MMA star Kayla Harrison is showing off her acrobatic skills in a new social media post. Harrison, 33, shared a video of herself wearing black leggings and a camo sports bra, performing an impressive kip-up on the mat before landing in a fighting stance. “I take training seriously. 😜 #sporty #sportyspice #fitnessgoals #mma #mmatraining #ufc300 #kaylaharrison #teamkayla,” she captioned the post. “Looks like something out of Mortal Kombat 🔥🔥🔥🔥,” a fan commented, to which Harrison responded with a ninja emoji. Here’s what her diet, exercise, and training regimen looks like.

1. Three Workouts a Day

Harrison treats her workouts like her job. “I usually do 2-3 workouts a day, and it can include grappling, sparring and various drills,” she told Women Fitness. “I see my strength and conditioning coach twice a week, do one light technical workout on Saturdays and then Sunday I rest. In terms of dealing with stress, being a fighter is like putting yourself in the most stressful situation possible and finding ways to cope with it. There’s nothing more stressful than locking yourself in a cage with someone who is trying to fight you.”

2. Pre-Fight Diet

Fast,Food,,Low,Carb,Diet,,Fattening,And,Unhealthy,Eating,ConceptShutterstock

Harrison starts cleaning up her diet three weeks before a big fight. “No more pizza, no more ice cream and stuff like that. I eat as much as I want, but just really good, wholesome food,” she told Muscle & Fitness. “Nothing processed. Simple and straightforward proteins with lots of veggies and fruits if I feel like I need the sugar, and that’s it. I also have single mom status, so I eat when I can [laughs], but I think I have got it down to a science, and my body feels really good.”

3. Visualization Techniques

Harrison relies on visualization techniques for stress management. “I don’t try to find exercises to relieve stress, I try and find ways to become better at dealing with the stress,” she told Women Fitness. “This includes breathing exercises, visualization activities and positive thinking. Every night I train my brain, just like I do my body. I’m visualizing success, I’m visualizing being the best MMA fighter in the world, I’m visualizing arm barring someone or landing that perfect cross…and I repeat it repeatedly.”

4. Nutrition and Recovery

Harrison knows that nutrition will absolutely impact her recovery. “Nutrition is definitely something that I have taken more seriously as I have got older,” she told Muscle & Fitness. “When you are 20 years old, you recover easily, no matter what, versus when you are 30 years old and you just don’t recover the same. So, nutrition is a big part of recovery.”

5. Keeping a Routine

Harrison is a creature of habit and routine. “I grew up in a routine,” she told Muscle & Fitness. “I woke every morning, I’d make my bed, I got my clothes ready the night before, for school, and as I got older, I woke up every morning and went for a run or I lifted. Afterward, I would have either cross-country practice, or wrestling practice, or strength and conditioning, and then I would go from there to judo, doing my homework in the car, then come home, sleep, repeat, and do it all over again.

Angela Hill is a MMA Fighter, known as Overkill. She recently shared a training video on her Instagram. Hill captioned the video, “BACK AT IT! Quick round in my new @shadowfightgoods gloves after a killer @erodingweakness session at @weckmethod. Me and my team, were motivated, hungry, ready to get what’s ours.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Angela Hill stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Does Conditioning Workouts

Hill shared her daily routine in an interview with ESPN. She says that the first workouts she does are conditioning ones. “I get to the gym at about 8 a.m. ET to get in a quick conditioning set. Here, I'm doing squat raises with just the bars so my arms don't snap off. This is one of my least favorite exercises because it targets a lot of small muscles I'm not used to using. I'm working my way up to a heavier weight but the bar will do for now. After this I'll move on to squats, lunges and presses. Conditioning is my least favorite part of training. It's repetitive, boring and hard. I like to think of it like taking medicine; you hate it in the moment but the results keep you coming back.”

