Country singer Kelsea Ballerini has filed for divorce from Australian singer/songwriter Morgan Evans after almost five years of marriage. Ballerini, 28, and Evans, 37, tied the knot in 2017 after a whirlwind romance. (This comes as the prepares for this fall's Heartfirst tour. "i’ve really missed you. let’s jump right back in together for these 10 special nights. 💛," she has said.) Read on to see what they both have to say about the sad split, and how they met.

1. Ballerini’s Heartbreaking Statement

kelsea-1Kelsea Ballerini/Instagram

Ballerini posted a statement on her Instagram account confirming the split. “Friends, I've always tried my best to share my life with you in a real and vulnerable way, while also protecting layers of my personal life as they unfold,” she says. “This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce. This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end. It's hard to find the words here... but I feel extremely grateful for the years of marriage to Morgan and hopeful for the next seasons. With very active schedules coming up, please be mindful that we are both fragile, actively healing, and showing up the best we can. Kels.”

2. They Tried To Make It Work

Ballerini and Evans did their best to save the relationship, but sadly it didn’t work. "They've been working on their marriage for a very long time. Prior to this they had separated privately once before and have been in therapy for several years," a source tells PEOPLE. "They gave it their best go but unfortunately arrived at the decision to formally separate."

3. Evans Confirms the Split

Evans posted his own statement on instagram confirming everything Ballerini said. "I am very sad to confirm that after almost five years of marriage, Kelsea and I are parting ways. I wish it were otherwise but sadly it is not," he said. Ballerini and Evans talked about their journey through couples therapy, and what it meant to them both. "Because of my parents' divorce and the way that they loved me through it in their own ways, I have a different idea of marriage, but I would think I have a healthier idea of marriage," Ballerini previously said. "I don't see it as a fairytale-esque, ride-off-into-the-sunset kind of thing. It's work, but it's worth it. We go to couples therapy all the time. We have really good couples friends that we vacation with, but we also can sit down with and have the hard conversations."

4. How Did They Meet?

Ballerini and Evans had a whirlwind romance—they met in 2016 while co-hosting Australia's Country Music Channel Awards and Morgan proposed on Christmas Day the same year. "This morning, 9 months and 13 days later, he got down on one knee in the kitchen while I was burning pancakes and asked me to marry him," Ballerini shared with fans at the time. "Loving him has been the greatest gift of my life. And now I get to do it for life. #HeCalledDibs."

5. Hopefully They Remain Friends

Ballerini previously spoke about her deep admiration for Evans, and how he “shows up”. "We approach our relationship so differently, but he shows up — he shows up in every way he needs to," Ballerini said in November 2021. "I'm really grateful for the last year and a half, honestly, to be able to have time that we'd never had before to not just see each other once a week, but see each other every day and cook together and buy a house together and walk the dog together and just do really normal things that seem small. That was a really beautiful thing for our marriage."

I think my mindset, now that I have kids, is just different. I use my jeans. I don’t weigh myself. Early on in my career, I felt that I wasn't pretty girl material, so I settled. That's just how you come to feel when you go on auditions, and the only auditions you get are certain characters. I was never the girlfriend or even the wife. I was always the best friend, maybe a mother in one or two scenes. I was just like a giant stress ball, and in the first session, it was like: ‘Alright, here are things that might help you, like, chill the fuck out during your day.’ I learned] little things like when you're walking from the bus to the stage, walk slower. [And my therapist] also gave me mindfulness exercises when I felt like I couldn’t nap and breathing techniques to help me before meet and greets or interviews. 9. Kelsea Ballerini

New,York,,New,York,-,September,09:,Kelsea,Ballerini,AttendsShutterstock

Kelsea Ballerini talked about her fitness secrets with Nashville Edit. “Find a workout that YOU like, not what someone else pushes. There are so many different kinds of moving. Going to the gym or running on the treadmill, which I personally hate and tried for years, isn’t the only way to exercise. I love any kind of cycle class because the music is super loud, the lights are dark, and I can shut my eyes and feel like I am at home with my headphones on. I also love Pilates for building long, lean muscle. Lastly, I work out with a personal trainer who is super encouraging and helps me meet my fitness goals. Working out, something I used to dread, is now something that I look forward to because it boosts my stamina onstage and makes me feel much more clear-headed and, in my body, too.”

10. Carly Pearce

Los,Angeles,-,Jun,22:,Carly,Pearce,At,The,2018Shutterstock

My dad had a massive heart attack when I was a teenager and it just kind of rocked my world. There is heart disease in my family now and cancer is a big part of my family history and health. I feel better when I work out, I feel better when I eat right and I feel like my mind is in a better spot. My entire life is chaotic, as far as on a daily basis. If I can have that little time to control, I almost use it as meditation to run, and my body feels good to play shows and perform for an hour and sing and not get winded. When you have people looking at you 24/7, and taking pictures of you, you want to look your best and feel your best. I always said if I wasn’t an artist I would go into nutrition or sports medicine, I really love all things health.”

