Lizzo’s Latest Weight Loss Update Has Everyone Talking—Here’s Why

Here’s how she stays in shape.

Lizzo has always been about confidence, self-love, and embracing her body on her own terms. But now, the Grammy-winning superstar is celebrating a major personal milestone—one that has fans cheering her on. In a recent Instagram post, Lizzo revealed that she’s officially reached her weight release goal, marking the first time she’s seen this number on the scale since 2014. “I did it,” she wrote. “Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to.” Her journey hasn’t been about fitting into a certain mold—it’s been about feeling her best. Here’s how she’s making it happen.

She's Consistent

Lizzo revealed on TikTok that she is extremely consistent with working out. “I don’t really see it because if anyone who’s on a natural weight-loss journey knows, losing weight is actually the slowest thing in the world and you don’t really notice it until you notice it. Also the scale’s not really moving. But anyway, that doesn’t matter. I’m super proud of my current lifestyle.”

She’s Conscious Of Her Wellness

Lizzo revealed on TikTok that she is very conscious of her wellness. “I'm very holistically conscious—like I am very hippie-dippie and woo woo when it comes to food and supplements and just thinking about my body and the environment—and I think a lot of people see a fat person that way and immediately just assume everything they're doing is to be thin. I'm not tryna be thin. I don't ever want to be thin."

She Stopped Being Vegan

Lizzo was previously open about being vegan. However, she revealed in a TikTok that after doing some testing, she decided to add animal product back into her diet. “When I got to Japan, I was in awe at how clean and delicious their food was. I indulged in fresh sushi and fluffy egg. And I was amazed at how good my body felt the next day. After tests and research. I found that animal proteins helped me have more energy, lose weight and helped with my mental fog.”

She Uses A Stairmaster

Lizzo revealed in a TikTok that she uses a stairmaster to keep herself in shape. "I was doing Stairmaster today, and I was doing a higher level than normal. Sometimes when you want to give up, it's really just because you've been pushing yourself too hard. Don't give up, just take it easier on yourself."

She Jumps Rope

Last year, Lizzo shared this workout video on Instagram. One thing she is seen doing in it is jumping rope. According to ACE Fitness, “Jumping rope can help improve your coordination. Jumping rope is a cyclic activity, which means you perform it for a steady, regular cadence. The steady cadence and rhythm of jumping rope can help improve the coordination between your eyes, feet and hands.”

Carnie Wilson is showing off her weight loss. In a new social media post the former Wilson Phillips singer looks incredibly svelte. “Another before and ‘during’ ... my health journey! This is 40 pounds down. I feel really different,” she captioned the set of photos. How is she getting in shape? Here is everything you need to know about her weight loss journey.

1. She Is Dieting: No Gluten, Sugar, or Butter

“Knowing that I did this PURELY through diet - no gluten or sugar, no butter and keeping fats down too,” Wilson continues. “Lately I have indulged in cheese and nuts which have more fat. If I chose not to eat corn tortillas, nuts and cheese - there's no way I could keep this up.”

2. She Plans on “Exercising More”

Carnie revealed that up until now she hasn’t been working out very much. “I need to start exercising more to make the scale start to move again, but I'm so proud and pumped,” she writes in the caption.

3. It’s a “Miracle

“I have totally adjusted my eating habits to satisfy my cravings but in a realistic way. And it's a miracle,” she continues. “Hope this inspires someone.”

4. Subhead Goes Right Here

In February, Carnie elaborated on why she decided to embark on a weight loss journey. “My body started rejecting gluten and sugar ... and with my blood sugars at a six ... cholesterol at 225 I was not heading in a good direction,”she wrote on Instagram. “I had a pain in my tummy and had an ultrasound to be sure I had no gallstones. Luckily, I did not. I was too scared to give up the food that I thought was bringing me comfort.”

