While competing on Dancing With The Stars in 2014, McKellar revealed her recovery process to People. "I've been taking ice baths every single night," she said. McKellar makes sure to eat healthy. She tells E! News that she stays away from a lot of different foods. "I try to stay away from dairy and sugar. No gluten. Almost no dairy, no sugar, nothing artificial. I only drink water. I've heard that staying in shape is 80 percent diet, 20 percent exercise."

McKellar wants to be a role model for others. She tells TODAY that she wants to encourage young women to focus on studies and go after what they want. "By developing your smarts, you become more powerful and you make better choices. Being a smart and savvy woman gives you more opportunity. Aspire to be a fabulous-looking woman on Wall Street with your important job. That's the image I'm giving girls. Be glamorous — but that's the icing on the cake. That's the decoration."

She's Motivated

McKellar makes sure to not only stay in shape, but to stay motivated. She shared her secrets for doing so on this Facebook post. "Always exercise within safe limits for your body," she writes. "And remember that even a couple minutes of a little cardio or even stretching is helpful for getting your circulation going! And music can be a great motivator."
