Jennifer Aniston is celebrating her BFF on his birthday – in her exercise gear. In a new social media post the actress honors her hairstylist and friend Chris McMillan on his special day. “Happy Birthday my sweet Chrissy! 🥳 No one kinder, more caring, more talented, more FUN, hilarious and more adorable! You’re simply the BEST 🤩❤️ I love you xo,” she wrote about the series of snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. Mental Health and Self-Care

Jennifer limits screen time to protect her mental health. "[It's important to] turn off the screens. ... Put your phone down and get outside. Surround yourself with friends and connect with people," she tells People. "Try to think about ... what is possible, as opposed to the doom that the world tends to appear like these days," she adds. "We just aren't designed to take in that kind of information all day."

2. High Protein Diet

Jennifer has been eating a consistently healthy diet for many years. "My nutrition is very much the same. It's usually a lot of high protein, vegetables, salads, soups,” she tells People. According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

3. Cheat Meals

Jennifer allows herself to indulge in “everything I would possibly want on a weekend,” she dishes to People. When it comes to cheat meals “it depends,” she says. “I mean, dare I sound repetitive, but Mexican food is a real favorite of mine. It's not even that much of a cheat, to be honest. Or a cheeseburger or pizza or pasta — all that stuff.”

4. P.Volve

Jennifer loves P.Volve workouts and recently partnered with the brand. “I’ve become gentler with myself,” she says of her approach to fitness, which has “definitely evolved” over the years. “I find that I can be gentler on my body and still get the benefits of a great workout,” she told Prevention, adding that she likes P.Volve becase it is functional fitness that helps you “function throughout the day” and “work out your essential muscle groups to keep your body strong,” she says. “So you can live a long, healthy, strong life.”

5. Daily Exercise

Aniston is "absolutely" a morning person when it comes to exercise. "I always feel like after a long day, the last thing I want to do is work out," she explains to People. "I admire those who really can come home from a day of work and get themselves into workout wear and into the gym at night. I find that it's incredible, but I just can't see myself doing that." She exercises even when she has negative thoughts in her head. "I say, 'Just go. Do five minutes. Just move for at least five minutes,' " she says. "Then you find if you've gotten through the first 10 minutes of anything, you can probably do another 10 and then another 10, and then you just keep going."
