Love Island's Tasha Ghouri Shows Off Fit Figure "With a Cherry in Top"

Here is everything you need to know about her approach to health and fitness.

Tasha Ghouri is heating up the beach in her swimsuit. In a new social media post the Love Island star flaunts her incredible body in a cherry print bathing suit. "With a Cherry on top," she captioned the series of Instagram snaps taken in the Maldives. "OMG," commented Millie Grace Court. "Unreal," added Danica Taylor. How does the reality star stay fit? Here is everything you need to know about her approach to health and fitness.

1

She Dances

Tasha loves dance cardio so much, she has dreams to compete on Strictly Come Dancing. "It will happen, you have to believe in it!" she joked to OK! Magazine in a recent interview. "I think Strictly would be really interesting because its [dancing] styles I've never done before so it would be a challenge. So who knows!" Dance cardio is a great fitness form, as it helps build strength and promote flexibility, aids in weight loss, and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop heart disease or die from it than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues.

She Swims

Tasha, a "beach baby," loves to swim, which is a great method of aerobic physical activity, according to the CDC. Just two and a half hours per week of aerobic physical activity, such as swimming, bicycling, or running, can decrease the risk of chronic illnesses. In addition to the many physical benefits, there are multiple studies supporting the mental health benefits of swimming as well.

She Lifts Weights

Tasha also lifts weights. Her personal trainer Joshua Kempton, another former Love Island contestant, told Women's Health that Tasha trained four to five times a week doing a lower body workout. She focused on hamstrings and an upper body and core workout and also did a cardio day, a workout focusing on glutes, and another looking at the whole body. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

"Tasha's goals were to get stronger and be the best version of herself both physically and mentally," Josh told Women's Health. "She's got strong mobility and a disciplined mindset to progress with training," he said.

She Eats Healthy

Tasha incorporates all food groups into her diet, says Josh, eating healthy most of the time but allowing herself occasional cheat meals. She also consumes a lot of protein to help with her intense workout sessions and eats carbohydrates to fuel her energy. "Without them, she'd never have sustained and recovered the workout routine we set together," he told Women's Health.
