Madelaine Petsch Shares Swimsuit Photo of Sunny "Reset"

Here are 5 things she does to stay in shape.

Madelaine Petsch is taking time to recalibrate in her swimsuit. In one of her latest social media posts the Riverdale alum shows off her beautiful body while taking some much-needed rest and relaxation. "Reset," she captioned a series of Instagram snaps taken during her getaway. How does the young actress approach health and wellness? Here are some of her top health habits.

1

Exercise

Madelaine exercises, but only when it's fun. "I used to feel like I 'had' to work out everyday, I'm not sure why. But lately I've been going to the gym when it sounds fun to me and more for my mental health. I've honestly never felt better or seen better results in my strength. Listen to your body," she revealed in an interview. "The thing I love most about my body is how perplexed I am about all the things it can do. The more I learn about my body the more fascinated I am by it," she added in a Body Scan video for Women's Health. "The more I move the happier I'll be. I link my mental health to working out."

A Vegan Diet

Madelaine is a longtime vegan. "Protein is something I really have to be aware of in every meal or else my energy levels just go completely downhill," she told Women's Health. She describes herself as "such a carb fan" so she eats a lot of protein pasta, like red lentil pasta. "I need to hit my salivary glands and I also need to hit my protein."

Reading

In her latest social media posts, Madelaine reveals that reading is one of her "reset" habits. Why should you pick up a book? One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years compared with people who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

Horseback Riding

Madelaine rides horses. "Wholesome," she captioned this recent snap. According to the American Heart Association, riding horses is great for your health. Not only does it boost cardiovascular health, but builds core strength, burns calories, and lowers blood pressure. It is also great for your mental health as it helps relax you.

5

Hydration

Madelaine prioritizes hydration, drinking 11 to 13 500 ml-bottles of water per day. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.