5. Her Weight Loss Journey Is “An Act of Self Love”

“I know there are many ways to lose weight quicker, but it comes down to calories in versus calories expended,” she continued. “For me, this was an act of self love ... knowing which food made me feel like shit and also knowing I can't eat it. The result has been weight loss, more energy, feeling more positive, hopeful, in control and confident. I'm not counting calories or going too cray cray with the scale.”

6. Her Goal Is 155 Pounds

She added that she planned to “reach a physical goal of 155 pounds.” “It's hard sometimes because Lord knows I wanna cram it in my mouth!!! I know how I will feel if I do though — and that's what stops me,” she said. “Thank you for such loving and encouraging words the last five months! It means so much to me!!!!”

And not just be like, ‘Ooh, look at this cool movement. Being fat is body-positive.’ No, being fat is normal,” she told Vogue in 2020. “I think now, I owe it to the people who started this to not just stop here. We have to make people uncomfortable again, so that we can continue to change. Change is always uncomfortable, right?”

I want you to know that whatever you’re going through, if it doesn’t feel good, that you will feel good again, and you have whatever it takes to feel good again,” she said during an Instagram video she posted after the Twitter situation. “You are capable. You deserve to feel good as hell, and you deserve to find that. And as proud as you are of me, I’m proud of you. 1. She Avoids Certain Products

Lizzo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it. She revealed her tips in this TikTok. "I have extremely sensitive skin,” she says. The singer revealed that she has to be careful of what she puts on her skin, and there is a type of product she avoids. “So if I have scented soaps—and I accidentally used scented soap at one of the hotels—it will break me out and make me itchy.”

2. She Speaks Out

Lizzo opened up about her career in an interview with Vanity Fair. The singer is known for expressing her opinions about certain topics. Lizzo talked about the overturning of Roe v. Wade, “It shouldn’t matter if I had a personal experience or knew somebody; it shouldn’t matter what my opinion is. Opinions is what got us in this shit in the first place—what people think people should be doing with their bodies. These days, we don’t create laws that support people having health care, never mind abortions. How about letting people have access and resources and mind their fucking business?”

3. She Doesn’t Hide Her Emotions

Lizzo is known for being honest, and she talked about her approach to Vanity Fair. “There’s been so many times I’ve been in glam where I’ve been sad about something, either a romantic thing or somebody passed away, or something in the news, and I’d get emotional and I’d say ‘I’ve got to take a break because I’m going to cry and fuck up the makeup,’” she says. “I had to go and do my job. So I went to the bathroom to cry about it, then I went online, because once I learn how to express myself, I need to tell that person how I really feel. I know I’m not the only person who experiences extreme negativity thrown at them from the internet—there are people in high school right now who have a whole high school talking about them, and they don’t know how they’re going to get through it. So if they can see me get through it on the level and the scale I’m experiencing it, maybe they’ll think they can get through it too.”

4. She’s Enjoying Herself

While Lizzo is known for being honest with her emotions, she’s also known for her fun-loving persona. She tells Vanity Fair, “I saw a picture of me laughing and someone said she seems to have a lot of fun with her fans. Yeah, I do have fun, because if I’m not having fun right now, when am I going to be able to enjoy having a hot, rockin’ bod, being young, beautiful, and rich?”

5. She’s Vegan

Lizzo opened up about her diet to Vanity Fair. She says that she is a vegan. “I lead a very healthy lifestyle—mentally, spiritually, I try to keep everything I put in my body super clean. Health is something I prioritize, wherever that leads me physically. Like veganism, people were like, ‘You’re a vegan? What, are you deep frying the lettuce?’ I’m not a vegan to lose weight, I just feel better when I eat plants.”

Some people say they do experience a release in muscle tension afterwards, but there's not much research to prove one way or the other,” says the Mayo Clinic.

But it's like, people act like they don't cry. People act like they're not upset about things. And the fact that I choose to show it is, for me, helpful. If it's happening to me online, I kind of wanna work it out online too, you know? It's not like a cry for help and it's not to bring any pity. It's more so to just, like, normalize it."

