Lakey Peterson is soaking up the sea, sand, and surf on a trip to beautiful Fiji. Peterson, 30, shared highlights from her trip, including video of her snorkeling in a wetsuit, exploring the ocean and spear fishing. “Magic moments from Fiji so far. 1. Underwater cave dive with the queen @fayezoettt. 2. Speared my first ever fish and I’m now addicted. 3. Boat hangs 4.Tom Tom living his best life 😍 @thomas_allan. 5. All of our spirit animals 🐬🐬,” she captioned the post. Here’s how this star athlete stays fit and strong.

1. Yoga and Meditation

Peterson practices yoga and mindful meditation. “I think yoga is such a great way to slow down your mind,” she told Yoga Trade. “Oftentimes as an athlete you are doing so many things in a day from training, interviews, emails, watching footage, surfing (or whatever sport you do) that you forget to just take a moment and breathe. The mind is so powerful and I find in yoga I always finish a class with a clear head and ready to go again.”

2. Pilates and Recovery

Peterson says her approach to fitness has evolved. “I’ve learned to focus more on recovery and longevity rather than killing yourself in the gym,” she told American Surf Magazine. “Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of pilates, which is new. It’s amazing for surfing, because you’re putting yourself in positions with the reformers where you are lengthening and strengthening at the same time. That’s a lot of what surfing is. It may sound weird, but you want to be like a ballerina — with strength. That’s what looks great on a wave.”

3. Training Day

Peterson is up at 5.30 a.m on a typical training day. “Depending on how good the waves are, I'll surf for probably two hours, two and a half hours,” she told ESPN. “Then we watch some video review and go to the gym for an hour and a half. Then a little break and surfing for another two hours. I try to average four hours surfing a day, and I probably train five days a week. If the waves are really good one day, I won't train, I'll just surf for six hours. For me, my fitness is great in the gym, and that will always be there, but more time in the water and more time surfing is where I'm able to progress and catch up a lot more because I started late.”

4. Advice For Young Surfers

Peterson has good advice for aspiring professional surfers. “First, if you’re really serious about competing, surround yourself with a coach or parent who’s going to make sure it stays fun and keeps you focused on the big picture — someone who is result-based and life-based,” she told American Surf Magazine. “The combination of these two is important for your happiness and longevity in a career. Second, try tons of different boards. Try all the shapers you can — if you’re able to. And third, travel. It’s expensive, I know, but try your best to get to Hawaii, or waves of heavy water that are going to make you a better surfer.”

5. Protecting the Ocean

Peterson is strongly committed to protecting the ocean. “We really need to be aware of how much plastic we use. It is the biggest issue in today’s world,” she told Yoga Trade. “Start using your own coffee cup in the morning, bring your own forks and knives so you don’t need to use plastic ones, and try to challenge yourself to not buy anything in plastic at the supermarket. Its nearly impossible but really eye opening. Also, when you are out and about pick up five or more pieces of trash every time. All of these things add up, get involved and spread the word. It’s a team effort!”

French pro snowboarder Marion Haerty took some time away from the snowy slopes to enjoy hiking, biking, camping, and swimming back home near Chamonix, France. Haerty, 31, shared a reel of herself spending lots of outdoors time with friends, including a glimpse of herself wearing a swimsuit as she took a dip in a big pond. “Summer at home 🥰,” she captioned the post. Haerty is the snowboard Freeride World Champion of 2017, 2019, 2020 & 2022—here’s what she does to keep winning, and more importantly, have the time of her life.

1. Wakeboarding and Skateboarding

Haerty loves wakeboarding when she’s not snowboarding. “When the snowboard season is over, the cable parks in France begin to open,” she says. “If I would like to follow all of the wakeboard contests, it wouldn’t be possible because many of them are during the winter in Thailand, Australia etc. I like skateboarding as well, especially in the bowl! During the summer I spend my time mostly on my wakeboard when I’m not in school or with a job. I’ll ride something like one week in Les 2 Alpes for a summer camp with Rip Curl!”