2. She Trains With Her Husband

Hill tells ESPN that she likes to train with her husband. “Adam isn't just my husband, he's my sparring partner, coach, corner man, nutritionist and daily motivator. He's a pretty good catch. Right here he is pulling an eyelash out of my eye. He probably punched the lash loose a few minutes ago doing slip-and-counter drills. That's when your pad holder throws a pad at your face, you duck under it, making him miss, and then you attack while he recovers his balance. Sometimes you forget to duck, ha-ha!”

3. She Does Muay Thai

Hill naturally does a lot of fighting to train. She tells ESPN that she does Muay Thai. “Muay Thai is basically kickboxing with the addition of elbows and knees. It's the most brutal striking martial art and a very intense workout. It helps me in the ring because in MMA the fight always starts standing, so being able to punch, kick, elbow and knee your opponent without getting tired is essential.

4. She Doesn’t Freak Out

Hill shared how she prepares for fights with Yahoo Sports. She says that she doesn’t try to freak herself out before a fight. “The more I get in there, it just feels like another day at work doing my job. The secret to me is that I’ve forced myself to take every day one day at a time. When you build up fight day to be this massive event that could be life-altering, then it could really mess with your psyche and mess with your confidence.”

5. She’s Taking Risks

Hill tells Yahoo Sports that she wants to push herself and take risks. “It’s been hard for me because I do have a technical background and I am a very technical fighter. Opening up is always hard for me because I’m like, ‘Well, if I do this, I might be off-balance. Or if I do this, that could happen. But sometimes, that can hold you back. So I’ve been more open to taking risks and believing in the fact that even if I [expletive] up, I can probably fix it so I shouldn’t hesitate to go. So now I just try to hit, try to score and try to hurt them. It’s been working and fights have been going my way.”

Kay Hansen, a highly successful MMA fighter, regularly shares videos of her training on Instagram. Recently, she posted a video of herself boxing and working on holds, captioning it, “In my own lane.” Hansen's rigorous training includes a combination of boxing, weight training, and core workouts to keep her body in peak fighting shape. Her commitment to mastering techniques like snatches and leg day exercises shows her dedication to building strength, endurance, and power in the gym and the ring.

1. She Boxes

The boxing that Hansen is seen doing so in her Instagram video has a lot of benefits. Harvard Health states, “Fitness boxing is a great aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise gets your heart pumping and helps lower the risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. It can strengthen bones and muscles, burn more calories, and lift mood. Aerobics can also boost your endurance, which helps you climb a flight of stairs or walk farther.”

2. She Weight Trains

One type of exercise that Hansen likes to do is weight training. She shares a lot of videos on Instagram of herself using weights. Hansen shared these videos on her page of herself using a barbell and a kettlebell. She captioned the post, “A little solo work today building off of some recent workouts with @coach_lou_ 🏋️‍♀️Complex 1RDL x10. Power cleans x5. Front Squat x10 (X4). Complex 2. (Forgive the form- that was my last set😂). Bicep curls x5. Bent over row x10. Overhead press x6 (3x). Movement 3: Whatever kettle bell exercise that was 😂”

3. She Works Her Lower Body

Hansen doesn’t skip leg day. She shared some of her go-to moves in this Instagram video. Piedmont recommends training your lower body. “Having strong glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings and calf muscles gives your body a strong foundation and can: Tone your lower body muscles. Boost your metabolism as you increase muscle mass. Give you a higher calorie burn as you train larger muscle groups. Improve your balance. Strengthen your bones. Reduce joint pain.”

4. She Does Core Workouts

Hansen makes sure to do core workouts to stay in shape. She shared some of her favorites in this Instagram post. In it, Hansen does things like plank slides and side planks while lifting a weight. “Cardio and Core today 🥵💪Little blast at the end was my fav. 30sec cardio (versus climber) x 30sec core (any) for 10 straight 🙌 try it out!”