And I found things to look forward to, and it was a really powerful tool to bring me out of this dark place.”

Los,Angeles,-,Oct,9:,Jessie,James,Decker,At,TheShutterstock

Nashville,,Ten,-,Oct,16:,Ashley,Mcbryde,Attends,The,2019Shutterstock

Ashley McBryde talked about her career in an interview with Grammy.com. She says that she has learned to be true to herself following her attempting to change things. “I tried to do the thing that people would have me do, and it was a momentum and a façade that I knew there's no way I could keep that up, and maybe stick out my stomach, two for ten, that I'm the skinniest girl in the room,” she said. “I'm never gonna be that and that's fine. I look silly with straight hair. That for me was a big turning point, and also some of the songs that we were choosing for me at the time. It's not that I didn't like them. I wrote them, but they weren't exactly the thing I would want to do and the message that I wanted to put out. I had stuff that had better messages to it. And learning that I really suck at being anybody else, and as long as I've got permission to just be me, and me and the guys can just make the music that [speaks] to us, that's when it started working for us. That's when the ball really started rolling.”

16. Tenille Townes

Nashville,-,Jun,5:,Tenille,Townes,Attends,The,2019,CmtShutterstock

For Tenille Townes, music is a great way for her to help with her mental health. “I felt like I was going insane in my house, feeling completely worried and anxious and scared,” she told People. “But I was constantly asking myself, ‘what do I do with this?’ I'm so glad that music was a place where I could put it all. It always gives me a way to take a hot air balloon ride of sorts, where I can just float above the situation and see it from a higher vantage point. Writing over the past year, I have felt that firsthand for myself in a way that I've really never felt before. That's what I love the most about songwriting is it can kind of just pull me out of something to look at it differently."

17. Lauren Alaina

18. LeAnn Rimes

Los,Angeles,-,Dec,12:,Leann,Rimes,Arrives,To,TheShutterstock

LeAnn Rimes shared some of her favorite products with NYMag. In it, she revealed that she likes to use the Rapid Release Therapy system to help her recover. “I’ve used a lot of the other percussive massage therapy guns and gave up on them. Nothing ever really releases my muscles. This uses vibration frequency to release the muscles and it is heaven for me. I take it on the road when I travel. When I’m singing, the muscles in my neck and jaw can get really tight. I find that this is super, super-helpful to release all of that tension. It’s more of a vibration frequency than it is an actual pounding. With all the other ones, I feel like I’m being hit. This feels more like a nice little tingly vibration. I use it whenever I feel like I’m getting a little tense. Definitely after my shows, or sometimes after a workout. It’s a great tool to have.”

19. Maddie Marlow

Maddie Marlow shared her workout routine on TikTok. She captioned it, “This is my 30 minute workout routine that I do everyday. I start with 15 minutes on the treadmill, just at a three, then I go into four exercises four times with 25 reps. So these are some bicep curls to get those arms toned, some donkey kicks to get that Lainey Wilson dump truck bootay. Then we're going into some Spiderman crunches, this is great for that lower belly that's so hard to get, and some goddess squats. This is great for your booty and your thighs.”

20. Sara Evans

Sara Evans talked about her diet in an interview. "Don't overeat and don't starve yourself either,” she said. “It's everything in moderation. That's the way I like to live life: everything in moderation. If you're sitting there and you've had two pieces of pizza and you feel stuffed, don't go for that third one. It's common sense. I have no diet tricks, I have no 'I never eat carbs' or 'I never . . .' I eat a little bit, and as soon as I feel full, I stop. Then I don't eat again until I'm hungry."

Abfab at 54, Nicole Kidman flaunted her svelte figure and rock hard midsection in a cutout gown. In addition to exercise, her secret to health is eating what she wants...in moderation. 2. Carrie Underwood

55th Annual CMA Awards - ArrivalsJason Kempin/Getty Images

Carrie Underwood flashed major leg in a high slit, metallic tinsel gown. One of the country star’s stay-fit secrets? She switches her workouts up by the season. "I want to listen to my body and do what I'm in the mood for. On different days, that means different things. I'm a bit of a seasonal workout person. If you think about it, in the winter, we're all bundled up, and we all want to be warm, comfortable, there are a lot of holidays,” she told Shape. “So, I'll lift more and do less cardio then and make use of all those extra holiday food calories and build some muscle. In the summer, I want to feel lighter. I want to run and sweat, so I use the temperature and that feeling to lean up a bit and do more outdoor cardio things."

