Dua Lipa Sets Pulses Racing in New Swimsuit Photos Taken During "a Good Coupla Weeks"
Dua Lipa is taking some much-needed downtime – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post the singer shows off her amazing body in a bathing suit while visiting her family. "twas' a good coupla weeks but homeee is where the heart is!!!! 🇬🇧❤️," she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. "Angel body," commented one of her followers. "visually stunning," added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
Boxing
"I love boxing in my spare time," Dua said, according to Beauty Crew. "I like doing it for fitness [and] I like doing it just to kinda clear my mind. I really enjoy it. I like that it's definitely a full body workout. Since starting boxing I've probably been in the best shape ever. It's also a great stress reliever." Harvard Health maintains that boxing is a great way to build strength, improve balance, posture, hand-eye coordination, boost mood and endurance, and helps increase alertness.
Get Your Zen On
Dua told Rolling Stone that meditation is also part of her routine. "When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress," says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:
- Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
- Building skills to manage your stress
- Increasing self-awareness
- Focusing on the present
- Reducing negative emotions
- Increasing imagination and creativity
- Increasing patience and tolerance
- Lowering resting heart rate
- Lowering resting blood pressure
- Improving sleep quality
Yoga
Dua revealed to Rolling Stone that yoga is her go-to workout. She "always, always" travels with her yoga mat, she added in a 73 Questions interview with Vogue. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," explains Harvard Health. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."
HIIT Workouts
Dua also relies on HIIT to keep her in shape. She does 15-minute intervals of mountain climbers, jumping jacks, and burpees, she told Vogue. "It's high-intensity interval training, but it's so quick, it's over before it's even started!" she said. "I'm still trying to see what my boundaries are and how far I can push myself and when I need to rest." There is lots of research backing up the benefits of HIIT workouts, including body fat reduction, improved cardiovascular function, and mental health. It is also time effective.
Healthy Diet, with Treats
"I try and stay as healthy as possible whenever I can," Dua told Urban List about her approach to diet. "I'm never one to stop myself having treats, I do love naughty treats. But I try and limit it to days when I'm not as busy, because if I do eat a doughnut it usually puts me in a food coma!" She also cooks her own food. "I love cooking and being surrounded by my favorite people, though I also love ordering from the fantastic restaurants in my area," she added in an essay for Refinery29 during the pandemic. "With all the running around I do for work, it's nice to come home, slow down, and connect with the food that nourishes my body and life."
