New England Patriots cheerleader Tiana Aliyah spent the last days of summer raising temperatures in the beautiful Dominican Republic. Aliyah shared pictures from her sun-soaked getaway, posing on a lounger in a bright patterned bikini against a beach background of palm trees, blue skies, and ocean waters. “Shoulda put me somewhere where no one could find me,” she captioned the post. “THE DROP WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR. This suit was also made for you,” commented fellow cheerleader Xedera Townsend. Here’s how Aliyah stays fit and football-ready.

1. Hiking In the Sunshine

Aliyah loves hiking in the fresh air (she even hiked in platform shoes on vacation). “Hiking offers a variety of benefits, both physical and mental,” says Jen Kates, Pn2, NASM-CPT, ACE Certified Health Coach. “Some benefits may be immediate (such as reduced blood pressure and stress levels, heightened focus and an increase in immune function), whereas other benefits may develop over time, such as weight loss and a decrease in depression.”

2. Grilled Fish and Lime

Aliyah enjoys fish so much she constantly posts pictures of her seafood meals on social media, even joking, “You’re probably tired of me eating fish and telling you. Oh well.” The American Heart Association recommends eating two servings of fatty fish a week for optimum health and wellness. “Fish is a good source of protein and, unlike fatty meat products, it's not high in saturated fat,” AHA experts say. “Regularly eating fish and seafood is consistently associated with lower risk for cardiovascular disease.”

3. Mediterranean Diet

Balanced,Nutrition,Concept,For,Dash,Clean,Eating,Flexitarian,Mediterranean,DietShutterstock

Aliyah loves traditional Mediterranean food, especially olives and red wine. Olives are a great option for a healthy snack that are not only delicious, but satiating, thanks to the high levels of healthy fats they contain. “Olives do what you want a snack to do: They’re good for your health and keep hunger at bay until your next meal,” says Devon Peart, RD, MHSc, BASc.

4. Beach Baby

Aliyah is happiest when vacationing at the beach. Research shows being near the ocean is not only beneficial for physical relaxation, it affects mental health too. “The color blue has been found by an overwhelming amount of people to be associated with feelings of calm and peace,” says Richard Shuster, PsyD, clinical psychologist and host of The Daily Helping podcast. “Staring at the ocean actually changes our brain waves’ frequency and puts us into a mild meditative state.”

5. Dancing Queen

Like her fellow cheerleaders, Aliyah is a fantastic professional dancer, which has both brain and physical health benefits. “Dancing is mainly linked to physical health benefits, but when you dance you are moving different part of your body in a coordinated way, and this activates several parts of the brain,” says the British Heart Foundation. “One small study even found that dancing is associated with a lower risk of dementia.”

Gymnast Olivia "Livvy" Dunne is channeling that back-to-school feeling in her swimsuit. The LSU and social media superstar just shared a fantastic new image of herself in a black swimsuit prostrated on the back of a boat, with stunning blue waters behind her. “There’s 104 days of summer vacation til school comes along just to end it…” she captioned the picture, quoting “Today Is Gonna Be a Great Day” by the band Bowling for Soup, aka the theme song from the Disney animated series Phineas and Ferb. How does the 20-year-old phenomenon stay in shape? Here’s how.

1. She Dedicated Her Childhood to Training

Despite the photo of Dunne looking like she’s enjoying the dog days of August in some exptiing location, taking in the sun, she has worked incredibly hard her entire life. “I pretty much sacrificed my summers, those pool days, those beach days with their friends. I was in the gym training,” Dunne told the Today Show.

2. She is a Hit on Social Media

Dunne posts photos of herself dancing and sunbathing, which have made her an Internet sensation, both as a talented athlete and as a pin-up queen. “As a woman, you're not responsible for how a man looks at you and object defies you. That's not a woman's responsibility,” Dunne told the Today Show. She did add: “There are some people occasionally that do reach out, and it is a bit concerning….They gave us some new rules for US athletes just to keep us safe, to not go into the stands after meets, and we have a new security person that travels with us.”

