She Loves Oats
Martha shared some of her favorite foods in an interview with The Cut. She says that she loves eating oats for breakfast. "I usually crave something sweet for breakfast," Martha said. "It's called morning oats, and it's steel-cut oats with flax seed and quinoa. You can add almond butter, bananas, berries, and honey. It gives me energy for my day."
She Works With A Trainer
Martha also shared some of her fitness secrets in her interview with The Cut. "Lately I've been working out with a trainer. I really like how trainers challenge you and push you in ways that you wouldn't normally push yourself. What I've found to be most beneficial for me right now is always switching it up. My trainer will give me a new exercise every time that challenges my body and tricks my mind into having to connect to my body. I find the best results when my brain and my body connect, and both are challenged."
Subhead Goes Right Here
For Martha, working out means switching things up. She tells The Cut that this is why she turns to interval training to keep herself fit. "When I do the same routine, my body plateaus. Today we did a lot of isometric body work outs, and planks. We have been doing intervals too, when you have to go really fast on the bike for 30 seconds then go back to strength training. Those days are really intense."
She Follows The 80/20 Rule
Martha does eat a healthy diet, but that doesn't mean she deprives herself. The model told HollywoodLife that she uses the 80/20 rule, which means eating healthy 80% of the time, and indulging the other 20%. "It's all about balance," Martha explained. "I love indulging in food and I don't think it's something that you should deprive yourself of if it's something you really love. As long as you throw in your greens! There's a perfect 80 / 20 ratio that I follow."
She Does Low-Impact Workouts
Martha has scoliosis, which means she has to do low-impact workouts. "I do mix in some cardio," she said to HollywoodLife. "One thing I have learned about my body, because I have scoliosis and I have rods in my back, is that I'm better off doing more low impact exercises for my body." One thing she's a big fan of doing is barre classes.
