Sofía Vergara is heating up social media with her latest vacation snaps in her swimsuit. In a few new social media posts the Modern Family babe flaunts her forever young figure in bathing suits, while spending time with her son, Manolo. “Waking up here with my favorites,” she captioned one of them. “Good morning,” she added in another. How does the actress, 51, look half her age? Celebwell rounded up her top self-care habits.

1. Baths

Sofía loves soaking in the tub. “2am jetlag planning how to get this bathtub to LA,” she joked in an Instagram post shared from Paris. How can baths do your body and mind good? They have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits.

2. Hydration

Sofía makes sure to drink a lot of water, especially after exercising or in the heat. Here she is on a vacation clutching onto a bottle of water. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

3. Yoga

Sofía is a big fan of a certain mind-body workout: Yoga. “Morning yoga in paradise,” she captioned a photo. There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” they said. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”

4. Meditation

Los,Angeles,-,Sep,26:,Sofia,Vergara,At,The,America'sShutterstock

Sofía also meditates. When she was married to Joe Manganiello she was photographed leaving a transcendental meditation class in Los Angeles. “When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress,” says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

5. Exercise

Sofía stressed the importance of exercise to Shape, even though she isn’t a big fan of it. "Everyone knows that I've never been into working out," Vergara says. "I was always very happy with what I have. Then I hit 40 and I started seeing a softness everywhere on my body

Sofia Vergara is single after announcing her split from husband Joe Manganiello—but probably won’t be for long, judging by her recent social media updates. Vergara, 51, shared stunning pictures of herself wearing a blue leopard print swimsuit while on vacation in Ravello, Italy. “Last days of vacay! Even when u r so hot I love u Ravello!!! 😁😁,” she captioned the post. “This is what single and 🔥looks like!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” commented her Modern Family co-star Julie Bowen. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Vergara stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. Yogurt and Fruit For Breakfast

Sofia,Vergara,At,The,Los,Angeles,Premiere,Of,'once,UponShutterstock

Vergara starts the day at 5 a.m. for Modern Family, and enjoys a protein-packed breakfast to set her up for a long day of shooting. “After the shower I grab a quick breakfast,” she says. “I usually prepare it the night before. One of my favorites is a kind of homemade muesli made of Greek yogurt, oats, chia seeds, nuts, and blueberries.”

2. Pilates and Cardio

Los,Angeles,-,Apr,04:,Sofia,Vergara,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

Vergara usually wraps up her work day between 1-5 p.m., which is when she makes time for her workouts. The actress swears by Pilates for a toned, strong, yet curvy physique. “After a quick lunch, I'll start a workout,” she says. “My go-to workout is a Pilates workout on the Lagree Fitness Megaformer machine. I also mix in spinning classes for cardio a couple of times per week."

3. Inspired By Julie Bowen

Vergara says she is inspired by Bowen, who has an impressive work ethic when it comes to exercise. According to Vergara, Bowen will go running even before the work day starts. “I hit 40 and I started seeing a softness everywhere on my body… I knew it was time to do something, so I did,” Vergara says. “Being around Julie and seeing how motivated she is … I started to think more about it.”

4. SPF Every Day

Vergara started her own SPF line Toty after dealing with the aftermath of sun damage from early tanning sessions. “The plan was always ‘go to the beach.’ We did it the wrong way. We didn’t know about protecting ourselves — we [applied] coconut oil,” she says. “It was like frying a chicken. Now I am paying for it.”

5. No Pain, No Cake

Vergara says moving to Los Angeles made her reassess her diet. “I already changed [my] mentality about food,” she says. “If you live here, you can’t always order the high-fat dishes like pasta with truffles. You have a little sushi, and when you’re out with your girlfriends you order a nice salad. When I do indulge, I exercise a bit harder the next day. My workout motto is really simple: No pain, no cake!”

Sofía Vergara just shared a “summer” throwback photo and, as usual, it’s hard to tell the difference between her at age 20, 30, 40 or 50. (The 50-year-old just had a birthday.) The Modern Family star works hard to stay in shape, but also enjoys the sweet things in life. Her husband, Joe Manganiello, also keeps her motivated, a fitness buff himself. How does she stay so fit? 1. She Does Lagree Fitness

She’s been doing Lagree Fitness for almost a decade. The workout is “a low-impact, high-intensity method that tightens and tones in as little as 20-minutes a session.” “I really love the workouts since then, because I have bad knees. I can’t do crazy things. And this is one of the workouts that I feel that I can finish and do most of the things without even thinking about my knees. For me, that's what hooked me to this workout,” she has said. “Because in one hour you feel like you do everything good. Like you feel like you completed one workout, then I'm done for the day. I don't have to think anymore about exercise. And actually, growing up in Latin America, there was not that culture. Right. You know, 30 something years ago.” She added: “It's not a pleasure to work out. So I do it because also because of my job and I'm in a place in my career where I need to have energy and look good and fitting into those tiny little dresses.”

