Melissa Alcantara, a well-known personal trainer with famous clients like Kim Kardashian, regularly shares her go-to workouts and recipes on Instagram. From heart-healthy oatmeal to energizing workouts with bosu balls and dumbbells, Melissa’s posts offer a glimpse into her fitness-driven lifestyle. Her approach to food is just as mindful as her workouts, focusing on simple yet nourishing meals like oatmeal topped with caramelized bananas and perfectly cooked eggs. Whether she’s sharing a quick 20-minute workout or a recipe that fuels her day, Melissa’s Instagram is full of tips that help her followers live a healthier, more balanced life. Here's a closer look at some of her favorite health habits.

1. She Loves Oats

As you can see from her Instagram post, Alcantara loves oats. According to Harvard Health, they have a lot of benefits. “Oats contain several components that have been proposed to exert health benefits. The primary type of soluble fiber in oats is beta-glucan, which has been researched to help slow digestion, increase satiety, and suppress appetite. Beta-glucan can bind with cholesterol-rich bile acids in the intestine and transport them through the digestive tract and eventually out of the body. Whole oats also contain plant chemicals called phenolic compounds and phytoestrogens that act as antioxidants to reduce the damaging effects of chronic inflammation that is associated with various diseases like cardiovascular disease and diabetes.”

2. She Loves Bananas

Melissa Alcantara.2Melissa Alcantara/Instagram

Alcantara also enjoys eating bananas, as we learned from her Instagram post. The Cleveland Clinic reports that bananas have a lot of benefits. “With 3 grams (g) of fiber, a banana supplies nearly 10% of what you need in a day, based on a 2,000-calorie daily diet, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) dietary guidelines.”

3. She Loves Eggs

Alcantara also enjoys eating eggs. She shared one of her favorite recipes for them in this Instagram video. Alcantara captioned it, “Fun Fit Foods…the best 7 minutes eggs!!! Works every single time! 1. boil water, make sure it’s BOILING not just bubbling! 2. Softly set your eggs in the water or they can break, even small cracks will make a difference in how your egg cooks. 3. Set your timer for 7 minutes not a second more! 4. Run your eggs under cold water. #healthyeating. 5. Crack those suckers, salt and ENJOY!! 😉”

4. She Uses A Bosu Ball

Alcantara likes to use a bosu ball when she works out. She shared some of her favorite exercises to do with it in this Instagram video. In it, she is seen doing plank jacks, stability squats, side to sides, and suicides. Alcantara captioned the post, “25 min Cardio Bosu Workout SAVE this!! 4 moves 4 rounds. 45 seconds on 15 seconds rest. Take 1 min break after you complete all 4 moves then do it again for 4 rounds. Enjoy!!”

5. She Uses Dumbbells

Alcantara also likes to use dumbbells to workout. She shared this video of herself using them on Instagram. Alcantara captioned it, “20 Min Full Body Dumbbell weekend workout!! 5 moves. Do each move one after the other, 45 seconds on 15 seconds rest. When you’ve completed all 5 moves take a 1 minute rest then do it again for 3 full rounds! SAVE and SHARE this and do it weekly or combine it with another one of my 20 minute workouts for a killer cardio training day.”

Melissa Pfeister is sharing a “work it Wednesday” workout – in her two-piece workout clothes. In a new social media post the trainer and fitness influencer shows off her amazing body in skintight workout wear while breaking a sweat. “Want a lady in the streets but a freak in the…gym 😜💪🏻🔥 #workitwednesday,” she captioned the video. If you want to sweat like Melissa – and eat like her – here is everything you need to know about her workout and eating habits.

1. Here Is Her Workout

In the clip, Melissa does 12 to 15 reps of each exercise and 2 to 3 sets:

  1. Plank row
  2. Weighted crunch reach
  3. Plank pull thrus

“This was more of a core workout but overall a pretty good workout,” explains Kendra Gamble, HIT Fitness Training, Huntingdon Valley, PA, NPTI Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritional Consultant. “I would have thrown in a rotational exercise or some oblique exercise to target the entire core.”

2. Recreating Her Favorite Dishes in a “Healthy Way”

Melissa, who competed on Food Network Star, explains her goal when it comes to cooking. “I take foods that maybe aren’t the best for you and re-create them in a healthy way,” she told them. “My greatest strength I would say is adapting. I eat healthy, and I have a lot of allergies ... I’ve always had allergies my whole life. ... Lactose, dairy, I’ve always been that, and then as I started getting older, more allergies developed. So, you really have to learn how to, like, get creative with food if you want to be able to eat something. ... If cheese is in something, what else can I put in it?”

3. Living Off Green Drinks

Melissa also loves to drink her greens. “Some people may think it’s weird — I don’t. I live off of green drinks where it’s, like, you know, your kale your spinach your parsley your apple,” she says.

4. Baked French Fries and Chicken Fingers

Melissa’s signature dish? “It’s baked, not fried, French fries, but they have flavor; they have taste. Or chicken fingers, but same thing — a healthy version. So ... simple things,” she says.