5. She Does Snatches

One weight training exercise that Hansen enjoys doing is snatches. She shared this video of herself doing them on Instagram. Hansen captioned the post, “Today was an introduction to snatches for me 🙌 I think I found my new favorite 😂One thing about me is I am going to do it right. Whether it takes 10 reps or 1000 reps, I have to get as close to perfect as possible😂 today was a 1000 rep kinda day lmao. It’s a blessing and a curse.”

Carla Esparza is a professional MMA Fighter. Last month, she showed up to Fight Week to support a friend, and shared highlights on Instagram. Esparza captioned the post, “Fight week for @luanapinheiromma !! It was great to get a couple sessions in before you left for your fight, feelin sharp! Luana is such a hard worker, and picks up things very quickly. I’m grateful to have her as a friend and partner, kick butt this Saturday 💪🏽👊🏽😤 #TeamOyama”

She Uses Proper Technique

Esparza makes sure to use proper technique when she’s fighting. She shared some things people need to look out for in the caption of this Instagram video. “2 of the most common mistakes I see with the single. 1.) Having a gap between body and the single leg. This will often cause the head to pop off as you spin to finish the single leg dump. (One exception to this variation is if you have the single leg straightened/extended with the lace, an ideal variation for people with long limbs). 2.) Not keeping the center leg planted as you spin. This can cause you and your opponent to continue to spin together.”

She Swims

Esparza likes to swim to keep herself in shape. While on her babymoon in Bermuda, Esparza did some snorkeling. She shared some photos of herself doing so in this Instagram post, captioning it, “TBT to last week in Bermuda for our babymoon 👶🏻 🌙! Said goodbye to my 2nd trimester (now almost 29weeks😮!). Our final trip as a twosome was amazing, but can’t wait to meet our biggest adventure, our baby boy💙😍. Farewell Bermuda, I will miss your pink sand beaches, caves, and shipwreck snorkeling most of all😊 #bermudatriangle.”

She Surfs

Esparza also likes to go surfing to keep herself in shape. She decided to ride the waves while on a vacation in Costa Rica. Esparza included some surfing photos in this Instagram post. She captioned the post, “Surfin mama (to be) 🏄🏻♀️! Wonderful time in Costa Rica for a beautiful wedding. Pura vida!🤙🏽”

She's Consistent

Esparza makes sure to workout on a regular basis. She shared some of her favorites in this Instagram video. Esparza also talked about consistency in the caption. “In all seriousness, I’ve tried to maintain 4-5 light workouts a week, eat clean, pelvic floor therapy, plenty of water, and rest throughout my pregnancy to do my best to ensure a speedy recovery, healthy pregnancy and labor. Though sometimes no matter what we do, some things like certain pregnancy symptoms and things that come up in labor are out of our control, we definitely can do everything in our power to give ourselves the best chances of success. This is how I like to view my fights, sometimes we can’t control what goes on in the cage, but we can do our best to hedge our bets by training smart, dieting, flexibility, rest, etc. 4 weeks left, wish me the best for a smooth final stretch and labor 😁”

She Works Hard

Esparza talked about her martial arts training and goals in an interview with UFC. “I think anyone’s perfect scenario is like, boom, you walk out, one punch, knockout. For me, I’d definitely like a chance to display all the work that I’ve been doing. I’ve been doing a lot of work in jiu jitsu, I’ve been sharpening up my striking, so I’m hoping that I can real

Rayna Vallandingham is flashing her washboard abs – in a two-piece exercise set from Alo. In a new social media post the actress flaunts her impressive midsection during a workout at the gym. “dojang diaries,” she captioned the series of snaps. “Magnific! Very very beautiful,” commented one of her followers. “♥️More like diaries of a hottie♥️” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are her top lifestyle tips.

Be Consistent

Consistency – at the gym and the martial arts studio – is the key to success. "It is a way of life," Rayna says. "It's not only teaching your body movements and being in synchronicity with your body, but also just like the mental aspect of it."

