Lindsey Vonn is a professional alpine skier with a looooong resume. She has won one gold and two bronze medals in the Olympics. Vonn has also won two golds, three silvers, and three bronze medals in the World Championships. Vonn recently enjoyed a beach vacation, and shared a set of photos of herself wading and holding a starfish on Instagram. She captioned it, âStranger things have happened.â In another she was "defrosting." Here's how she stays so fit.
She Works Hard
Vonn makes sure to work hard. She recently had surgery, and has been documenting her rehab process on Instagram. She talked about the importance of working hard in the caption of this Instagram video. âWhat doesnât kill you makes you stronger đȘđ»!! It may seem insignificant, but I havenât been able to jump on my right leg like that for many, many years. Today I am SO much stronger than I was before! I literally had to take a moment and regroup⊠I got very emotional and I was so so happy. This is an incredible journey after surgery that I did not expect. Just another reminder to NEVER GIVE UP on yourself!!â
She Wants To Learn
Vonn is all about learning things. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. âThe sun rises on another week⊠a week full of opportunity to grow and learn. Loving the process, no matter where it leads⊠because itâs always been about the journey. One step at a time, I will get to where Iâm meant to go. She Does Squats
One exercise that Vonn likes to do are squats. She did them as a way to help with her surgery rehab. Vonn included a photo and video of herself doing squats with a barbell in this Instagram post. She Gets Enough Protein, Fats, and Carbs
Vonn broke down her diet in an interview with Bon Appetit. She says that she makes sure to get enough carbs, protein, and fat in her diet. âIâm training probably nine months out of the year. I eat foods that I like, but theyâre more portioned, and the carb-to-protein-to-fat ratio is calculated in each meal. Now Iâm eating like 50-50 protein-to-carbs at breakfast. Lunch is maybe 60-40, and dinner is usually no carbs. I eat a lot of fat in my dietâavocado, almond butter, olive oil, even bacon.
She Has Cheat Days

Vonn talked about the importance of having cheat days in her Bon Appetit interview. âYouâll drive yourself insane if you only eat what youâre supposed to eat every single day for the whole summer, so after a heavy workout Iâll splurge sometimes. Usually itâs on frozen yogurt, but banana bread is always a nice comfort foodâŠI think itâs just good for everyone to find a balance of being healthy but also enjoying food. Everything in moderation. You shouldnât take away completely the things you really enjoy eating.â
