1. Working Out Six Days a Week

Paul is dedicated to her workout routine. “Six days a week, I do an hour of cardio; either swimming or the stationary bike,” she told Natural Awakenings. “Every other day I practice yoga for at least 45 minutes to ensure that my back stays pain-free. Once a week, I go hiking for two hours with friends, chatting the whole time, which all makes it worth getting up at 4:30 a.m. I walk whenever I’m on a conference call, either outside or at my tread desk, a simple treadmill under a standing desk; I’m walking on it when I’m reading or answering emails, too. It’s the best present I ever gave myself.
2. Multitasking Queen
Paul is the queen of multitasking. “I don’t have children, I don’t watch a lot of television and I am good at multitasking,” she told Inspire Health. “For example, I am taking an advanced coaching course right now, so I listen to lectures while I stretch and do yoga. I read non-fiction, educational books when I ride the stationary bike. I’m walking on a trail as I talk to you right now!”
3. Helping Others
Paul is a certified wellness coach, and thrives when she’s helping others achieve their goals. “I’ve always been interested in health and fitness,” she told Inspire Health. “I wanted to help people, especially women, feel better about themselves. I understand so well the pain that comes from not feeling good about yourself.”
4. Early Bird
Paul loves waking up early and recommends it for her clients. “I think that time is a huge issue with my clients,”she told Inspire Health. “One of the reasons people think they can’t exercise or prepare healthy meals is because they think they don’t have the time. It is hard to find that time and people do have to decide what their priorities are. I wake up early and when you are awake at 6 a.m. there is not a lot that gets in the way – meetings usually don’t take place that time of the day. So, I am more likely to get my workouts in then.”
5. Healthy Lifestyle
Paul avoids habits that would harm her health and fitness. “My husband Ian and I go to bed early and generally get up with the sun. I’ve never consumed coffee, soda or alcohol, only water and protein shakes,” she told Natural Awakenings. “I believe being a vegetarian, and now a vegan, has given me tons of energy. I also prioritize making time for my workout routine, and that helps me feel good every day.”