3. She Has a Great Support System

Hands,Holding,Paper,Family,Cutout,concept,Family,Home.Shutterstock

“When it comes to what you have on your plate, you've got athletics, you've got class, oh by the way, you have NIL”—that means “name, image, and likeness,” which she can monetize. “How do you go about managing all that?” asked a reporter from On3. “I would say having a good support system is so important,” she answered. “My family, they stand behind me and my mom, she helps me, my sister, she helps put together videos and sends it to the brand while I'm at practice or competing. So she's definitely a huge component in my everyday life and helping me with these brand deals. But having a good support system and compartmentalizing your day so you don't get overwhelmed.”

4. She Swims

Swimming offers a plethora of health benefits for both body and mind. It's a low-impact exercise that enhances cardiovascular fitness, strengthens muscles, and improves flexibility. The buoyancy of water reduces stress on joints, making it suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Regular swimming can aid in weight management, promoting calorie burning and increased metabolism. Moreover, it's an effective full-body workout that engages various muscle groups, enhancing tone and endurance. Beyond physical advantages, swimming also boosts mental well-being through its meditative rhythm and soothing effects. Overall, swimming is a holistic activity that fosters vitality, strength, and a tranquil mind.

5. This is Her Plan to Be Successful After Graduation

“I have one more year of school at LSU and one more year of gymnastics, which is insane to me. So I'm hoping just to have a good last year at LSU. But after school, I would definitely like to have my own brand. Yes, I love working with brands, but I would like to have my own thing, my own product one day. And I'm not sure exactly what that is yet, but I definitely feel like I can do something entrepreneurial, so I would like to have my own product,” she told On3.

Lexi Brumback was a member of the Navarro cheer squad. She was featured on the Netflix documentary series, Cheer. Brumback is still cheering today. In April, she shared a video on Instagram of herself doing a stunt. And in March, she shared a set of photos of herself at a competition. How does she stay so fit? Read on.

1. She Cheerleads

Cheerleading is the main way Brumback stays in shape. She talked about this in an interview with POPSugar. "I definitely want to keep up skills for as long as I'm able to do it because it's good for the body to get in and work out," she added. "Cheerleading, especially what I do is tumbling, it's a full-body workout, and if I can still do it, why not."

2. She Doesn’t Focus On Her Mistakes

Brumback tells POPSugar that cheerleading has taught her to not beat herself up over things. "One thing that I really had to learn was, whenever you do something wrong, you can't sit there and bully yourself over it. It's just going to make things worse. One quote I really like to tell myself is, 'Don't focus on what went wrong, focus on your next steps in fixing it.'"

3. She Has Good People Skills

Brumback also told POPSugar that cheerleading has helped with her social skills. "It teaches you major people skills and how to overcome your own problems, or even problems with each other, and come together and see the bigger picture and work towards that as a team," she says. "If there's no trust, there's no team."

4. She Likes Ink

"One of my fav things I’ve done since moving to LA is meeting amazing artists like @worst.ttt who are super talented and inspiring! He freehanded this cute little bat creature for me and I just love it! Thank you for the new ink 🤟🔥," she captioned one post.

5. She Likes the Sun

Sunshine is a great source of vitamin D. Just be sure to "generously apply a broad-spectrum water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of at least 30 to all exposed skin. Broad spectrum means the sunscreen protects you from both UVA and UVB rays. Re-apply about every 2 hours and after swimming or sweating," says Johns Hopkins.

Denver Broncos cheerleader Berkleigh Wright isn’t ready to say goodbye to summer (or her swimsuits) just yet. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit finalist took some time off from her busy schedule as an account manager and professional NFL cheerleader to get some R&R at the Clayton Members Club & Hotel in Denver. Wright shared pictures of herself posing in a white one-piece swimsuit, with a white shirt and straw hat. “Summer’s not over until Clayton says it’s over ☀️,” she captioned the post. Here’s how she works hard, plays hard, and cheers hard.

1. Look Good, Feel Good

Wright starts the day with a cup of matcha green tea to wake up and hit the ground running. “I’m all about the look good, feel good, work good vibes,” she says. “I always like to wake up and do my full skincare [routine], put on a fresh face and make sure that I’m setting myself up for success and a productive day.”

