Catherine Zeta-Jones in Workout Gear Golfs and Says "Go Green!"
Catherine Zeta-Jones is golfing with her husband, Michael Douglas, in her workout gear. In a new social media post the actress and her hubby spend some quality time together on the golf course, showing off her famous figure in golf gear. "Go Green!! Weekend away!! Happy wife, happy life," she captioned the Instagram photo. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
Real Food
Catherine tries to eat food she can pronounce "I only actually eat real food because I have to right now. My dream is to only eat desserts, ever. It's a goal," she told WSJ. Magazine. She also sticks to a schedule. "I'm a big kind of European, three meals a day [person]," she added. "In the whole lockdown, I relished having my kids and my husband here for breakfast, lunch and dinner."
Lots of Workouts
"I don't have a trainer. Crazy, right? But I don't need anyone to motivate me," she told InStyle. "I love exercise, even things like the elliptical machine and stretching." She also revealed to W that swimming, tennis, peloton, working out in her home gym and tap dancing are some of her other favorite workouts.
Dancing
Catherine has been dancing since she was a kid and still does it for exercise. "I have a ballet barre in my gym," she told The Telegraph. "I turn the music up so loud that the walls are pulsating, and I go for it for an hour. I also hula-hoop, walk on the treadmill, do the elliptical [machine]. I try to keep the whole body working." Dancing is a great workout for many reasons. Not only does it build strength and promote flexibility, but helps you lose weight and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop heart disease or die from it than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues.
Exercise for Mental Health
Catherine exercises "at least 45 minutes a day, seven days a week," she told InStyle. "It really helps my mood too, which, with the bipolar thing, is important," she said.
Hydration
Catherine explained to W that she drinks a lot of water to maintain her PH balance. She also avoids alcohol. In addition to her healthy diet, this helps keep her "body free of any inflammation inside and out." Cold press juice and Kombucha are also part of her hydration routine. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.
Golf
In her recent post, Catherine golfs.A comprehensive review published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that golf's health benefits are extensive, including mind, body, and even lifespan. Benefits include improved longevity, decreased risk of developing heart disease or suffering a stroke, good mental health, and improved strength and balance.
