She captioned a video, “What my UPPER sessions in the gym look like 👇I’ve been doing an Upper/ Lower split for the past few months now. This is a typical upper body session for me - mixing in some ‘power’ based moves with my strength sets and finishing with accessories.”

1. She Does Chin Ups

In her Instagram post, Poppett is seen doing chin-ups. These are very effective. ACE Fitness reports, “Chin-ups can help improve grip strength, posture and appearance, while also helping to strengthen muscles that stabilize the spine. This, in turn, can help reduce one’s risk of back pain and injury. Even if a client is only able to do one or two chin-ups at a time, this exercise offers tremendous benefits, especially for the back, shoulders, forearms and biceps.”

2. She Strength Trains

Tanya Poppett.2Tanya Poppett/Instagram

Poppett likes to do strength training workouts to stay fit. She is seen using landmines and weighted balls in her Instagram video. The Mayo Clinic says that strength training exercises are very beneficial. “By stressing your bones, strength training can increase bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories.”

3. She Does Pulldowns

Tanya Poppett.3Tanya Poppett/Instagram

Poppett is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that these exercises can be very beneficial. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

Poppett likes to do bodyweight workouts when she can’t get to the gym. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing them, captioning it, “BODYWEIGHT AND HARD 🥵I’m back in a home workout phase at the moment. We are committed to bringing you researched, expert-driven content to help you make more informed decisions around food, health, and wellness. We know how important making choices about your overall health is, and we strive to provide you with the best information possible.

Hattie Boydle is a fitness influencer and trainer. She recently shared some of her favorite upper body workouts on Instagram. In it, she is seen lifting weights, doing lateral pulldowns, and shoulder presses. Boydle captioned the post, “Train Upper Body With Me ✊🏽Recently my sessions are consisting of a balanced approach to push and pull, compound to isolated. I have kept volume down as my goal is to just maintain my upper body development which means volume is kept around 6 total sets per upper body movements.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Hattie Boydle stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Works Her Upper Body

In her Instagram post’s caption, Boydle talked about the importance of training her upper body. “The reason I don’t neglect upper body altogether is because I need to maintain strength to perform my heavy compounds like RDL’s and deadlifts for my lower body development, as well maintain good posture in general.”

2. She Gradually Increased The Amount Of Weight She Lifts

Boydle shared some of her secrets for getting in shape in this post's caption. In it, she revealed that she gradually increased the amount of weight she lifted. “I started training for STRENGTH. Every week I applied a little more effort by adding 5% more load to my lifts. When I couldn’t increase the load, I increased my reps on my heaviest loads.”

3. She Took Recovery Days

In the previous post’s caption, Boydle talked about the importance of recovery. “I took recovery days. I went from training 7 days a week down to 5 and now it’s down to 4. Fatigue masks effort. Because I was so tired, training felt hard. I was confused with training hard and only being able to give what I could being tired. Once I started to have full recovery days I was able to > increase load > motivation increased = better intensity > my body responded BETTER to training.”

4. She Planned Her Meals

Hattie Boydle.3Hattie Boydle/Instagram

Boydle also revealed how she changed her diet in the caption of the previous post. “I improved my overall planning of my meals. Instead of fasting or limiting my food in the morning and backloading it at night, I started to eat more in the day to support my training and recovery. This helped me recomp my body > build muscle drop fat and improve my overall habits with food. I also improved my consistency with tracking. This allowed me to be more mindful of my weekends and more balanced with my approach to social events.”

5. She Works Her Lower Body

Boydle shared her favorite lower body workouts in this Instagram post. She captioned it, “Straight from 32 hrs of travel and into Today's session at the glute lab with @bretcontreras1 2 x hard sets of each. A Rotisserie hip thrust set 1 x 20 set 2 x 12. B BC Glute Drive - 10 x eccentric reps (Bret sitting on the machine) into partial range (lengthened position at the bottom 🥵 1 set only. C Reverse hip extension partial range x 20 1 set only. D Weighted Bent knee Back Extension. Video 1 Load only X 10. Video 2 double banded plus weight X 15. E Lean Forward Hip Abduction- 20 x normal reps, 10 eccentric reps, 10 seconds static into 10 partials 🥵.F Lean Back Machine Abduction x 20 reps plus 10 partials. G Lying straight leg abductions x 25 normal reps, 10 eccentrics, 10 second static hold, 10 partials. H Single leg machine kick down partial range into single leg step down 25/15.”

The Mayo Clinic states that swimming has a lot of benefits. “Swimming is often touted as a great workout for all ages, offering benefits not only for the body, but also for the mind. As a form of exercise, swimming keeps your heart rate up and builds muscle strength. It also can be a great form of stress relief.”

She Doesn't Compare Herself to Others

Zelu shares a lot of her thoughts on Instagram. In this post, she talked about no longer comparing herself to others. “Dear Diary 💭📝, Today’s contemplation led me to a profound understanding of the detrimental impact comparison has on our lives. It’s like a silent intruder, subtly creeping into our thoughts and poisoning our perception of ourselves and others. It’s a universal struggle, one that weighs heavily on the hearts of many. I’ve come to realize that comparison is the ultimate thief of joy. It robs us of our ability to appreciate our own journey and achievements, as we constantly measure ourselves against an idealized version of others. I’ve resolved to break free from its grasp. We should choose to celebrate our own unique path, recognizing that each step forward is a triumph in itself. Rather than fixating on external benchmarks set by others, I’m focusing on personal growth and development. Whether it’s through learning new skills, cultivating gratitude, or simply practicing self-compassion, every effort counts.”

She Hikes

Zelu is seen on a hike in the previous Instagram post. Harvard Health states that hiking is very beneficial. “Like brisk walking, hiking is a good way to improve your cardiovascular fitness, particularly if your route includes some hills, which will force your heart to work harder. Taking a hike on the slightly uneven surface of a trail also provides a natural way to engage the core muscles in your torso and to hone your balance skills.”

She’s Resilient

Resilience is another important thing to Zelu. She talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “Dear Diary 💭📝, I witnessed something truly remarkable that touched my heart deeply. It’s amazing how people can go through the toughest storms in life and yet remain gentle, patient, and kind. I saw someone who faced challenges that would break most people, yet they chose to respond with grace and humility. Their ability to stay calm and compassionate in the face of adversity is nothing short of admirable. It made me realize the beauty of resilience – the strength to keep going even when life throws its hardest punches. These individuals not only endure the storms but also emerge from them with a spirit that shines brighter than before. Their example reminds me of the power of kindness and the importance of staying true to oneself, even in the darkest of times. It’s a reminder that even in the midst of chaos, there is beauty to be found 💕🫶”

She’s Accepted Herself

Zelu talked about the importance of acceptance in this Instagram post’s caption. “Dear Diary 💭📝, Today has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but amidst it all, I feel like I’ve taken a step closer to the right direction. Letting go of the past is like shedding a heavy coat I’ve been carrying for far too long. It’s not easy to release the memories, the pain, the regrets, but today, I made a choice to loosen the grip they had on me. It’s like taking a deep breath after being underwater for too long—refreshing and liberating. Forgiving myself has been a journey filled with tears and moments of self-doubt. But today, I finally understood that I deserve the same forgiveness and understanding I give to others. It’s like giving myself a warm hug, wrapping myself in kindness and acceptance.”