5. Cheat Meals

Bangkok,-,May,26,,2019,:,Top,View,Of,DiaryShutterstock

Her “guilty pleasure” food? “I mean, Dairy Queen for sure. The thing is I’m happy that I don’t know here Dairy Queen is around me in LA, so it’s kind of a good thing. But when in doubt, if it’s, like, ‘no, I don’t care, I am just going for it,’ then I will just drive myself to the store, and I will get an either Oreo or cookie dough ice cream, and then I’ll be sick, because [of] my dairy issues. But eating it those few bites — it’ll be worth it.” She admits, “if my stomach would allow me to eat a Dairy Queen Blizzard every day, I would eat one, extra Oreos and cookie dough. You go big or go home. That’s it.”

6. Eating Out, But Healthy

Apanese,Sushi,Food.,Maki,Ands,Rolls,With,Tuna,,Salmon,,Shrimp,Shutterstock

Melissa, a member of the ETNT Medical Review board, explained to the publication that eating out at restaurants doesn’t have to be sinful. "It's all about the choices you make," says Melissa. "For instance, my first thought [of a healthy option] would be a sushi restaurant with lots of edamame and lots of fresh fish and seafood, but then again, you can order fried rock shrimp tempura in a creamy aioli sauce there, too. You just have to look a little harder and be a little more creative, but healthy options are always, always there."

Melissa Joan Hart is celebrating workout success – in her exercise clothes. In a new social media post the Sabrina the Teenage Witch star shows off her amazing body after a sweat session at her husband’s gym. “When the hot 🔥 owner is your husband, you get a shoulder ride to post your 100th class photo on the wall! @bft_brentwood,” she captioned the post. “This is the best!! Way to go sis!!!” commented one of her followers. “Lucky lucky man…” added another. How does the actress approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. Motivation: Her Family

It’s all about motivation when it comes to weight loss, according to Melissa who lost 40 pounds in 2014. “Being able to take off layers or put on a jean that’s a size smaller is so refreshing and it just makes it easier just to move through life,” she said in a video for E! “Especially when chasing children. It just makes it easier for me to play with them and run after them and have the energy.” She added: “Staying in shape and staying fit is so important in my life just because of all the things I want to do.” Some more weight loss benefits? “It just made me happier. It made me feel physically and emotionally lighter to be able to do the things I wanna do, to be able to wear the clothes I wanna wear, to be able to feel sexy around my husband again,” she said. “I’m very proud of myself.”

2. Workouts with Her Husband

Melissa’s husband, who owns BFT Brentwood, a Nashville workout studio that focuses on group strength training and conditioning, is her personal trainer. “Since he’s such an avid workout guy, I wanted to have him train me to see how my body could shift and change,” she told People. While she takes classes like everyone else, she also trains with him for one hour, three times a week, mostly focusing on weight training.

3. Cardio Twice a Week

Melissa also does cardio two other days a week. Her go-to form is spinning. Why is it a great workout? According to the Cleveland Clinic, biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

4. Shakes

Sporty,Young,Woman,With,Protein,At,Home,,CloseupShutterstock

Melissa is a fan of Slim Fast shakes. “If my kids are eating something I don’t want, like pizza or burgers, I can have a shake, and it’s satisfying,” Melissa told Us. “It gets me through the night without any cravings, and I feel so much better the next day.”

5. Treat Yourself

Melissa doesn’t deprive herself. "One of my slimming secrets is to treat yourself. It can't be about deprivation. If I want to have a piece of cake or a slice of pizza, I do. And then I get back on track the next day," she told Us.

Fitness influencer Kayla Itsines built a successful business with her training and workout programs, but still shares plenty of content for free on her social media (thanks Kayla!). Itsines, 32, posted a video of herself black workout shorts and a sports bra, showing followers how to perfect a hover and shoulder tap. “You are a nonstop inspiration for me, and I just wanted to thank you for your positivity, realness, great attitude, and persistence. You're a great force in the world! ✨” a fan commented. Here’s what Itsines’ approach to wellness looks like, and her best workout advice.

1. Her Daily Workout

Kayla.ItsinesKayla Itsines

Itsines combines low and high impact exercises for her personal workout routine. “My BBG program [now called High Impact with Kayla] consists of three resistance workouts per week which I normally schedule on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday,” she tells Vogue Australia. “With my current schedule, working out at 7:30pm at night has been working best for me as Arna has gone to sleep and my family is around to watch over her so I know I can get 28-minutes in without being interrupted. I’ve also been aiming for four to five LISS (low-intensity steady state cardio) sessions per week which I’ll often do first thing in the morning on my treadmill at home before Arna wakes up."

