She may not have made it to the Paris Olympics, but the future is bright for gymnast Gabby Douglas. Douglas, 28, shared a picture of herself wearing shorts and a tank top, posing outside in the sunshine. “Ooooop🫢happy weekend everyone peace, love and happiness to you all x,” she captioned the post. “Happy weekend to you gabby, you stay beautiful, sweet, healthy and strong 💪 ❤️😍!” commented a fan. Douglas has big plans and goals to reach—here’s what her health and wellness routine looks like, and what’s next for the athlete.

1. Intense Training Routine

Douglas is disciplined about her training and workouts. "I either go all in or not at all,” she told Good Housekeeping. “So my workout routine is very intense every time I do it. When I'm not in the gym, I do trampoline workouts, dancing workouts, weight training. But when I'm in the gym I do more cardio… I was very sad to end my Paris journey, but I'm very grateful for all the lessons. I'm excited to continue my gymnastics career. I'm definitely looking at 2028, but in the meantime would love to go to a few more World Championships."

2. Mostly Vegan Diet

Douglas considers herself 99% vegan. “I’m all organic, all non-GMO, and incorporating more fruits and veggies into my diet,” she told Well+Good. “I’m actually 99 percent vegan, which I find to be a huge benefit. I’ve also been eating a lot of the Mediterranean diet, which I’ve read is so much more beneficial than eating tons and tons of meat. I love, love a good chickpea dish. I've been making a lot of roasted chickpeas with some dill, or salt and pepper, or any spice really.”

3. Protein Powder

Douglas loves Natural Force whey protein powder. "I've been trying to get a lot of protein in because I am still training,” she told Good Housekeeping. “Before, on my 2024 journey, I had to make sure that I was getting the right amount of nutrients for my muscles in my body since I was back in the intense sport.”

4. Collagen Smoothies

Douglas teamed up with Smoothie King to develop a line of collagen packed smoothies. "I've incorporated so many powder supplements and smoothies into my pre- and post-workout diet that my muscles absolutely love and enjoy," she told Well+Good. "My schedule is so rigorous—not only on my body but also on my brain and focus—and I notice a huge difference both internally and externally. With stretching, I've noticed huge benefits with incorporating type two collagen into my routine, which plays a huge factor in cutting out muscle soreness, maintaining joint health, and improving flexibility.”

Holistic Health

Douglas has a holistic approach to health and wellness. “I look at my whole body, even mental, skin, everything, as being one big machine,” she told The Healthy. “You can’t do one without the other. So I do a lot where it comes to mental and physical. I do a lot of icing. I do a lot of heating, and especially at night … I love taking care of my feet … I love doing the [Dr. Scholl’s] foot mask, which has a lot of essential oils in it, and Epsom salt too.”