One is strength. ‘You're swinging your arms, moving the muscles of your arms and shoulders, increasing your upper-body strength. And when you're in the boxer crouch with a wide stance, with your knees slightly bent, you're strengthening your core muscles, back, and legs,’ says physical therapist Linda Arslanian, director of rehabilitation services at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women's hospital. Stronger muscles make it easier to get up out of a chair or carry a bag of groceries.”

She Does Shoulder Workouts

She Uses Natural Products

Lee makes sure to prioritize her health. She tells Russh that her dad advised her to have this attitude. “My dad has always reminded me that above all, health comes first. And he means all forms. Mental health, physical health, emotional health, etc. So, he always encouraged me to invest in my health and try to heal pain so I could cope with the other parts of life.”

She Loves Coconut Oil & Olive Oil

Lee shared her favorite body skincare products with ELLE. “I use coconut oil in the shower. I have dry skin so I lather it on while I’m in the shower and the hot water and towel dry gets rid of the excess but leaves enough to let sink in. I can’t get enough of the summer smell! I also love hot baths. I pour about a cup of olive oil in there—it’s heavenly! You come out feeling super silky and smelling like Italy!”

She Takes Care Of Her Skin

Lee makes sure to stay consistent with skincare. Even while she’s traveling. Lee shared her tips for skincare while traveling in her ELLE interview. “I’m a sucker for a facial and try to have one every now and then with extractions. I don’t even have a usual place, I just look for somewhere that looks decent in whatever city I’m in. My in-flight routine is pretty simple, I drink a ton of water and moisturize my face before I board. After a big shoot with a lot of makeup I just wash it off before I go to bed. Very simple!”

She Boxes

Lima likes to box to keep herself in shape. She talked about this in an interview with Into The Gloss. “I've been boxing since I was 19 years old. For me, it's great zen time. Some people find that in yoga or meditation, but when I'm boxing, I'm not in my head. That's why I love it. It's also great for my skin and hair because I sweat so much, which gets the circulation going. It's amazing, everyone is like, 'oh my God, your hair'—it's from the workout!”

She Takes Care Of Her Hair

Lima has amazing hair, and she makes sure to take care of it. She shared her routine in her Into The Gloss interview. “Once a week, I try to do a hair mask. I take my conditioner and I leave it on for around 30 minutes under my shower cap, but sometimes I'll do 45 minutes. I think the longer the better. And I think it's important to change your conditioner every so often. If I use one continuously, my hair will get used to it, so I keep switching it. Right now I'm using the Victoria's Secret Conditioner—I just used it this morning. I love the smell.”

She Works With A Dermatologist

Lima tells Into The Gloss that she works with a dermatologist to help keep her skin healthy. “My skin is pretty normal. But I travel, so I have to work with wherever I am—we'll shoot in the desert for instance, and my skin will be really dry, and it'll react. But I've always taken care of my skin. Herve Herau is my dermatologist, he's in Paris. He's amazing and I try to see him once a month. When I walk out of his office, I literally look 10 years younger. I'm not joking—that's a fact.”

She Uses Natural Skin Products

Lima tells Into The Gloss that she uses natural products on her skin, and specifically she uses ones from her dermatologist. “Herve has his own line of products and everything is natural. From every product I've tried, his are the best. I have his Face Cleanser and Gel Lotion, and then two creams, a Gel Cream for daytime and an Extra Rich Cream for night. I wear the light one during the day but I'll take the night cream and put it under my eyes. It's really amazing. If I’m on a plane I bring my Caudalie Beauty Elixir, I love that mist.”

She Uses Battle Ropes

The Dogpound gym shared this video on Instagram of Lima doing different exercises. In it, she is seen using battle ropes. NASM states that these exercises have a lot of health benefits. “Battle Rope training allows for safe and effective ways to train force production in all three planes of motion, as an integral part of any well-rounded strength and conditioning program. If you are looking for a tool that recruits multiple core musculature in movements, then the Battle Rope is that tool. High to moderate levels of activation have been found in obliques, erector spinae, and gluteus medius (Calatayud, 2015).”