3. Miranda Lambert

55th Annual CMA Awards - ArrivalsJason Kempin/Getty Images

Miranda Lambert opted for a simple but sleek black Versace cocktail dress. The singer maintains that ditching diets helped her get into the best shape of her life in 2014. "You get tired of any diet. I've tried everything," she told Women’s Health. "I just literally would make grilled chicken breast, sweet potato salad. There was no miracle." Instead, started eating more veggies, discovered cardio exercises she actually liked, and sought fitspiration by none other than Britney Spears.

4. Kelsea Ballerini

55th Annual CMA Awards - ArrivalsJason Kempin/Getty Images

Kelsea Ballerini also rocked a leggy look, opting for a white, sleeved Valdrin Sahiti gown slit to her waist. “I've always been an 80/20 person as far as food and drinking. I try to do what's good for me 80 percent of the time. The other 20 percent of the time, I just enjoy my life,” she told Shape about her diet. “I run through the McDonald's drive-through once a month, and it's fine. Sometimes I'll have a little too much wine, and that's OK too. I've spent so much of my life feeling guilty for things that I eat or having an unhealthy relationship with food or the gym or whatever. So I just try to be nice to myself and do what's good for me. And when I don't, I start again the next day."

5. Maren Morris

55th Annual CMA Awards - ArrivalsJohn Shearer/Getty Images for CMA

Maren Morris’ flat abs were on display in her white tuxedo jacket, which she wore without a shirt underneath. The singer trains with Erin Oprea (who is also responsible for Underwood’s fit figure!) Her workouts start with jumping rope before strength training movies, such as front and side planks, pushups, squats, lunges, and combinations. “Squat lunges are the worst,” she told Women’s Health. “They’re so hard because that’s the area I need it most—my thighs and butt.” She moves to the BOSU ball and does crunches and core work, then lifts free weights for arm strength.

6. Katy Perry

55th Annual CMA Awards - ArrivalsJohn Shearer/Getty Images for CMA

Katy Perry flaunted her tiny waist in a brown leather Vivienne Westwood strapless gown. The mother-of-one claims she eats healthy...most of the time. Most stars maintain they follow an 80/20 diet, her approach is more lax. “Let’s be honest,” she told Prevention, “it’s 60/40.”

7. Jennifer Hudson

55th Annual CMA Awards - ArrivalsJohn Shearer/Getty Images for CMA

Jennifer Hudson’s strong arms were the center of attention with her lace bustier and silky skirt look. Healthy eating is what keeps the singer in great shape. "I don't really have time to do much [working out], so I really just watch what I eat," she told Good Housekeeping. "I'm very careful and cautious of what I'm eating, so I just try to pace those meals throughout the day. I'm very conscious of what I put in my body."

So, how does she stay in such incredible shape? From strength training to boxing, here’s a look at her go-to fitness moves.

She Strength Trains

In her Instagram post, Sharvari is seen doing a strength training exercise. The Mayo Clinic says that strength training has a lot of benefits. “Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories. Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age.”

She Does Yoga

Sharvari shares a lot of her favorite workouts on Instagram. One thing she likes to do is yoga. Sharvari posted this video of herself doing poses on her page. John Hopkins Medicine states that yoga is very beneficial. “Regular yoga practice may reduce levels of stress and body-wide inflammation, contributing to healthier hearts. Several of the factors contributing to heart disease, including high blood pressure and excess weight, can also be addressed through yoga.”

She Plays Padel

Sharvari likes to play padel to keep herself in shape. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself on the court. Playing padel has a lot of health benefits. Everybody Health & Leisure says, “It improves cardiovascular fitness, helps to build strength and endurance, enhances coordination and promotes overall physical and mental well-being. Not to mention, it’s a fantastic way to burn calories.”

She Boxes

Another thing that Sharvari does to keep herself in shape is box. She first picked this up when training for the film, Vedaa. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself punching a bag. Sharvari captioned the post, “BEAST MODE on for Vedaa! ⚠️☠️🥊 Took up boxing to become Vedaa... Now I am ready to pack a punch or be strong enough to take a brutal beating 💪#Vedaa coming to a theatre near you on August 15th.”

She Runs

Sharvari likes to run to keep herself in shape. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself running on the beach. She captioned the post, “Decided to seas the day!” Better Health says that running is very beneficial. “Regular running or jogging offers many health benefits. Running can: help to build strong bones, as it is a weight bearing exercise, strengthen muscles, improve cardiovascular fitness, burn plenty of kilojoules, help maintain a healthy weight.”

Natasa Stankovic isn’t just a content creator—she’s a fitness inspiration. Known for sharing intense workout sessions on Instagram, she keeps her followers motivated with creative exercise challenges and dynamic routines.

In her latest post, Stankovic teamed up with Aleksandar Illic for a lower body blast, pushing through variations of squats and lunges. Dressed in a sleek two-piece workout set, she captioned the session, “Wednesday challenge,” proving that fitness is all about consistency and fun.

