Katrina Wright, a fitness model and athlete, is passionate about inspiring others to be their best selves. Known for her blend of strength, style, and positivity, Wright recently shared an Instagram video showing her versatility—from dancing the night away to hitting the gym with determination. Captioned “Same girl different seasons,” the post encapsulates her multifaceted approach to fitness and life.
Wright’s journey is about more than just physical fitness. Whether she’s dancing for fun, exploring the world through solo travel, or connecting with others despite language barriers, she embraces challenges with grace and resilience. By pushing away negativity and focusing on self-care, Wright exemplifies how a positive mindset and active lifestyle can lead to a fulfilling and balanced life.
1. She pushes away negativity
She avoids letting negativity get to her, aiming to see the positive. “An entire sea of water still can’t sink a ship unless that same water gets inside of it…there is and always will be negativity in this world, but it only has the power to bring you down if you let get inside your head,” she said on Instagram on a slideshow of photos.
2. She pays attention to what she uses on her face
She does her skincare and makeup routine to keep her feeling confident. “Face prep: Buttah Rose Water Toner, Ole Henrikensen Banana Bright Eye cream, Face sunscreen. Products: Laura Mercier Primer, Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter, Anastasia Brow Gel, Saie Bronzer, Dior Glow Face Palette, Laura Mercier Foundation, Kossas Concealer, NYX radiating setting spray (not featured but preferred and typically used for track meets), Laura Mercier setting powder, [and] Rare beauty cream blush,” she said on Instagram.
3. She dances
She enjoys dancing and staying active. On a video of her dancing on Instagram, she asked “should I post more dances?” According to Better Health, “dancing can be a way to stay fit for people of all ages, shapes and sizes. It has a wide range of physical and mental benefits including: improved condition of your heart and lungs, increased muscular strength, endurance and motor fitness, increased aerobic fitness, improved muscle tone and strength, weight management,” and more.
4. She solo travels
She works through challenges she faces. “Solo traveling IS NOT FOR THE WEAK!!!! In this video alone I only recorded my journey once I LANDED in France 😭🤣🤣. Before that I had a layover with a self transfer, followed by a 10 hour flight, once I landed I had to take the metro 2 stops to the train station for 50 minutes. I’ve been to Paris before and navigated a couple times but I still struggled. I got lost 3 times, went the wrong way on the metro once, and got misdirected (try asking for help when some people don’t speak English and you don’t speak their language, I promise you things can get misinterpreted very quickly). I ended up missing my train to my final destination and had to buy an entirely new ticket. I was sweaty, tired, and hungry the whole time. This is not the experience for everyone of course 🤣🤣 I knew what I was in for taking a 45lb bag with me to a country I love but I’m not entirely familiar with, ironically this is the best I’ve ever packed for a trip overseas and hey in the end I made it regardless,” she said on Instagram.
5. She’s kind to others
She’s open to new connections, even as she’s traveling. “I was on the way to the center of Rome to meet my dad and had a long conversation with my Uber driver about my upbringing, being an athlete, traveling, what it’s like to date another athlete as an athlete/if it can be complicated! He was very respectful and by the end of the ride he wanted to pass on his compliments to my dad. We didn’t fully understand each other and had to pass google translate back and forth a couple times but I’ve learned that just because you don’t speak the same language as someone doesn’t mean you should ever be discouraged from trying to communicate with them,” she said on Instagram.
