Reshanna Boswell is an accomplished bodybuilder and trainer who shares glimpses of her fitness journey and impressive physique with her Instagram followers. Recently, she posted a video of herself posing confidently in a red tank top and black sweats, captioned, “Michael Jackson bad.” Known for her commitment to preserving muscle, Boswell is dedicated to a high-protein, high-fat diet that fuels her strength goals, even through intense cardio. Her approach to fitness is as dynamic as her training, incorporating techniques like salt manipulation during competition prep. Driven by her passion for teaching sustainable health, Boswell tailors her training and nutrition plans to push clients beyond their limits safely. Her journey is inspiring for anyone looking to build a strong and balanced lifestyle.

1. She Does Squats

Boswell shared this video on Instagram of herself doing squats. Piedmont states that squats have a lot of benefits. “Squats are a compound, multi-joint movement, which means they exercise several muscle groups. When you perform a squat, you work your calves, quads, hamstrings, glutes, core and part of your back. A squat has more overall benefits than, say, a bicep curl, which strengthens an isolated area.”

2. She Preserves Muscle

Boswell shared some of her tips for staying in shape for competitions in an interview with The Moti. In it, she shared how she keeps her muscles preserved. “For me, I do my BCAs strictly just with my fasted cardio just to help preserve as much muscle as possible, because I do a lot of cardio, but I feel like everyone's kind of different. But for the most part I feel like the BCAs, as long as you're taking them. Take it with your fasted cardio. If they have fasted cardio in their program, I just have them do BCAs with that. I want you to get leaner, but I don't want to sacrifice muscle at the same time.”

3. She Eats A Lot Of Protein & Fat

Boswell also revealed to The Moti that she eats a lot of protein and fat in her diet. “I do a high protein, high fat diet for the most part. So I think even today my first meal was six ounces of chicken and two tablespoons of peanut butter. So it was kind of a random combination, but it works. It works. I do a lot of cardio, unfortunately. I mean, and my body just for me to burn off a lot of my fat lower body wise takes an extra couple weeks, my lower hat, and I just say it's like black girl problems. I have my butt and all that stuff. Just takes a while to drop down. That's the last part to respond. But yeah, I mean I do a pretty high fat diet. Avocados, peanut butter, all that stuff pretty much stays in the duration to prep. Most people can't do it. I don't think it's high of a fat, but it works. And my body responds to it pretty well.”

4. She’s Passionate

In an interview with Evolve Fitness Chicago, Boswell talked about being passionate about her work. “I am more than passionate about what I do. I am here to teach a lifestyle that is sustainable long after you have reached your goals. My goal with each and every client is to push you past what you thought you were capable of. I will achieve this in the safest way possible to avoid injury, but will push you outside your comfort zone. I also create each and every meal plan because, like they say, you can not out-train a bad diet. Each workout will be unique and customized. I can work a muscle group a hundred different ways, and that's what we will do if that's what it takes.

5. She Does Salt Manipulation

Boswell tells The Moti that she adapts a salt manipulation plan to prepare for competitions. “We do salt manipulation. I am not doing any salt right now. Whatever I have tonight will be the salt that we get and that should carry me over till tomorrow. And I should fill out pretty well tomorrow. It's still a little bit flat right now, so I'll fill out tomorrow with the burger and the fries and then the dessert. We usually have about 10 days out, we'll add in a bunch of salt and I'll put salt on every meal. Pretty much just salt everything. And then we cut it as we get closer to the show. But we start that about 10 days out purposely salting every single meal. So yeah, it's interesting. It's been an interesting process. But yeah, it's working, so I can't really complain too much.”