So, how does she maintain her lean, strong physique? From strength training to Pilates, here’s a look at Stankovic’s go-to workout moves.

She Does Squats

Stankovic does squats to keep herself in shape, as you can see in her Instagram video. Piedmont says that this exercise has a lot of health benefits. “Whether you’re hoping to tone your muscles, strengthen your core or just improve overall health, squats are one of the best exercises you can do. Although the movements appear relatively simple, squats can take time to master. Joel Hardwick, ACSM EP-C, EIM2, an exercise physiologist at Piedmont Atlanta Fitness Center, says practice will pay off…Hardwick explains that squats are a compound, multi-joint movement, which means they exercise several muscle groups. When you perform a squat, you work your calves, quads, hamstrings, glutes, core and part of your back.”

She Does Lunges

Stankovic is also seen doing lunges in her Instagram video. The Mayo Clinic reports that lunges are very beneficial to do. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles. The lunge is a great conditioning exercise for many sports, especially those that involve lunging movements, such as tennis, basketball or soccer.”

She Does Cardio

Stankovic likes to do cardio workouts to keep herself in shape. She shared this video of herself doing fast box jumps in different directions on Instagram. Stankovic captioned it, “Morning cardio challenge.” Cardio exercises have a lot of benefits. The Cleveland Clinic says, “When you work your heart and other muscles of your body during cardio exercise, this increases oxygen supply to your whole body, allowing all muscles to work harder and more efficiently. Over time, regular cardio exercise allows your muscles to adapt to an increased workload, making regular activities seem easier.”

She Does Pilates

Stankovic shares a lot of her favorite workouts in an Instagram story highlight. In some of the stories, she is seen doing Pilates exercises on a reformer. Pilates is very beneficial. The Cleveland Clinic says, “One of the reasons Pilates is such a good workout is that it specifically focuses on building core strength.”

She Strength Trains

Stankovic likes to strength train to keep herself in shape. She shared this Instagram story of herself using dumbbells. ACE Fitness says that strength training and using weights has a lot of health benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

Kim French in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Real Results" Workout

Learn how she sculpts her powerhouse physique with deadlifts, lunges, squats, and more.

Kim French is more than just a personal trainer—she’s a fitness coach who empowers thousands through her Believe App and Instagram workouts. Known for her structured, effective home training plans, she proves that you don’t need a gym full of heavy weights to build serious strength.

In a recent Instagram post, French shared a glimpse of her at-home training, reminding followers that smart training delivers "REAL results." Rocking a sleek two-piece workout set, she showcased some of her go-to exercises, emphasizing that with the right strategy, anyone can see progress.

So what’s in her routine? From deadlifts to hip thrusts, here’s how French sculpts her powerhouse physique.

She Does Deadlifts

French is seen doing deadlifts in her Instagram post. This exercise has a lot of benefits. NASM says, “A Romanian deadlift is a hip-hinge pattern that works the hamstrings and glutes. It is a form of deadlift with noticeably less bend in the knee, leading to greater hamstring engagement than traditional deadlifts. The move was introduced to the masses in the 90s by Romanian weightlifter Nicu Vlad (an Olympic and World Weightlifting champion) and his coach Dragomir Cioroslan. The two invented the move to help Nicu strengthen his back for the clean and jerk. Today, RDLs are commonly used to strengthen the posterior chain, using the core muscles to stabilize and the hamstrings and glutes to drive the movement.”

She Does Lunges

Another exercise that French is seen doing in her Instagram post is lunges. NASM says that they are very beneficial. “The lunge is a versatile, simple and effective movement for lower body training. Various positions, planes of motion and speeds can all yield different training adaptations for the exerciser. Lunges are the gift that keeps on giving!”

She Does Squats

French is seen doing squats in her Instagram video. According to The Cleveland Clinic, squats are very beneficial. “Here’s a quick look at the many benefits of squats, also known as bodyweight squats or air squats: Works major muscle groups. Burns calories. Strengthens your core. Improves lower body strength. Enhances stability and balance. Betters your posture.”

She Does Hamstring Curls

French is seen doing hamstring curls in her Instagram post. According to The Mayo Clinic, hamstring curls are very beneficial. “The seated hamstring curl is an exercise you can do with a weight machine to work the muscles in the back of the thigh. As the name implies, the seated hamstring curl targets the hamstring muscles here in the back of the thigh. Strong hamstring muscles help to protect your ligaments in the knee.”

She Does Hip Thrusts

French shared this video on Instagram of herself doing hip thrusts. She captioned it, “Hip Thrusts are no doubt one of the best exercises for building your Glutes but of course with any exercise, the form has to be correct for you to see the maximum benefits…✖️ Feet too far forwards will engage your hamstrings more ✖️ Feet too close to you will engage your quads more ✔️ Feet placed so your calves are vertical will engage your glutes more.”
