Haley Cavinder, an athlete and social media influencer, is well-known for her impressive basketball skills and her dynamic social media presence alongside her sister, Hanna. The Cavinder twins gained fame as college basketball players and have built a massive following on Instagram and YouTube. Recently, Haley shared a series of photos and videos on Instagram of herself showcasing her skills on the court, captioning the post, “Good juice only.” Beyond basketball, Haley enjoys various fitness activities that keep her physically and mentally sharp. From strength training to outdoor adventures, she incorporates a range of exercises into her routine, inspiring her followers to stay active and prioritize their health.

1. She Plays Basketball

Basketball is one of the ways that Cavinder stays in shape. The sport has a lot of health benefits. According to Fitness Advisory, “Basketball requires you to jump while playing, as well as running back and forth multiple times. In a basketball game, you rely on your body positioning and the ability to maintain that position when an opponent is pushing against you. This is why playing basketball can strengthen all parts of your body, especially your core muscles, neck, lower back, and arms.”

2. She Hikes

Cavinder likes to hike to keep herself in shape. She is seen hiking with her sister in this Instagram post. According to Harvard Health, hiking is a great way to keep yourself in shape and it also helps with your mental health. “A number of small studies hint that spending time in green space — nature preserves, woodlands, and even urban parks — may ease people's stress levels. Giving the growing consensus that stress contributes to high blood pressure and heart disease risk, anything you can do to mitigate stress is likely helpful. In that realm, the benefits of hiking remain anecdotal, but outdoor enthusiasts tend to agree.”

3. She Golfs

Basketball isn’t the only sport that Cavinder plays. She also likes to go golfing. Cavinder shared these photos and this video of herself on the course on her Instagram. Golf has a lot of benefits. Randa states, “On a regular 18-hole course, most players will walk between four and five miles, burning up to 2,000 calories. If you play golf for at least 150 minutes per week you are meeting WHO global exercise guidelines.”

4. She Strength Trains

Cavinder and her sister shared some of their favorite workouts in this Instagram video. One thing they are seen doing is strength training. According to The Mayo Clinic, strength training is extremely beneficial. “By stressing your bones, strength training can increase bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories.”

5. She Runs

Cavinder and her sister are also seen running in the previous Instagram video. According to FloTrack, running is a great form of cardio. “Running and jogging is an aerobic exercise, and you’re working out both your heart and lungs while doing so. This will also lead to a lower resting heart rate, lower bad cholesterol in your blood and lower blood pressure.”

WNBA star Kelsey Plum is giving fans a look at the typical low-impact workout she swears by. Plum, 29, shared a video of herself wearing her Las Vegas Aces kit of black shorts and a red jersey, going through a functional training mat workout at the gym. “Chop wood 🪵 Carry Water 🪣,” she captioned the post, referencing a Zen proverb. “Love this!” a fan commented. Plum works hard to stay fit and focused—here’s how the athlete prioritizes her health and strength through diet and exercise.

1. low-Impact Training

Plum’s workout regimen is focused on lower-to-no-impact exercises. “I’m just doing a lot more non-impact training,” she told Muscle & Fitness. “A legit swimming workout is as hard as any workout that you’ll do. Those moments definitely improve my cardiovascular system in the off-season and I’ve also just started boxing. I really enjoy that, and I think the cardio element is there in boxing as well. And then I’m really big into Pilates and yoga and that’s not just off-season. In the season I think Pilates and yoga helps you to stay strong and also nimble and flexible.”

2. Basketball Diet

Plum knows how important good nutrition is for her game. “I changed my diet significantly from when I entered college,” she told 2aDays. “I went from eating everything to being a pescatarian. I would advise young players to watch their sugar intake, especially refined sugars. It has a huge negative impact on your body. Also, I would suggest eating for recovery after hard practices. I love chocolate almond milk, with some protein to help your body recover.”

