Malina Weissman is sipping coffee at the beach in her swimsuit. In a new social media post the A Series of Unfortunate Events star shows off her amazing body in workout gear while getting caffeinated. “Sandy coffee🐬,” the 21-year-old captioned the Instagram post. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
1. Snorkeling
Malina enjoys snorkeling. “Where the water is blue,” she captioned a post with a fin and mask on. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.
2. Walking
Malina makes sure to get her steps in. “I live in New York, so me and my friends will walk around the city,” she told Coveteur. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
3. She Loves Pizza
What is Malina’s dream day? “OK… I’m waking up at like, 12… I’m eating pizza for breakfast… Then I’m going to see all my friends. Then we’re going to eat the worst junk food in the world—it’s good, but it’s like, bad for you—and then, we’re going to go get dessert. Then we’re going to have more pizza and go home and just chill with popcorn. That sounds like a good day,” she told Coveteur.
4. Hiking
Malina enjoys hiking and regularly shares photos from her adventures on social media. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:
- Building stronger muscles and bones
- Improving your sense of balance
- Improving your heart health
- Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems
5. Coffee
Malina is a coffee drinker, as can be evidenced by her recent post. According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.