2. Lagree Does Not Bore Her

As for Lagree: “It's great because… you don't get bored because there's so many exercises and… time flies. And I'm very glad that I found this because it's one of the few things that I can finish. I always explain it as the ‘necessary torture.’ Like, you know, like at the beginning they will tell me an exercise. I'm like, no, I can't do this. And I would be like, no, it's horrible. It's horrible. Now. I'm like, I, I get it. I can do it.”

3. She Opens Her Mouth Wide When Eating on Purpose

On Ellen, she host showed photos of Vergara eating with her mouth open very wide. “Well, first of all, I didn't know I was doing that. I didn't know I had a problem until people started posting pictures of me, from paparazzi, of me eating. And then I started to realize it's like, what is wrong with me? Well, but you know, you have to give it to me that I'm always long hours on a set. You get bored, you get, you know, a little anxious and what else are you going to do? right. But I have a technique that my makeup artist appreciates because you open the mouth really wide and you don't mess up your lipstick.”

4. She Tries to Work Out Three Times a Week

“I try to have a routine, but sometimes it's hard because of the kind of job that I have,” she has said. “For example, I woke up today at three in the morning. So today's not gonna be a workout day for me, no matter what, I know that I'm not gonna have the energy at the end of the day. So I try to work out according to my schedule, my shooting schedule. If I'm traveling, I usually don't work out. But I try to squeeze in at least three times a week working out. I try to sleep well. And because, I mean, I think it's important when you do that kind of job that I do to sleep well.”

5. She Craves sweets

“I have never been into crazy diets. So I usually try to eat healthy of course, because I love vegetables and I love healthy food and juices, so I'm pretty good with that. My problem always has been my obsession with sweets and that's why I'm here today because it's one of my biggest secrets is that I've always been trying to figure out a way to get away with trying to eat something sweet after a meal,” she said about Skinny Cow.

Demi Moore, at 58, is as body confident as ever, posing in a swimsuit with her daughters in a new campaign for Andie swimwear. “LDW ready, with @andieswim,” she captioned the photo on Instagram, referring to the long weekend. 1. She’s Happy to Be Where She Is

Demi's approach to life? "It's about embracing and no longer looking for what's wrong and really being in acceptance of everything. Gravity is going in directions that I'm not so fond of. I can look in the mirror occasionally and say 'you're lying, I don't look like that.' but the reality is the comfort I feel in my skin is the greatest gift. I wouldn't trade it. I'm just happy to be where I am," she told InStyle.

2. She Knows Things Change

Celebration Of Women In Cinema Gala Hosted By The Red Sea Film Festival - The 78th Venice International Film FestivalDaniele Venturelli/Getty Images

“Things do change,” Demi told W Magazine not too long ago. “The biggest difference, I think, is that I’m not in nearly as good shape physically as I have been before, and I have skin going in a direction that I would prefer it not go. There are things that just come with getting older. But I think my big mantra for this year is about acceptance. I was reading this book that was written around 1919, if I am remembering correctly, and it was very of its day. It was discussing all the ‘female’ concerns. There were some horrific suggestions on how to take care of yourself, including putting some kind of acid on your skin. But there was one thing I took away, because I think it’s true—the author said not to frown because at a certain point it will stick. And what speaks to me here is that I do believe that when we hold upset, anger, hurt, pain or bitterness, it ages us and we wear it. That isn’t to say we are always going to feel happy. But it’s important not to hold on to things.”

3. She Was Once a Workout Obsessive

Harper's Bazaar Exhibtion At Musee Des Arts Decoratifs In ParisPascal Le Segretain/Getty Images

When getting ready for certain revealing scenes in movies, “I cut out carbs, I ran, and I biked, and I worked out on every machine imaginable. I didn’t feel like I could stop exercising,” she wrote in her book. “It was my job to fit into that unforgiving military uniform I’d be wearing in two months in A Few Good Men. Getting in shape for that movie launched the obsession with working out that would consume me over the next five years. I never dared let up.”

4. She’s Used the Mirror

Tom Ford AW20 Show - ArrivalsMike Coppola/FilmMagic

Now Demi is more likely to use the Mirror, the workout device that is an actual mirror on your wall, with built-in videos that play on it. "15 min at level 1 that’s doable … right? I am stalling!" Demi wrote once in a post. "This is going to be my next jam. Okay, here I go, wish me luck."

5. She Loves Andie Swimwear

"Demi was an early investor," Andie's founder and CEO, Melanie Travis, told InStyle. "We've always talked about what would make sense to do together, and then back in December of 2020 — in anticipation of a successful vaccine rollout and then what would hopefully be a great summer of friends and family, being able to travel, and get together again, across the United States — we felt like this could be the perfect summer to do a campaign together."

Salma Hayek Swears by These Habits

Salma Hayek has been sizzling up the big screen for decades and has barely aged. She is 58 and looks decades younger. What is her secret? The star recently told Elle that “no Botox, no peels, no fillers” is involved in her ageless beauty. What is her secret to staying youthful as she closes in on 60? Here are all of her forever young habits.