3. Mobility Workouts and Meditation

Plum approaches her training focusing on both inner and outer performance. “In basketball, there’s a lot of different elements that you need,” she told Muscle & Fitness. “You need strength, you need speed, but you need mobility. You need to be able to change direction and so working on those things has helped me to become a better athlete… When I think about being motivated or passionate about things, I really just try to stay present. I try to stay in the moment and whatever is in front of me, whether it’s a workout or whether it’s a game, a lift, I just try to be great in that workout.”

4. Weight Lifting As a Teen

Closeup,Image,Of,A,Woman,Sitting,At,Gym,With,Dumbbells, weight, weightsShutterstock

Plum has been lifting weights since she was a teenager, gradually increasing her workouts with age and athleticism. While it might sound too intense, experts say strength training is perfectly safe for younger people. “I started in middle school; I think I was 13 and lifted three days a week,” she told 2aDays. “Nothing crazy (no squatting or heavy weights), all functional movements, and core strength.”

5. Volleyball Family

Plum broke away from her family’s traditional favorite sport to become a basketball superstar. “Everyone in my family played volleyball,” she told Muscle & Fitness. “But I just didn’t have that passion for it. I just kinda wanted to do something different, so my dad took me to play pick-up when I was a kid, so I just started playing, and I loved it.”

WNBA star Te'a Cooper is upping her fitness game by working out with personal trainer Tisch Tosch Training, and developing her strongest physique yet. Cooper, 26, tagged the trainer in an Instagram video of herself working out in black two-piece workout gear and black Travis Scott sneakers. @mstischh getting the body together,” she captioned the post. Here’s what Cooper does on and off the court, and what’s next for the champion.

1. Plant-Based Diet

Vegan,Mac,And,Cheese,With,Green,Peas.,Fusilli,Pasta,WithShutterstock

Cooper took part in a cooking competition with plant-based ZENB pasta, which she says has changed the way she eats. “Having more ideas and more recipes is fun and meeting new chefs that own businesses and stuff has been fun,” she tells Blavity. “I think the fact that the noodles are yellow peas is the most interesting thing to me because it tastes just like the noodles that I use that are not yellow peas. It’s way healthier and I love pasta. They had mac and cheese, stuff that I normally eat that I would love to have made plant-based or healthy.”

2. Self-Care Sessions

Cooper takes self-care seriously (as she should!). “For me, that looks like working out, taking care of my body, eating healthy, getting my hair done, getting my nails done — looking cute,” she tells Blavity. “Taking pictures of myself, just doing stuff that makes me feel good.”

3. Hollywood Luxury Hair

Cooper is proud of Hollywood Luxury Hair, her hair and beauty brand. “I wanted to have a hair brand ever since I was in high school,” she tells Black America Web. I really wanted to be particular on the quality of the hair and the prices. I wanted it to be great quality but affordable because, you know, as an athlete, you sweat so much and you have to change your hair a lot. It’s actually hard to maintain natural hairstyles. I really wanted to have my own brand where I could also give back to the little girls growing up and the girls that wanted to have their own hair, or be endorsed by somebody with a hair company. I wanted to be that person.”

4. WNBA Inspirations

2023 WNBA All-Star FridayEthan Miller/Getty Images

Cooper is inspired by her fellow athletes. “Arike Ogunbowale, for sure,” she tells Black America Web. “She plays for the Dallas Wings and is killing the fashion this year. I love what she’s doing on and off the court. Flau’jae [Johnson] and Angel [Reese] — those my girls; they’re killing it! DiDi Richards is the other brand ambassador for my hair, and she’s killing it off the court and on the court. She played for the New York Liberty and she has her own podcast and talk show now with the WNBA, so that’s dope.”

5. Swimsuit Model

Cooper was thrilled to be a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. “I’ve never taken a bikini picture,” she tells Blavity. “I don’t really take pictures in bathing suits. I kind of just wear ’em for the pool, so that was very different to have all those cameras on you, you in a bathing suit, you kinda gotta be sexy… They kind of just give you confidence that you can’t really deny in that moment ’cause you’re in front of the camera. So you got the water, the weather, the scenery, the bathing suit. You got people encouraging you. It was a great time for me. The group of women that I did it with were so amazing and we all had different stories, so I think SI highlighting each person and their story made it even more powerful.”

