LeAnn Rimes is heating up Ibiza in her bathing suit. In a new social media post the country singer gives her followers a glimpse of her recent vacation in Spain, while celebrating her 42nd birthday. "making magical memories! took a moment to hop off the crazy and beautiful ride my life has been on this year and just breathe and celebrate my birthday with my love, @eddiecibrian at @sixsenses.ibiza," she wrote in the caption. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are her top diet and fitness tips for staying in shape.

1

Focus on Your Breathing and Meditation

LeAnn is all about breathwork and meditation. "About six months ago, I started really focusing on taking care of myself," she told People, revealing that breathwork and meditation have become a daily practice. "A big part of my life has been overriding my body because I've had to show up and be on all the time. I've had to care about what people think of me for so long. So not abandoning myself and what I need has been a big shift."

Move at Least 4 Days a Week

LeAnn makes exercise a priority. "I take a jump rope with me everywhere I go, so it's easy to do and easy to do bodyweight workouts in my dressing room," she explained to Us Weekly

3

Do Glute Work

Rimes does a lot of glute work. "I do like my butt," she confessed. "I did something on Instagram called Tight Tush Tuesday and everybody kind of freaked out about it, so it's become a thing. I work pretty hard on my butt."

Do Yoga

LeAnn is a yogi. According to the American Osteopathic Association, there are more than 100 different types, or schools, of yoga. Most practices include breathing exercises, meditation, and assuming postures (sometimes called asana or poses) that stretch and flex various muscle groups."The relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain, such as lower back pain, arthritis, headaches and carpal tunnel syndrome," Natalie Nevins, DO, a board-certified osteopathic family physician and certified Kundalini Yoga instructor in Hollywood, California, explained to them. "Yoga can also lower blood pressure and reduce insomnia."

Other physical benefits of yoga include:

  • increased flexibility
  • increased muscle strength and tone
  • improved respiration, energy and vitality
  • maintaining a balanced metabolism
  • weight reduction
  • cardio and circulatory health
  • improved athletic performance
  • protection from injury

Healthy Eating

LeAnn focuses on maintaining a healthy diet. She starts the day with a green smoothie followed by a healthy lunch and dinner, maybe something with a cauliflower base, topped with a protein like marinated and baked tempeh or grilled chicken, and lots of greens and veggies. However, she does allow herself cheat meals. "Sometimes nourishment is the cake, the chips, the pizza, and the mac and cheese," she told Women's Health.