2. Meditation Before An Event

Marion.HaertyMarion Haerty/Instagram

Haerty meditates to relax before competing. “When preparing I focus on strategy, riding fast and playing with the snow. I don’t want to injure myself so I take extra precautions when training,” she says. “I enjoy being out of my comfort zone and am aware that my limit is going to be 5 years on the world tour, so I also ride to not be injured and I try to push forward every year. Of course, when I’m scared the day before, I try to meditate and relax, so I am super happy when I’m on the snow.”

3. Yoga Sessions

Haerty has developed a deep appreciation for yoga and all the benefits that come from regular practice. “The more I grow the more I realize how important it is to have balance in my daily sports routine,” she captioned an Instagram post. “On & Off. Finding commitment in activities but also on a personal level starts with learning to listen, being aware of all senses and thinking about one thing at a time. During the first lockdown I had made yoga a morning routine, a time for me or the focus revolves around the present moment. I was coming out with vitality like I had never felt before, some would say this is a fad, but for me it has become a source of refocus and everyday well-being.”

4. Challenging Mother Nature

Haerty wanted to push her limits even further with freeriding. “I’m still happy to travel, to meet people and to discover other spots,” she says. “I rode the world championship in Kreischberg, it was super interesting to see the other girls ride slopestyle and to ride this big slopestyle course! I would like to ride this more often! I’m in love with riding powder but if I want to go into the Freeride World Tour later I need to have more experience about mountain practice. Freeriding is much more dangerous compared to slopestyle, Mother Nature is harder with you.”

5. Lots of Vegetables

Haerty limits meat when she wants to feel her best. “Every day I try a new exercise because I need to have fun and I get bored easily,” she says. “With diet, I try to keep healthy by cooking lots of vegetables and eating less meat. Otherwise, I like to take my time with reading books, meditating and doing yoga.”

Professional surfer Carissa Moore announced her retirement from competitive surfing back in January—but she still has the 2024 Paris Olympics to get through. Moore, 31, posted a picture of herself wearing shorts and a sports bra, in the colors of the United States flag. “Red, white, blue and stars ⭐️ Little sneak peek of what’s coming this summer @hurley 🥰🤭 Big thanks to the swim team for making my dream come true,” she captioned the post. Here’s how Moore prepares for the ultimate competition.

1. Hours of Surfing

Moore’s training consists of hours on the waves. “It’s important to find the best waves to train in,” she told Red Bull. “My schedule always flows from trying to find good surf. If the waves aren’t good, I’ll probably go for an hour, but if it’s good, I’ll surf more like three to four hours. I usually spend 40 minutes every morning warming up, especially when I’m on the road, doing moves that activate me and make me feel good. I use a band to activate my glutes, and I do dead bugs for my core. I also do a couple sun salutations to get the blood flowing.”

2. Beautiful Life

Moore has been surfing since she was 11 years old, and deeply loves being outdoors in nature. “Getting outside, moving and feeling the sunshine is something I incorporate into my everyday routine because it brings me so much joy,” she told Modern Luxury Hawaii. “Having an abundance of joy is the key to living a healthy, happy life… The idea of surrendering to the ocean and being open and adaptable to whatever comes my way has translated to my outlook on life. It has helped me to lean into my intuition, practice my faith, stress less and have more fun.”

3. Pilates and Running

Pilates,Studio,Room,With,Reformer,BedsShutterstock

Moore works out with a trainer three times a week, focusing on circuit training. “I don’t actually use too many weights; it’s mostly body weight. I train to make sure I can get in the water and do what I love every day,’ she told Red Bull. “I love burpees, skaters and mountain climbers. I do intervals, like 45 seconds on, 15 seconds off. My regimen is always changing, because I get bored if it’s the same workout. Each week I go to Pilates once and I usually go for a run twice.”

