Hehe,” she captioned the Instagram post of her gym workout. How does the athlete approach health and wellness? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
1. Social Media Breaks

Rachael takes social media breaks when needed. She recently “disappeared,” she explained to UFC, “because I just felt like I just needed to take a break. Sometimes social media can be very consuming and I've been. So my New Year's goal was to be more present. Sometimes we are on our phones a little longer than we should be, and I felt like Twitter was a little bit of a distraction and kind of un-needed…but turns out I need it! For fighting, especially. And it's a good tool to have, I just had to get to a place where I was ready for it. “
2. Body Love and Acceptance
Rachael embraces her body. “Being on tour and traveling makes it a little harder to keep my body on point. I used to be so crazy about working out pressured to be the best & at the highest level might I say ‘perfect’ .. yikes,” she wrote in a post. “I’ve been enjoying life a little more lately and there’s nothing wrong with that. I know a lot of my fan/followers always comment on my weight but understand I’m not in fight mode 24/7 or ever lately lol. Ive always been a thick mama and never walked even close to 125 lb lol (There’s more to life than fighting… oops I said it. ) Fighting will always be part of my life and was my obsession for a longggg time.”
3. Hotel Gym Workouts
In her previous post, Rachael confessed she has a thing for working out on the road. “Loveee working out at hotel gyms. One because they’re usually empty. 2 they’re open 24 hours and 3 they all got different machines, so I can try all types of new exercises,” she explained. In another post she added that she likes hotel gym machines. “They truly do make my life easier,” she said.
4. Stretching
Rachael doesn’t skip stretching. In one workout video she starts her “AM hotel workout” with a little stretch session. “A Shift in Energy,” she captioned the post. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”
5. Boxing
Boxing and kickboxing are essential for Rachael, as she an MMA fighter. “Tip: Punch it bare knuckle to build tolerance. Feels the closest to punching a real person. Did this a lot to get ready for my last BKFC fight. Highly recommend,” she wrote in the caption of her recent post. Harvard Health maintains that boxing is a great way to build strength, improve balance, posture, hand-eye coordination, boost mood and endurance, and helps increase alertness.
