Michelle Monaghan is receiving rave reviews for her performance on this season of The White LotusHer character, Jaclyn Lemon, brings everything to Thailand, and fans can't get enough of her. One more thing Michelle is getting rave reviews for? Her incredible skin, and everyone's wondering what her secrets are. The actress spilled some of her beauty care regimen, and we're here with the scoop.

Michelle Monaghan Uses This "Holy Grail" Product To Shrink Her Pores

The 49-year old celeb shared that she deals with some skin challenges, as most of us do. Hers happens to be large pores and dark spots. How does she treat this common issue? With one skincare product she swears by to "shrink" her pores.

The celeb told NewBeauty, "I was working on a film set, and I was working with a makeup artist, and I was complaining to her about some of my skin issues—the big one was my dark spots. I have sun damage and things that I've acquired over the years, and I was having some hormonal acne around my chin, and she asked: 'Have you ever tried this brand? It's called U Beauty. They have this product called Resurfacing Compound ($88) and I think you might like it.'"

Michelle decided to give it a try, and after one week, things started to improve. "I started using it, and, honestly, after a week, the first thing that I noticed was the difference in my pores. I didn't even think my pores were an issue for me, but then I saw that they were shrunken or diminished, I was like, 'Oh, wait. If this is doing this for my pores, it's obviously going to ultimately start helping on my sunspots,' and it did," the celeb said.

That's not all that improved. Michelle also experienced brighter skin, and has dubbed the product her "holy grail." She believes in it so much, in fact, she became an ambassador for the brand, liking it's authenticity and organic qualities.

To provide a little background, clogged skin, sun damage, and an oily complexion are all culprits that can cause pores to appear larger than they actually are, according to the American Academy of Dermatology Association. Ultraviolet rays from the sun is also the culprit that causes dark spots. The academy stresses the importance of treating your skin gently. It's good practice to cleanse your face with warm water, two times each day. This regimen will help avoid clogged pores and an oily complexion.

She Uses SPF, Too

Protecting her skin from the sun is extremely important to Michelle.

"I don't start my day without SPF," she told NewBeauty. "It is the base, the fundamental step in my routine. It's super important. I encourage everybody just to start your day with it. We always talk about beauty and aging, but, first and foremost, it protects you against skin cancer. If you're out there doing all the other things, but you're not applying SPF, that is your first defense against premature aging. Just do that first and you're going to save a lot of time and money in the long run."

She Checks Her Skin

Another way Michelle Monaghan takes care of her skin is by getting it checked regularly. She encourages others to do the same.

"I have my skin checks," she told NewBeauty. "Skin Cancer Awareness Month is May, so you'll start to see me activate a little bit more now because I find it's been really amazing sharing my story because oftentimes with each year when I activate around Skin Cancer Awareness Month, I'll get one DM or I'll get one comment where somebody will say, 'Oh, thanks for the reminder. I went in and I had something removed. It was [a] basal cell or it was this, or it was that.' I just want people to continue to spread the word. I love advocating for anyone's health, but, specifically, I think there's a real lack of awareness, so I just want to keep that up. That's really important to me."

Michelle is all about spreading awareness around sun safety and melanoma. In a shared Instagram post with Refinery29, she wrote, "I'd always had a mole — a little smaller than my pinky nail — on the back of my left calf. I never paid any attention to it. In fact, I didn't know anything about changing moles, let alone what skin cancer was. I didn't know it even existed. One day, in 2007, my husband noticed that my mole had changed…My dermatologist said that she thought it was fine but advised removing it to be on the safe side. I had a biopsy and the results came back a week later. 'This is really dangerous,' the dermatologist said. 'Its melanoma.' Even at that point, I still knew very little about skin cancer so I was like, 'Okay!' I didn't know that melanoma could be fatal. Once I got off the phone, I told my husband that it was melanoma and he responded, 'It's melanoma? That's serious.' And it was. The dermatologist told me that I would need to have a more significant surgery and she took away about an inch of skin in every direction to make sure we caught all of the cancer cells. It was pretty major to have something cut out of me."
