Golf Stunner Cheyenne Hicks in Two-Piece Workout Gear "Chased my Dream"
Cheyenne Hicks, a professional golfer and niece of Tiger Woods, recently shared a video on Instagram celebrating her many accomplishments, from her time on the LPGA and LET tours to her impressive 11 hole-in-ones. Hicks, who is also raising two children under the age of two, captioned the post, "And the 2 under 2 might be my proudest stat 💪🏾 😂." Beyond golf, Hicks is a passionate advocate, using her platform to speak out on social issues and encourage more young girls to get into the sport.
She Speaks Out
Hicks isn't afraid to speak out about things that are important to her. In an interview on the Changing The Game podcast, she talked about supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. "You're going to get the backlash. You're going to get the comments and the negativity. And it's scary to put yourself out there. This time it does feel different. So many people are speaking out and I don't care if you like what I say or not. I truly believe that this is what's right and it's in my heart. And if I lose, as I have, thousands of followers because I'm speaking up about what I believe is important and right in the world, I don't care if you unfollow me. I don't care if you don't support me. Because I truly feel like I'm on the right side of history in terms of supporting Americans and Black Americans and what's going on in the world today."
She Wants To Support Young Girls
Hicks revealed on Changing The Game that she wants to encourage young girls to play golf. "Girls Golf is coming up with a grant that will be supporting Black girls playing golf and helping them gain access to the sport," Hicks said. "And I think that's what it truly takes is, let's specifically try to get Black girls into the game and support them financially. Give them a space where they can come in. We have to be a little more hands-on than we have. And it's exciting for me to see those conversations being had now."
She Loves What She Does
Hicks talked about her love of golf and going on tours to Golfweek. "I just love it out here. I love being around the athletes from other sports and getting to watch some great golf with the LPGA. It's kind of the best of both worlds. And also to feel that adrenaline that goes through you when you tee off on the first hole and finishing up on the last hole. It's always fun to have that feeling."
She Values Her Family
The most important thing in Hicks' life is her family. She talked about this in her interview with Golfweek. "Our family is really what's most important to me in terms of priority. Not only have I had two kids in the last two years, I lost my older brother last year unexpectedly. That, in addition to the beautiful blessing of kids, has really reaffirmed the importance of family and being there when you can while you can."
She Hikes
Hicks likes to hike to stay in shape. She shared these photos of herself hiking on Instagram. Hicks captioned the post, "AZ in December." Harvard Health reports that hiking has a lot of benefits. "Hiking over uneven terrain requires more energy than walking on a level surface, so it burns more calories," Dr. Edward Phillips, assistant Harvard Medical School professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation says to the website. "If you are hiking uphill, your body has to work even harder. A rigorous hike may offer many of the same physical benefits as interval training, which alternates low- and high-intensity exercise to increase cardiovascular fitness. During a hike, your heart rate goes up as you move up an incline and drops when you head downhill."