Fight Your Way to a Hot Body

Rayna is a big fan of martial arts. She has been doing taekwondo since she was 2, earning her first black belt at 6. "In the very beginning, my parents put me in the sport because I was just really shy, and I think they could tell that I needed something," says Vallandingham, who lives and trains in Los Angeles. "Immediately, I just loved it. I felt at home, and every single day, instead of watching Dora, I wanted to go to the dojo,” she told Well + Good. Studies confirm that the practice helps with balance, cognitive function, psychological health, weight loss, and physical fitness.

Work on Strength and Flexibility

Rayna recommends prioritizing strength, flexibility, and power. "Of the three, I think strength and flexibility are the top two," Vallandingham says. "We used to have people stand on my legs and force my knees to come down in butterfly stretch," she says. "I have permanent damage to my body—I have tendonitis [because of this]."

Lift Weights

If you want a strong, lean body like Vallandingham, you must lift for it. The star strength trains, focusing on supersets, doing two moves back-to-back that target the same muscle groups to double down on their gains. One of her favorite exercises is a goblet squat. She stands with her feet shoulder-width apart, folded forward until she can slide her palms underneath her soles (you could also hold your ankles or calves), then bends her knees, lowering her butt toward the floor while lifting her chest, coming into a deep squat. She'll bend and extend her legs several times in this position. Then, it's on to the main event, holding a weight in her hands while bending down into a deep squat. "I love utilizing a Bosu ball—they're pretty much in every single gym," she adds.

Stretch

Rayna never skips stretching. She starts by by lying on the floor with her legs up the wall and then allowing them to open out into a side split. "I let gravity do its work because that's my body telling me, okay, this is where we're at," she says. "My hips are opening on their own, and I'm not having to force anything." “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

In a new social media post the Olympian shows off her fantastic figure – including her flat abs – in an exercise set while enjoying the winter weather. “TRAINING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND! ❄️🥶❤️✨Gearing up in this altitude for the LONDON MARATHON this April! I’m so excited to see what my mind and body can make happen! To my marathon runners: it’s your time to shine, PLEASE tell me ALL of your tips, all of your advice, and for all of you who understand what I’m about to attempt, please send your words of encouragement 😂 Also feel free to try to talk me out of this as well thanks👍 We are on the training countdown. Turning a sprinter, jumper, and thrower into a long distance runner 🫣🙌 What do you think my time will be?” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Minfulness and Meditation

Charli practices mindfulness. Before going for a run, she says words of intention. “I am willing. I am grateful. I surrender,” she revealed during an interview with San Diego Magazine. Meditation:

“When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress,” says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

Stretching

She also makes sure to stretch. “If you ever can think of some dynamic stretches: F.A.S.T. ✨🙌 My left hip and right QLs have been SO tight lately so I’m on a journey of getting them right! What’s bugging you at the moment???” she captioned a post. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Here Is The Right Way To Run

During her interview with San Diego, Charli explained how you should be running. “Remember, the sole of the foot is showing right in front of us,” she said, doing a type of high-knee movement. “To do this, you’re over exaggerating your running form while standing still. Raise your knee up, point your toes to the clouds (forming an A), and then pedal the sole of your foot forward before striking your knee down. It’s more complicated than it sounds after 30-plus years of moving a certain way,” the writer explained.

Positive Attitude

In a recent post Charli revealed things she learned about positivity. “Patience is easier when it isn’t required,” she said. “The people around you are BLESSINGS (which I feel like I already understood but sometimes it’s nice to have it emphasized).” Also, “We are up, we are down, but trusting the process sometimes means knowing that it’s all good even when it’s not the best” and “Making a plan is the best option for everything. It’s ok if the plan doesn’t go perfect, but just willy-nilly-ing it is not the best option when you want to get things done.”

Never Giving Up

Charli refuses to give up. “Understand what you want first, and then go for it. Then keep going for it all the time, and, eventually, you’ll get it,” she said during her interview.