4. Healthy Hawaiian Diet

Moore genuinely enjoys healthy food. “I like the way that healthy food makes me feel. But I do like a nice muffin or some chocolate. It’s about moderation,” she told Red Bull. “My nutritionist has helped me find things that are light and also taste good. Growing up in Hawaii, food is such a beautiful social thing. It’s a big part of our culture to enjoy what you’re eating. It’s also a big part of traveling and experiencing a new place. On comp days, bananas, trail mix and GoMacro MacroBars—the banana and almond butter flavor is my favorite—are my go-to meals.”

5. Rest and Relaxation

Moore spends time at the beach even in her down time. “Getting quality sleep and making time to slow down and recharge is so essential to our overall well-being,” she told Modern Luxury Hawaii. “After I take a nap, if the waves are good, it’s back to the beach or wait for a sunset walk with my hubby and the pups.”

NCIS: Hawai'i star Tori Anderson spent September enjoying the beach—and a brand new puppy. Anderson, who plays Kate Whistler on the show, shared pictures of herself taking advantage of the beautiful terrain with her new pup Scottie, plus a gorgeous shot of her walking on the beach in a red bikini. “Bite size snack,” she captioned the post. Here’s how the actress lives her best life in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

1. Dealing With Shyness

Rodin Eckenroth/FilmMagic

Anderson credits acting with helping her to get over crippling shyness and anxiety as a child. “I was terrifyingly shy as a child to the point where my younger sister would ask questions for me,” she says. “I would actually tap her on the shoulder and get her to ask my questions for me. I was very, very nervous about talking to people in general. So for me, acting started at a young age. My parents put us in a local music festival. We did poetry, monologues, and Shakespeare from the time I was around ten. And I found that there was a freedom I experienced with acting and using someone else’s words that I hadn’t felt before. I found that it was liberating for me and it encouraged me to help me come out of my shell and take on different roles.”

2. Outdoorsy Canadian

Anderson loves the outdoors, having grown up on Vancouver Island. “It’s an incredibly idyllic place to grow up,” she says. “I grew up on a farm. It was a beautiful way to grow up. Then I moved to Toronto, and it was a totally different world. Yeah, I miss it. I definitely took it for granted and wish I would have explored more and everything, but that’s the beauty of being able to go home is that it’s there, and you can always go back and take it in. Yeah, it’s a remarkable place. It’s stunning, and the people are kind. There’s just beauty at every turn.”

3. Hawaiian Lifestyle

Anderson takes full advantage of the gorgeous Hawaiian landscape and lifestyle. “We’re both getting into surfing here, so I think we’re both trying to figure it out,” she says. “It’s a big shift from Toronto, but we’re making the most out of it. Hiking, surfing, I think we maybe might take a sailing class here or there. But, yeah, just trying to embrace it. The water is so beautiful, and the surfing is unreal. We went to the North Shore last year for the surf competitions and watched these surfers from all over the world, and lots from Hawaii just go on these waves. You have to have just an insane amount of respect for them. It’s a pretty wild place to see.”

4. Daredevil Dreams

Skydiving.,A,Skydiver,Is,Jumping,Out,Of,A,Plane.Shutterstock

Anderson would love the chance to do her own stunts. “I’m like a daredevil — well, I say that but I haven’t done a lot of crazy things,” she says. “But the thing is they won’t let us. I want to do the skydiving and all that stuff, but they won’t let [me]. I’ll have to do it behind their backs, secretly, maybe.”

5. Hallmark Christmas Star

Anderson is also a big Hallmark Christmas star, and watches the movies every year. “So I’m in my PJs with a cup of coffee, and it’s a morning thing,” she says. “My mother-in-law and my sister-in-law are huge, huge Hallmark fans and so they’ve always sort of recorded it from the night before, and then we wake up in the morning, and we’ll watch a Hallmark movie. We’re all kind of settling down and have had our breakfasts and are just sort of mellowing out on a Sunday or something and watching it. It’s sort of that kind of cozy vibe.”

