Her go-to is a combination of strength training and cardio. “My workouts vary depending on the day, but usually it’s some sort of strength work and lifting, with cardio in the intervals,” Megan said in an interview with The New York Times. “I usually start with yoga or Pilates as a 30-minute warm-up.”

She Does Running Intervals

Megan shared some of her diet and workout secrets in an interview with Refinery29. She does a lot of running intervals on the treadmill, and also shared how she pushes herself to finish. “Doing them on the treadmill, they might be three-minute intervals for 40 minutes. She Knows What Works For Her

When she was playing soccer, Megan didn’t look to her teammates for workout advice. Instead, she learned what routine wokrs for her. “Over the years I have really figured out what works for me,” Megan told Sports Illustrated. “It’s not about what anyone else is doing. I can’t worry about whether I am doing everything that another player is doing, which can be hard sometimes. I have to trust my training and know my body and figure out what will get the best out of me.”

She Stays Hydrated

Megan makes sure to keep herself hydrated each day. She shared one of her favorite healthy beverages with Refinery29. “I try to only put things into my body that will help me get what I want out of it on the field. I have a great relationship with BODYARMOR. It helps me stay hydrated, which is so important. I love the strawberry banana flavor.”

She Gets Enough Sleep

Megan doesn’t just prioritize physical activity, but also her recovery. She shared some of her favorite ways to recover with POPSugar. One thing Megan says that helps her is getting enough sleep each night. “Preferably, I’m in bed by 9:30, then trying to get to sleep by 10:30 or 11 p.m. I’m very precious about my sleep. I like to get a full night out of it.”