Habit One: Restorative Yoga[

Salma isn’t a fan of formal sweat sessions. “‘I don’t have time to exercise, I am working,” Salma told People. Instead, she practices restorative yoga is her exercise of choice. “I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long,” she explained. “So even when you brush your teeth, you’re working the muscles,” she added. “She taught me to tone my muscles without clenching them. You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you’re aware of your body, you’d be surprised by the effect it can have.”

Habit Two: She Eats (Mostly) Plant-Based

“I don't like to diet and I'm not good at it,” Salma dished on her website. She fills her plate with fruit, veggies, and leans meats, fish, and juice. “When I feel stressed, I turn to food for comfort,” she continued. She tries not to eat meat. “The only thing I do is that I don’t eat animals every day. I eat all kinds of meat, but I consume it sparsely,” she added to the New York Times . “I would never eat two meats in a day. Sometimes I go several days without eating meat, but then I’ll go back.”

Habit Three: Meditation

Hayek also believes that beauty and longevity come from within. “I really believe it is. People say it’s exercising. I think it’s meditation,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “You have to find your way. For me, exercising is hard. It’s really, really difficult to have the discipline to do it. But meditation is a walk in the park, because it’s my own form of it. When I don’t for some time, guess what? Not only the face starts to drop and everything starts to drop, but my herniated disc, the problem in my neck, the problem in my hip, my ankles. I start breaking down.” She added that she practices meditation “every day.”

Habit Four: Massage

Regular rubdowns are another one of her healthy habits. “You have to find a good person that gives a good massage,” she told Inquisitr. “I have a [massage therapist], but she lives in Japan. She only comes to London every once in a while. But when she comes, she's my secret weapon. Massage oxygenates, activates the circulation, and keeps the muscles healthy and firm. I cannot tell you, even just for the lymphatic [system], what the massage does for the face.”

Habit Five: Juice Cleanses

Salma loves juicing and even started her own company. “After doing a juice cleanse, I'm motivated to eat healthier and not emotionally. Cleansing is like my meditation. It makes me stop, focus and think about what I'm putting into my body. I'm making a commitment to my health and hitting the reset button,” she said.

It’s almost impossible to fathom that Jane Fonda is nearing 90. The actress and fitness legend turned 87 in December but somehow looks a fraction of her age. How has she managed to slow down the aging process? According to her, it all has to do with a few simple dietary rules that she follows. Here is what you need to know about her longevity diet.

Her Secret? A Balanced Diet

Fonda’s main secret? It’s all about moderation. "Most diets focus on weight loss on the scale, and they impose temporary and often unhealthy restrictive behavior," she said in a 2012 video for BeFiT. "Unfortunately, this scenario sets us up to fail." She cited research stating that 80% of dieters “will regain all or most of the weight that they lost within two years.” You won’t find her on a diet. “Fad diets are the ones promising unrealistic results. You should not try to lose more than two to three pounds per week, max," she said.

She Eats Breakfast

"Every morning, commit to starting the day with a nutritious breakfast. People who do so tend to lose weight," she said in the video. "Breakfast, by the way, is the most important meal of the day, and making a good choice there will set you up for success for the rest of the day."

She Cheats, in Moderation

Fonda also indulges on occasion. "You don't want to feel deprived," she points out in the video. "You can't sustain that over the long haul. So, if you have a piece of chocolate, it's OK—just don't eat the whole box, or maybe take a longer walk tomorrow."

"I eat a fairly healthy diet. I'm not rigid," she dished to Vogue. "I have cut way back on red meat. I've cut back on fish because fish supplies are dwindling. I eat vegetables. I eat salads. I eat fresh food. I'm just careful about what I eat. I don't eat a lot of sugar, except lately I have."

When She Eats More, She Exercises More

When Fonda indulges in "unhealthy" food, she exercises more. "I was in Italy for two and a half months making the sequel to Book Club, and ate gelato and pasta every single day while I was there," she told Vogue. "But I never gained weight. I would get up at six in the morning before the heat hit and walk for an hour, hour and a half, two hours on days when the work permitted me to do that. I walk a lot, and that helps me."

Do you want an ab-fab body like Halle Berry at 58? The star has shared some of the “essential core workouts” she does with her trainer, Peter Lee Thomas. In a post, she revealed that the ab moves are “the kinds of exercises I do to accelerate muscular ab growth,” she wrote. “ What I’ve learned throughout my training this past year is that a strong core supports EVERY other part of your body, and if you’re performing exercises correctly, you’re always engaging your core - now that’s a win / win! Enjoy.”

The first ab exercise she does is bear crawl bench up and downs. Here’s how to do it: Get down on your hands and knees, facing a couch or bench. Make sure your hands are directly under your shoulders with your knees off the floor, putting weight on your toes. Slowly lift your left hand without twisting your hips, placing it on the bench. Then do the same with your right. Return to your starting position, one hand at a time.

The final exercise? Hanging windshield wipers. Again, start by hanging from a pullup bar with your legs dangling. Lift your butt and legs into the air using your core. Once your back is parallel with the floor swing your legs up to the left side of your body. Using your obliques, swing them to the other side.