Kayla Simmons is starting the week off with a swimsuit selfie. In one of her latest social media posts the volleyball star flaunts her amazing body in a black bathing suit with a plunging neckline. “Happy Monday,” she captioned the post with her followers. “Your gonna break the internet!” commented Nicole Pedra. “You are absolutely perfect,” commented another follower. How does Kayla maintain her physical and mental health? She abides by a few simple health habits.

1. Swimming and Snorkeling

Kayla is a water baby and can often be found in the ocean. Two of her favorite activities are swimming and snorkeling. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits of putting on a mask and fin may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

2. Surfing

Kayla is a surfer. There are many health benefits of the sport including cardiovascular fitness from paddling, shoulder and back strength, which also strengthen from the paddling, and leg and core strength. “Once you’re standing up on the board, strong legs and a strong core will keep you up,” the Australian government’s Better Health says.

3. Body Confidendce

“Being a former college athlete & growing up around sports has taught me to push myself to the limit,” Kayla said in an interview. “College athletics was a great experience for me, but it also taught me some valuable lessons. I was told by my school administrators that the pictures I post are inappropriate because of my body, I was even asked to delete my Instagram at one point. I was torn bc I felt I couldn’t embrace my body & play the sport I love. I’ve since learned that you can’t let other people affect how you feel about yourself.” She added to The Post in July 2019 that she hopes younger fans “know that it’s okay to just be yourself and feel confident.”

4. Hiking

Kayla also enjoys hiking. “Hawaii has my heart,” she captioned this photo from one of her hikes. “Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between,” says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.

5. An “All Natural” Body

Simmons, who has been dubbed the “world’s sexiest volleyball player,” addressed plastic surgery rumors during a Q&A on YouTube. “I got zero silicone. I’m all natural, I’m sick of answering that one, but yeah,” Simmons responded when asked, “How much silicone did you get?”

Mark Wahlberg isn’t slowing down in his 50s—if anything, he’s more shredded than ever. The actor, producer, and fitness enthusiast has built a reputation for his intense workouts and disciplined diet. In a recent TikTok, he gave fans a sneak peek at what’s fueling his muscle gains, from protein-packed meals to superfoods that keep him energized. If you’re wondering how Wahlberg stays jacked well into his 50s, here’s a breakdown of his go-to nutrition hacks.

He Eats Eggs

In his TikTok, Wahlberg is seen enjoying eggs with sausage. According to University Hospitals, eggs have a lot of health benefits. “At 70 calories each, eggs are a stellar protein source and a nutritional powerhouse. When eaten as part of a balanced diet, eggs provide multiple health benefits and are unlikely to pose a risk for heart disease.”

He Eats Salmon

Wahlberg is also seen enjoying salmon. The Mayo Clinic states that salmon has a lot of benefits. “Seafood in general, and salmon in particular, is a good choice for protein in the diet. If you can use salmon in place of a higher fat meat, that's even better. Salmon is probably best known for its omega-3 fatty acids. Called EPA and DHA, these fats may support heart health, brain function and healthy joints.”

He Likes Lemon Juice

Wahlberg is seen enjoying lemon juice in his TikTok. St. Vincent’s Medical Center states that lemon is very beneficial. “Weight-loss studies have also noted the effects of lemon. Drinking lemon water, which keeps you hydrated, increases your metabolism. One glass burns at least six calories. It can also help you feel full, making it easier to resist an urge to snack.”

He Likes Olive Oil

Another thing that Wahlberg is seen eating in his TikTok is olive oil. According to The Cleveland Clinic, olive oil has a lot of health benefits. “EVOO contains more than 20 types of polyphenols, a category of plant-based chemical compounds that help protect your heart and reduce inflammation throughout your body. Polyphenols are a type of antioxidant.”

He Gets Enough Protein

Protein is a big part of Wahlberg’s diet. He is not only seen eating high-protein foods like eggs and salmon in his TikTok, but he is also seen eating protein bars and powders. Piedmont states that protein is extremely important. “Protein is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage and skin. In fact, your hair and nails are composed mostly of protein. Your body uses it to build and repair tissue.”

