Lucy Mecklenburgh is wishing she was drinking cocktails in her swimsuit. In one of her most recent social media posts the influencer shows off her amazing body in her bathing suit while having cocktails with some friends. “Why am I not doing this today,” she asks her Instagram followers. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Lucy Mecklenburgh stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
1. She Loves HIIT Workouts.
"I love short bursts of energy as it gets the pain over quickly. I hate doing things like running, I just find it really dull,” she told Women's Fitness, adding that that full-body HIIT is her, "favorite and least favorite because it's horrendous but it's amazing."
2. She Also Does Elongating Workouts
Since she became a mom, Lucy has changed her fitness focus. “I used to be a huge fan of HIIT but, since having my son Roman two years ago, I have changed my style of training,” she told Women’s Fitness. “I still love HIIT, but as a busy mum-of-two I have found it very useful to focus more on exercises that stretch my body and make me feel stronger. I am a huge fan of barre and Pilates.”
3. She Walks
Lucy also walks. “As any new mum and ones looking after toddlers will know, it can be exhausting. So, keeping fit helps with everything from fighting off the baby blues to encouraging you to get dressed and go out. Walking with a buggy or getting a change of scenery and some fresh air really helps you feel better about everything,” she told the publication.
4. She Spins

Lucy told Women’s Health that she cycles. “I’m doing intense cycling training for the first time ever and it has come as a shock to my body. I’ve learned how important it is to fuel my workouts – I can’t finish a three-hour ride unless I have eaten properly,” she said.
5. She Avoids Processed Food
“I’m strict with my diet in the week, but relax when I’m out socializing. Though if I have an event coming up I’ll limit sugary cocktails and desserts. It helps me stay lean and stops my skin from breaking out,” Lucy told Women’s Health about her approach to diet. “I’ve gone from eating lots of processed food to none at all, so preparation is important. I make my breakfast and lunch the night before and always have a bottle of water, a banana and some almonds in my bag for snacks.”
