Namrita Malla is a successful dancer, choreographer, and actress. She’s appeared in films like Don Kumara, Chor Bazaar, and Ahimsa. She also shares a lot of dance videos on her YouTube and Instagram pages. Namrita wears a lot of gorgeous costumes on stage. Recently, she posted a set of photos of herself in a green jeweled bikini top and long skirt. Namrita’s amazing body was on display. She captioned the photos, “Confidence ho toh har look perfect ban जाता है 😎❤️” How does Namrita Malla keep herself in shape? Here are 5 of her secrets.

1

She Dances

Dancing is obviously one of the things Namrita does to keep herself in shape. According to Rocky Mountain Health Plans, dancing has a lot of benefits. “If the idea of running or cycling makes your knees ache, dancing is a gentler form of cardio worth trying. Many types of dance are low-impact, which is great news for your joints. Fabio Comana, an exercise physiologist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), dancing doesn’t just improve components of overall fitness including cardiovascular endurance and body composition , but can also help your muscular endurance. Additionally, dancing helps with flexibility, balance, agility, coordination, power, reactivity and speed.”

She Does Squats

Before Namrita goes on stage to perform, she makes sure to warm up. She shared some of her favorite exercises to do in this Instagram video. One thing she is seen doing is squats. According to Piedmont, squats have a lot of health benefits. “Squats are a compound, multi-joint movement, which means they exercise several muscle groups. When you perform a squat, you work your calves, quads, hamstrings, glutes, core and part of your back. A squat has more overall benefits than, say, a bicep curl, which strengthens an isolated area.”

3

She Does Lunges

In the previous Instagram video, Namrita is seen doing side lunges to warm up. According to The Mayo Clinic, lunges have a lot of benefits. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles. The lunge is a great conditioning exercise for many sports, especially those that involve lunging movements, such as tennis, basketball or soccer.”

She Swims

Namrita loves going to the beach and going for a swim. She is seen wading in the ocean in this reel she posted to her Instagram. Swimming and spending time in the water has a lot of benefits. Northern Healthcare states, “Swimming is considered an excellent means of relaxing the body, calming the mind, and reducing anxiety. Some spas even incorporate underwater music to amplify the soothing experience. Additionally, individuals residing in coastal areas report higher levels of well-being.

She Stretches

Namrita makes sure that she stretches before going on stage. She is seen doing hip and leg stretches in this video on her Instagram. Harvard Medical School states that stretching is extremely important. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”