He Eats Blueberries

Wahlberg is also seen enjoying blueberries in his TikTok. The Cleveland Clinic states that blueberries have a lot of benefits. “Because blueberries are high in fiber and lower in sugar when compared to other fruits, they don’t cause your blood sugar to spike. For people with certain health conditions, scientists suspect this positive effect could aid with blood sugar management.”

Rita Ora isn’t just a chart-topping singer and TV star—she’s also serious about staying fit. Whether she’s lighting up the stage with hits like Black Widow or guessing contestants on The Masked Singer, Ora makes sure to carve out time for the gym. In a recent Instagram post captioned "Come to the gym with me," she gave fans an inside look at her workout routine, and it’s packed with powerhouse moves. From treadmill runs to Pilates, here’s exactly how she keeps her body in top shape.

She Strength Trains

Ora is seen using dumbbells and a weighted shoulder press machine in her Instagram video. Both of these are considered strength training exercises. The Mayo Clinic says that strength training has a lot of benefits. “Strength training may enhance your quality of life and improve your ability to do everyday activities. Strength training can also protect your joints from injury. Building muscle also can contribute to better balance and may reduce your risk of falls. This can help you maintain independence as you age.”

She Runs On The Treadmill

Rita snaps a selfie on the treadmill

The first thing Ora does at the gym is run on the treadmill. Healthy Talbot states that this has a lot of benefits. “Jogging or running on a treadmill helps to lose weight as well as burn fat quickly and effectively. Yet it’s easier on your knees and joints than outdoor running. This is the most popular advantage of working out on a treadmill workouts. Besides, these workouts burn calories at a faster rate than other aerobic exercises. To burn calories even faster, you just need to run longer and faster on the machine.”

She Does Tricep Exercises

Rita Ora working her triceps

Ora is seen doing tricep curls in her Instagram video. Gymless says that all tricep workouts have a lot of benefits. “Our triceps muscles enable us to extend the elbows, and it is a powerful extender of the forearm. Triceps are often used for pushing, which is utilized in our everyday activities such as opening a door, inserting a plug into a socket, or moving furniture across the room.“

She Does Leg Presses

Ora is also seen using the leg press machine in her Instagram video. The Mayo Clinic says that this exercise is very beneficial. “The leg press is an exercise you can do with a weight machine to work a variety of muscles in the lower body. Specifically, the leg press targets the quadriceps muscles in the front of the thighs, the gluteal muscles in the buttocks, the hamstring muscles in the back of the thighs, and the calves, all in an integrated fashion. Since the leg press works several muscles at once, it's an especially efficient way to strengthen your lower body.”

She Does Pilates

Rita Ora on a Pilates reformer

The last workout that Ora is seen doing in her Instagram video is a session on the Pilates reformer. Pilates has a lot of health benefits. The Cleveland Clinic says, “Pilates is a form of strength training, but it doesn’t look like some of the other strength training exercises you might be familiar with. Pilates focuses more on improving muscle tone than building muscles, but the result is similar: greater stability and endurance. Pilates isn’t going to bulk you up — if anything, it’s designed to cultivate a longer, leaner look. Still, it can lay a strong physical foundation for muscle-building activities — and may even reduce your likelihood of injury.”

I don't have anything on them today really, except this product, but it's the Rare Beauty lifting gel stuff. I mean, Selena, 'thank you' is all I can say. I love it, so I'm going to put it up so that you know what it is, but that's what it is. That is the brow lifting that people are talking about. That's all I got."

For Hewitt, fitness is all about variety. “I try to switch it up a bit,” she told OK! Magazine. “I’ve found that if every week I do something different it tricks my muscles into not getting used to doing any one thing. I’ve been doing pilates, I’ve been doing yoga, I’ve done just plain old walking. I wear 10 pound weights on my ankles while I’m working just so that as I’m moving during the day I’m constantly building muscle. It’s not great for your back but I’m doing it anyway. I do a booty workout thing that I just did for Shape, which was really fun. And I do Zumba. I have DVDs and I dance around like a crazy person in my house.”