2. Sports Illustrated Beckons

Wright was a finalist in the Sports Illustrated Swim Search competition (no surprise there!). “I took this leap of faith because I feel that Sports Illustrated [Swimsuit] is a world-class organization that embodies everything I strive to be as a woman,” she says. “It extends beyond beauty: they stand for being a strong individual with depth, brains, kindness and integrity. A brand that celebrates everyone’s differences, exhibiting that our imperfections are what makes us beautiful. SI Swim helped me embrace those ideals in myself, and now I strive to imprint that mindset in others.”

3. Skiing Trips

Like a true Colorado girl, Wright is at home on the slopes. “It’s well documented that skiing and snowboarding benefits cardiovascular health, overall fitness, strength, coordination, balance and more,” says the Canadian Ski Council. “Regardless of your health and fitness goals, strapping on a pair of skis or a snowboard is sure to fulfill some of them. Due to the versatility of skiing and snowboarding, it can encompass the benefits of a cardio workout, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) session, and strength training session, all in one fun activity.”

4. Advice To Younger Self

Self,Love,Tips,List,/,Design,For,Prints,,Posters,,FramesShutterstock

Wright’s advice she would give her younger self is all about self-love and confidence. “Listen to your heart. If something is on it, it is there for a reason. Some things are only meant to be in your life for a reason or a season. Letting them go with grace will make room for what is meant to stay. Find your people and hold them close. Kindness is cool. Your authentic, genuine, weird and quirky self is the MOST beautiful thing you can be.”

5. Role Model

Wright wants to use her platform with the Denver Broncos and Sports Illustrated to be a role model for younger women. “Winning SI Swim Search to me means being a part of something bigger than myself,” she says. “Being a member of the Sports Illustrated family and having this powerful platform would help me further myself as a mentor and reach a wider audience of our youth. A mentor that demonstrates to our younger generation that you are not limited by your external factors, but rather unlimited by the person you can become from the inside out.”

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

She’s Consistent

Last year, Culpo was preparing for her wedding. She told E! News that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness in order to prepare. “Really trying to dial in [on] what I eat, how I workout, the workouts that I do. Trying to get them in consistently because you only get married once and I want to feel my best. But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

She Keeps Her Skin Healthy While Traveling

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

She Uses Products With Vitamins

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

She Packs Healthy Snacks

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."

Abigail Ratchford’s amazing body has helped her become one of the most famous models on the internet. The 32-year-old, who boasts over 9.1 million followers on Instagram alone, attributes her measurement-defying body to a few simple habits. Here is everything she does to stay fit at 32.

She Follows 4 Diet Rules

Abigail swears that abiding by simple rules helps her stay in shape. “I can’t diet. That just doesn’t work for me,” she told New Beauty. “I started to be healthier by first cutting out soda. Then, I stopped eating after 7 p.m. Finally, I started really watching my portions so I was eating fewer calories every day. And water—lots and lots of water.”

She UsesMyFitnessPal

Abigail explains being accountable for what she eats is crucial. While it’s not “rocket science,” she does use the MyFitnessPal app to track her eating. “I’m the type of person who likes to eat what I want. The app can help anyone do that—you can still eat great food, you just eat less of it,” she added New Beauty.

Pilates

Abigail is a fan of Pilates. “Group workout classes are so big right now, but I always get nervous around other people in settings like that. I have to go at my own pace without a bunch of distractions so, for me, Pilates with a one-on-one instructor works best. It’s not cheap, but then you also aren’t tempted to skip,” she said She added to Men’s Fitness via Muscle & Fitness that the workout “keeps you long and lean” — and the Mayo Clinic agrees. They say it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Balanced Diet

“I love green juices and smoothies. Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Strength Training

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. I’ve been listening to my girlfriends who are in great shape and they say you have to do weight training, you have to go in and do squats. That’s my new thing—I’ve been doing some resistance training, circuit training,” she told Men’s Fitness. The Mayo Clinic explains that strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

Develop strong bones

Manage your weight

Enhance your quality of life

Manage chronic conditions

Sharpen your thinking skills