2. Olive Oil With Breakfast

Bowl,Of,Fresh,Olive,Oil,And,Olive,Branches,On,WhiteShutterstock

Itsines’ breakfast changes depending on whether she’s eating at home, or in a cafe (where eggs are usually her first choice). “If I’m eating breakfast at home, I’ll often have a lot of vegetables with two pieces of toast,” she says on her website. “If they are in season, I eat tomatoes, capsicum (bell pepper) and cucumbers from Yiayia and Papou's garden, and if I feel like it, I might add some avocado. I drizzle olive oil over the vegetables, along with some fresh basil, dried oregano, and salt and pepper. I eat my toast with olive oil (yes, that’s even more olive oil — what can I say, I’m Greek!) as I prefer it to butter. I’m lactose sensitive (I used to have lactose intolerance as a kid) so I try to limit my dairy intake where I can, and in the case of butter, I actually just don’t like the taste. I’ll also have a Turkish coffee with breakfast at home.”

3. Protein and Carbs

Itsines’s lunch and dinner vary depending on who she is enjoying her food with. “If I’m at home, I’ll often make a quick tuna salad,” she says on her website. “When we eat [dinner] together as a family, we have a lot of shared dishes on the table, and we each eat a selection of the dishes we like! Usually, there are pasta dishes, salads, roasted vegetables and meat including skewers, baked chicken schnitzel, or gyros (yiros or kebab). My aunt is Thai, so we also have Thai dishes with our family dinners, which I LOVE. She’s originally from northern Thailand and the curries and noodle dishes she makes are spicy and SO good! My basic principle for dinner is to always include protein, carbohydrates, and LOTS of vegetables.”

4. Try Anything Once

Try,New,Things,Symbol.,Concept,Words,Try,New,Things,OnShutterstock

Itsines isn’t afraid of new challenges. “Fitness is such a big part of my life and I truly love what I do, so I don't think there is any exercise that I wouldn't try,” she tells Vogue Australia. “Like anybody, there are some exercises that I don’t love but I understand how they benefit my body and workout, so I’ll push through instead of avoiding them. I think as women, we don't realize how strong we really are and sometimes trying something new is a great way to build confidence, even if you don’t nail it the first time round.”

5. One Day At a Time

Itsines knows fitness is a journey that isn’t completed overnight. “Truth is, there are no quick fixes or tricks that are going to help you tone up ‘quicker’,” she tells Vogue Australia. “It’s important to have a healthy relationship with exercise, and that you are working out to feel good, not just for physical results. I want women to include fitness as part of their lifestyle, and with a healthy balanced diet and consistent exercise, you are going to see both mental and physical results. It’s so important to be realistic in your goals and put in the hard work to achieve them.”

Fitness influencer Krissy Cela is showing social media followers what a typical upper body workout looks like for her, using what she describes as very heavy weights. Cela shared pictures and video of herself wearing green leggings and a white crop top, using a barbell and machines at her home gym. Cela is the queen of proving motivation for women to look and feel their best—here’s what her daily routine looks like, and the one thing she can’t start her day without.

1. Gym and App Workouts

Cela works out four times a week, combining at-home workouts with the gym. “Right now, I'm still training in the gym, so for me, I'm doing the Strong program on the Tone and Sculpt app,” she told Closer. “Each week, I do a glute and hamstring workout, quads and calves and then I'll do two upper-body sessions, so I technically train four days a week. I just find that suited me and is enough because I can't maintain training six days a week, it's just too much for my schedule.”

2. Discipline, Not Motivation

Cela doesn’t rely on motivation to work out every day—she immediately puts her gym clothes on after brushing her teeth. “Don't think twice, I just put my workout gear on,” she told Closer. “Then I'll drink my coffee or have my pre-workout. I'm either working out in my little home gym or I am going to the gym and I'll train for one hour, tops. Then I'll shower and get ready, then the one thing I love to do is read on the train. I love taking this time just to read because I know when I'll get to the office, it'll be insane. Taking the time to be productive and get my mental state ready is crucial.”

3. Overnight Oats

Healthy,Breakfast,Overnight,Oats,With,Fresh,Raspberries,And,Shredded,CoconutShutterstock

Cela enjoys overnight oats for breakfast. “Without a doubt, the breakfast I always have is one cup of oats, one scoop of fudge brownie protein powder, a handful of raspberries or frozen blueberries and peanut butter,” she told Women’s Health. “It's so easy to make - I make it overnight as well, if I don't have time in the morning. I'm on the go constantly, so I need to find something quick and effective that will keep me fuller for longer. That's why oats are so great because they're so complex and will give you that energy that you need.”

4. Protein and Pre-Workout

Cela has a protein shake every single day. “I also love pre-workout, because I'm a caffeine addict,” she told Closer. “I always take probiotic pills which helps my digestion and hormones. I have also started using collagen in my coffee now, it really helps me kickstart my day.”

5. She’s a Dog Person

Cela enjoys the many health benefits of having a beloved pet. “A non-negotiable I do every single morning is I have to snuggle my dog,” she told Women’s Health. “I'm that person – if I don't get to snuggle my golden retriever Buttons, then I just feel like my day is simply not ready to start. She is literally my life and soul. If you're a dog person, you will understand. So, in the morning she jumps up on my bed, we snuggle for a couple minutes and then I'm ready to go.”

In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney Sweeney arrives to "The Road to the Golden Globes Party"

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