WNBA star Breanna Stewart went into 2024 with good intentions and lots of gratitude. Stewart, 29, shared a picture of herself wearing a blue shirt and gray shorts, beaming with happiness as she posed on the court. “How I’m entering 2024… with love, happiness & my people,” she captioned the post. “Happy New Year Stewie! 2024 is going to be even more amazing, if that’s possible 😜,” commented Rennae Stubbs. Here’s what Stewart’s diet, training, and recovery regimen looks like, and the home-cooked meal her fellow athletes go crazy for.

1. Basketball Training

Stewart says basketball is the best workout. "I don’t really know any other speed than basketball. I’ve just been playing it forever,” she told Red Bull. “It’s a stop-and-go game. You can be running up and down for a while, then stop, then you have to go again. We don’t do much conditioning work during the season, because we’re playing almost three games each week. But during the preseason we do some sprints on the court, and riding the Airdyne bike, which really sucks—whether you’re in shape or not, you’re dying on that thing. And a lot of different cardio machines and kinds of cardio exercises. And just playing—nothing compares to it."

2. Weight Training and Pilates

Stewart uses weights to build strength and muscle. "I need to make sure that my body is ready and that means getting in the weight room,” she told Red Bull. “I just work everything—upper and lower body. I also do Pilates to make sure that my core is strong. When I’m on the court, I’m using everything, so I want to make sure that my whole body is ready to go. I usually spend an hour in the gym, then we spend about two hours on the court for practice. I do drills—like I’ll work on my post game. It helps to have someone to work with you to make sure you’re getting pushed. After practice, I do an hour of shooting drills. I like to have a schedule and keep things consistent.”

3. Spicy Rigatoni For the Team

Rigatoni,Pasta,With,Tomato,Sauce,And,Cheese,-,Traditional,ItalianShutterstock

Stewart’s mother makes incredible rigatoni noodles for her teammates. "My mom makes these chicken riggies that are off the chart,” she told Sports Illustrated. “She usually makes it when I have a team over or my family gets together because it's a bigger dish. It's rigatoni noodles with chicken and a tomato sauce. She can add red pepper flakes to make it spicier. She puts diced tomatoes in it, and she can add peppers and all types of things. I made it for my team when I was at UConn because they'd had it before—my mom would bring me leftovers that she'd frozen, and the team came to my house one time and she made it. I don't want to say it was as good as my mom's, but they all approved."

4. Pre-Game Meal

Stewart loves asparagus, which is low in calories yet packed with nutrients. "[I had a] pre-game meal of penne with meat sauce, brown rice, mashed sweet potatoes, and of course, asparagus," she told USA Today. "I could eat asparagus pretty much every day and not get tired of it."

5. Steam Room and Cold Tub

Stewart knows how important recovery and rest days are for athletes. “My muscles get really tight, so I’ll get them worked on before and after practice,” she told Red Bull. “I like going in the steam room and the hot tub; that makes my body feel good on the day after games. And doing yoga and really all the recovery things—the foam rolling, muscle flossing, the list goes on and on. I’ll go in the hot tub before practice and the cold tub after. The cold tub helps get the lactic acid and everything out of your legs. I try to make sure that I’m doing everything I can to keep my body feeling good. I want to stay ahead of letting my body break down, which allows injuries to happen.”

WNBA star Te'a Cooper is gearing up for her strongest summer ever! The 26-year-old Los Angeles Sparks point guard shared a video of herself wearing black shorts and a matching tank top, going through an intense weight training workout at the gym. “Let’s turn the summer up ‼️💪 #beenonmygrind👑,” she captioned the post. “I love everything you are doing for women in sports, keep inspiring women all over the world! 🐐” a fan commented. Here’s how Cooper stays fit, focused, and on top of her game.

