She Strength Trains
Aughey does a lot of strength training to keep herself in shape. She shares a lot of videos on Instagram of herself using weights. Aughey shared this video of herself using large dumbbells. She captioned it, “These were rough 😅 but tryna hit the 150’s 😤.” ACE Fitness states that strength training has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”
She Does Upper Body Workouts
Aughey does a lot of upper body workouts to keep herself in shape. She shared this post on Instagram of herself doing various upper body workouts. Aughey captioned it, “Tuesday’s garage workout (yes, I know the garage is messy) 😅 Was a beautiful day and I just wanted to get a little pump, so this was the workout. 1. Single arm DB chest press 4x8-10 each side (vid not shown) 2. DB incline chest press 3x12 3. DB chest fly 3x12-15 4. Dips 3x15 5. DB skull crushers 4x12 6. Push ups 3x failure (not shown).”
She Does Hip Thrusts
Aughey doesn’t skip leg day. One exercise she likes to do is hip thrusts. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing them with a barbell. Aughey captioned the post, “Just call me if ya need some hams 👀 (just don’t look at the calves) 😆” Gymless states that the exercise has a lot of benefits. “Hip thrusts, as a compound movement, aid in increasing lower body strength and power, enhancing athletic abilities such as running, jumping, and powerlifting.”
She Hikes
Aughey likes to go for hikes to keep herself in shape. She shared this photo on Instagram of herself on a rock overlooking the forest. ACE Fitness states that hiking has a lot of benefits. “Hiking helps increase the strength in the leg muscles, builds stability in the core muscles and enhances balance skills. The more technical the terrain is, along with an increase in climbing intensity, the more balance and core strength is required because more muscles are being recruited to manage the steeper terrain. As you climb, the larger muscles in your legs are activated (such as the quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings and calves), and on the descent, your glutes and quadriceps are working hard to prevent you from falling forward on the decline. Uneven terrain means many of the smaller stabilizer muscles are being worked, which increases stability and balance overall.”
She Does Squats
Aughey also likes to do squats to keep herself in shape. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing Bulgarian split squats with weights.
