Boe explores Scotland and shares wellness journey, promoting positivity.

Alisha Boe, celebrated for her role in "13 Reasons Why," recently embraced the rugged landscapes of Scotland through hiking and swimming, sharing her adventures on Instagram with the caption, "Love a hike love a dip!" Her active lifestyle is highlighted by her love for hiking, which serves as an effective cardiovascular workout reducing risks of serious health issues, and swimming, known for its extensive physical and mental health benefits. Boe also advocates for mental wellness through yoga, emphasizing its role in managing anxiety and promoting holistic well-being. Beyond physical activities, she is committed to nurturing positivity both in her personal life and on social media, addressing the challenges and benefits of digital spaces in shaping public discourse around mental health and positivity.

She Hikes

As you can see from her Instagram post, Boe loves to hike to stay in shape. According to Piedmont, hiking has a lot of health benefits. "Going up and down hills gets the heart pumping, creating a great cardio workout. Like most cardio exercises, hiking helps reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even some cancers."

She Swims

As you can also see in her Instagram post, Boe swims to keep herself in shape. Better Health states that swimming has a lot of health benefits. "Swimming is a great workout because you need to move your whole body against the resistance of the water. Swimming is a good all-round activity because it: keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body, builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness."

She Does Yoga

Boe revealed to Yahoo Life that she loves to practice yoga. "I got inspired through yoga teachers during quarantine. I got into practicing yoga. The classes stress peace of mind, wellness and meditation through movement — and make me really aware of how to take care of my well-being in a holistic way…Which is SO hard, by the way! When you actually sit down and take a second to do breathing exercises, it affects your whole body. I've found it so amazing but difficult, too. It's the best tool for anxiety or panic attacks… you can do breathing exercises from anywhere and it really grounds you."

She Takes Care Of Her Mental Health

Boe shared how she takes care of her mental health in her Yahoo Life interview. "It's a lifelong journey. I remind myself to write down positive affirmations and to care for others — which is a huge practice for me. When I take care of the people I love, I feel loved back… [I also] reach out to my support system when I'm feeling down. I love to start and end my day with journaling — just getting all my thoughts out on paper makes my day feel more organized and streamlined. I love doing yoga and going for walks in nature, with friends or in solitude. Oh, and reading!"

She Believes In Positivity

Boe is all about positivity, especially on social media. She tells Yahoo Life, "I can divide my life up by what social media platform was most popular at that time. Unfortunately, growing up, that made it easy to be cyberbullied and I've had to navigate that world. There's a fine line between finding positivity through these social media platforms and also protecting yourself and the people you care about. The way I approach that is making sure that I am creating positivity through my social media platforms — and I stand up for people if I see any negativity on those platforms."
