Andrea Nisler was part of the Fittest Team on Earth and is a talented CrossFit athlete. “Not sure when the next comp will be- or where (anyone have any suggestions? 🤷♀️) - currently just enjoying staying somewhat fit with my @timberwolf_fitness crew and hitting some fun class workouts. Today: cardio lifting… every 1:30 for 8 rounds: 5 lateral burpees, 1 squat clean + 1 FS + 1 jerk. Then: every 4:00 x 4 rounds: 400 meter run, 15 ttb. Score is total time of all rounds,” she said on Instagram. Here’s what Andrea does to stay in such great shape.
1. She’s patient
She practices patience with weightlifting, seen in this video of her lifting on Instagram, captioned “back to hitting over 90% of the ol clean weight 🥳🎉patience, patience, patience.” Strength training has many benefits, including potentially enhancing “your quality of life and [improving] your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age,” according to the Mayo Clinic.
2. She celebrates progress
She knows it’s important to celebrate the journey and little wins along the way, recognizing progress. “Getting all the strength back slowly with lots and lots of tempo work- today, 5x2 back squat at 85 percent. Feeling a little more like my “old self” every week ☺️ Hopefully the next two months bring a lot more progress,” she said on Instagram.
3. She has family time
She enjoys being a mother and spending quality time with her family as often as possible. “Never thought i’d be so happy to be called mom by this little peanut - best upgrade in title I could ever ask for ❤️Two months of knowing Riley and a lifetime to go,” she said on Instagram.
4. She loves feeling strong
It’s one thing to feel “skinny,” but quite another to feel healthy. It’s about strength and confidence! “The phrase “bounce back” gives me the ick 🤢Get back in the gym to feel strong and fit again- to expect your body to look like it did before you made and carried a human is unrealistic and unhealthy. Instead let’s start encouraging women to FEEL good postpartum instead of focusing on how they look,” she said on Instagram.
5. She maintained her strength during pregnancy
She even worked out and weight lifted through her pregnancy. “I know lifting while pregnant is controversial in the non crossfit world- but I fully believe it’s important to keep doing it as long as it feels good. Worked up to an easy 225 today in the first full week of the third trimester- and i’ll keep lifting in the 80-85% range until it doesn’t feel good anymore. Stay strong ladies,” she said on Instagram.
