CrossFit Athlete Jennifer Dancer in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Perfect Challenge"
CrossFit athlete and former pro soccer player, Jennifer Dancer, finds ways to challenge herself during workouts. "Calling all my gym owner friends and fitness friends! Concept 2 is doing a holiday fitness challenge and our non profit, The Dancer Love Foundation was one of the 5 charities chosen to benefit from everyone's hard work! HOW COOL? This is a perfect challenge to keep you motivated through the holidays or to help jumpstart your fitness journey. You can bike, row or ski as hard or as easy as you want and every meter goes to raising money for a great cause," she said on Instagram. Here's how she keeps her health and wellness in check.
She sets a good example
She's a good example for her daughter. "I [used] to feel guilty dragging her to the gym everyday, especially on days she say "I don't want to go to the gym". But recently she has been jumping in with me and I love it and she loves it. I never make her do a workout but showing up each day for myself, I hope it shows her discipline and hard work. She worked out for 29 min straight of a 36 minute workout. 🤯😝," she said on a video of them working out in the gym.
She gets outside
On a video of her and her daughter enjoying the outdoors, she said "connecting with nature soothes our soul! #adventures." In addition to connecting with nature, they love to get out and hike as a family. "Chief Mountain and Arches National Park! Star hiked her first peak and went to 11,712ft. Seeing snow was a huge hit ❄️ #dancerfamily #roadtriphome #adventures #hikingtrails #whoknewstarloveshiking," she said on Instagram.
She runs
She runs and stays active. "One of our favorite Coronado traditions. Memorial Day Murph. We run together, we congo line the pull ups until we all finish, we push up together, squat together and run together. [Together] we honor, mourn and suffer for the fallen. Bless you for your ultimate sacrifice, we don't take it for granted," she said on a video on Instagram. According to Better Health, "regular physical activity such as running can significantly improve mental health, self-confidence, healthy [aging], and quality of life."
She pushes herself
She pushes herself to achieve her goals. "I don't push that often anymore and 24.1 got me on the floor 😂. The best part was my cheer squad. Loved having star baby and Sam by my side. I don't miss competing at all but I miss competing with my husband! #crossfitopen #24.1 #momlife #invictus #fridaynightlights 📷 @the_goodish_traveler_media," she said on Instagram.
She finds fun ways to be active
On a slideshow of photos, she shows how she loves to stay active with her community of friends. "I like right now! What a fantastic weekend! We had a successful puzzle competition Saturday night and raised some funds for the @dancerlovefoundation. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us and @crossfitinvictus. Also Sundays is for rollerblades and volleyball! Couldn't have asked for a better crew. COMMUNITY IS WHERE ITS AT," she said.
