Serena Abweh is a fitness expert, powerlifter, and competitor in the IFBB who regularly shares her fitness journey on Instagram. Recently, she posted a video of herself posing in workout clothes at the gym, captioning it with a simple “Hello.” Known for her dedication to strength training and a positive mindset, Abweh encourages her followers to embrace hard work, self-acceptance, and individuality. Her social media presence is not just about showing off workouts but also spreading messages about mental well-being and body positivity. She focuses on being comfortable in her own skin and working hard to achieve her goals. Through her inspiring posts, Abweh motivates others to push past their limits and not fall into the trap of comparing themselves to others online. Here are some of her key habits.

1. She Lifts Weights

Abweh likes to lift weights to stay in shape. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing so. According to ACE Fitness, lifting weights is very beneficial. “Using maximal loads for compound (multi-joint) movements like the deadlift, squat-to-shoulder press, bent-over row or chest press can improve intermuscular coordination, which is the ability of many muscles to work together to generate and control high levels of force through multiple joints.”

2. She Does Pull-Ups

Abweh also likes to do pull-ups to keep herself in shape, specifically her upper body. In this workout video she posted on her Instagram, Abweh is seen doing pull ups. She captioned the post, “Do you think if you do enough pull ups it will stretch out your spine so you can get taller?? (Asking for a friend, totally not for me, I’m 7’10 on a good day without high heels on).”

3. She Ignores Social Media

Abweh might be a figure on social media, but that doesn’t mean she wants her followers to compare themselves to her. Abweh doesn’t compare herself to others, and she talked about this in the caption of this post. “Hey you, YEA YOU! Don’t let that precious mind of yours be fooled by the facade of perfection that is often portrayed on social media. We all have fall victim to both sides. Of course we want to take the best pictures of ourselves and post them, nothing wrong with that (unless you’re editing and photoshopping the hell out of em which can be so detrimental) But we have to consciously be aware that these pictures we see are peoples highlight reels. We don’t see the other hundreds of pictures that aren’t posted or the judgmental comments we make looking back at the ‘bad’ pictures that didn’t make it. We hear it all the time to not compare ourselves to others, but it is SO hard not to, sometimes we’re not even consciously aware that we’re doing it.”

4. She’s Comfortable With Herself

In the caption of the same post, Abweh talked about being comfortable with herself. “The truth is, we will never look like anyone else, other than ourselves. It’s ok to have idolization and people to look up to to live a healthier life, but if your goal is to physically look exactly like them, you’re only disappointing yourself. That is why all we can do is compare ourselves to the person we were yesterday. Give yourself a pat on the back for how far you came, despite all the obstacles you may have faced. Embrace your individuality, and what makes you uniquely you. Because that is what truly makes you beautiful. (Or handsome whatever you liked to be called hehe).”

5. She Works Hard

Abweh makes sure to work hard to stay in shape. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. In it, she detailed her weight loss and body transformation. Abweh captioned the post, “65lbs ➡️ 110lbs. This is so much more than the weight I gained. Every pound has brought me life, amazing friends, and a life worth fighting for. Even if life is shitty sometimes, view it as an opportunity to make you stronger. Never give up on yourself.❤️”