1. Solo Workouts

Cooper was forced to adjust her training schedule after getting injured at University of Tennessee. “I had to go to practice at, like, six in the morning by myself, and my dramatic self, I felt like I was all alone,” she told Slam Online. “I’m like, it was just me against the world. You know you play sad music to make you sadder? Jhene Aiko has a song called ‘W.A.Y.S.’ and I had it on repeat, walking through the gym, and I worked out by myself. You don’t have anybody to push you when you’re working out by yourself, but I had to run sprints by myself, like, who was I racing? I had to find that in myself and that was…ooh, it took me a minute to do that.”

2. Vegan Diet

Healthy,Homemade,Chickpea,And,Veggies,Salad,,Diet,,Vegetarian,,Vegan,Food,Shutterstock

Cooper says going vegan for a few months positively impacted her energy levels. “A variety of vegan foods are rich in protein,” say the experts at Harvard Health. “They include soybean products (tofu, edamame, tempeh), seitan, lentils, beans or peas, nutritional yeast, spirulina, soy milk, cashew milk, nuts and seeds, nut and seed butters, veggie burgers, and meat alternatives.”

3. Sports Illustrated Model

Cooper is thrilled to have posed for Sports Illustrated. “When I got the call, I initially [thought], ‘Did they call the right person?’” she told the magazine. “It kind of felt like I was getting ready for a game. It was really comfortable. I was super excited to just be with them and see them be out of their element, too. They are so empowering. They just really make you comfortable in your own skin.”

4. Hair Entrepreneur

Cooper is proud to have her own hair brand called Hollywood Luxury Hair. “Anyone can sell hair, but I think making the customer experience personable and relatable is what sets us apart,” she told Femina Magazine. “We want people to feel like they are buying hair from someone they know and trust while knowing they will get a great product out of the experience.”

5. Acceptance and Growth

Cooper has a glass-half-full approach to life. “I think people think my life is so perfect because I never look defeated,” she told rolling out. “No matter what I’m going through, I’m always excited about what’s next. Something terrible could have happened, but I’m excited that I’m still alive to be able to learn from that and grow from it... Learn what you can control. Anything that you can’t control, just leave it alone.”

Hailie Jade is living it up at her bachelorette party – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post Eminem’s daughter shows off her insane figure in a white bathing suit while partying with her pals in Florida. “Tampa baes,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “This ain't TX, WOOOOO🤞🏼❤️ the best time celebrating you,” one of her friends commented. “Ohhhh so fun!!! Enjoy every moment!!!” added another. She also posted a photo golfing, which she described as not "stress-free." How does the influencer approach diet and fitness? Here are her top lifestyle tips.

1. Find Activities You Love

Hailie is all about finding outdoor activities that also help blast calories. “If you’re looking for a stress-free way to spend your free time, i don’t recommend picking up golf as a hobby,” she joked in a caption. According to the British Journal of Sports Medicine golf's health benefits are extensive, including mind, body, and even lifespan. Benefits include improved longevity, decreased risk of developing heart disease or suffering a stroke, good mental health, and improved strength and balance.

2. Lift Weights

Hailie.JadeHailie Jade/Instagram

Hailie regularly hits the gym and does strength training workouts. Her sessions involve multiple reps and sets of various strength and weight training moves. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

3. Fuel Up with Healthy Food

Hailie’s approach to diet is fueling her body with healthy food. She loves fruit, granola bowls, and smoothies. She especially loves this creamy strawberry smoothie, a blend of protein, fruit and greens, “that tastes too good to have all that in it,” she wrote. “I personally struggle finding smoothie recipes i like bc i want the health without it tasting like complete health 🤣 so this is my take on that- enjoy!!!”

4. Drink Coffee in Moderation

Hailie drinks coffee. “Working hard or drinking 5 cups of coffee & staring at my computer, " she joked in a caption. The Cleveland Clinic explains that there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

5. Take Supplements

In order to reach her nutritional goals, Hailie takes supplements. “With fitness as my main goal I take rhodiola and ashwagandha for energy and endurance support,” she explained in an Instagram Story. “I also get whey protein to help support muscle recovery and getting more protein in my diet.”

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
