MMA star Claudia Gadelha is sharing the results of a three-day fast with her fans and followers (always talk to a healthcare professional before trying anything similar!). Gadelha, 35, posted a video of herself wearing black shorts and a red sports bra, explaining how the multi-day fast made her feel. “Dana (my friend, my mentor, my inspiration) got me into my first 72-hour fast, and it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it cleared my mind and body. I’ve been thirsty, I’ve been hungry, I’ve been alone, and I’ve been broke. I already know what all of that looks and feels like, which is why I do everything in my power to never go back there. But I also never lose myself. I don’t quit on building the best version of me—and if you do the same in these five areas: health, career, relationships, and finances, you’ll discover the true essence of life and thrive,” she captioned the post. Here’s how the fighter stays focused and fit.

1. Fighting and Skateboarding

Gadelha trains six days a week, and stays active even in her down time. “Other than fighting, I enjoy planning and talking business for my career, and MMA Gym ventures,” she told The Abs Company. “I like going to the beach and skateboarding. I like to always keep my body and my mind in motion.”

2. Running and Jiu Jitsu

Gadelha genuinely loves to work out, and has good advice for beginners. “My favorite thing to do to train is Jiu Jitsu. I love it,” she told The Abs Company. “My favorite non-fight training exercise is running – outside for sure! I love to workout! It makes me feel so good during and after. I really feel satisfied after a good workout..and have that great feeling of accomplishment when I’m done… Start small but START. Do a little more today than you did yesterday. Be consistent and Stay Motivated. Believe in yourself and stay very committed! Follow your dreams..and you will make it there!”

3. Thorne Supplements

Gadelha uses THORNE supplements. “I start my supplement routine with probiotics, L glutamine powder, and creatine,” she says. “After that I eat my breakfast and then take all my other supplements, like Thorne’s vitamin C, vitamin D, Super EPA, [Curcumin Phytosome], and Glucosamine & Chondroitin.”

4. Everything In Moderation

Gadelha’s diet changes depending on her training. “I eat every 3 hours all year round,” she told The Abs Company. “I try to eat clean, but definitely indulge in some chocolate…in moderation of course. However when fight camp starts I eat totally clean and healthy with no ‘junk’ at all.”

5. The Sky’s the Limit

Gadelha is proud of how far she has come. “I still wake up every day with that drive, and I have learned so much from losses and mistakes, so now I feel like I have found the right formula to be happy in my personal life with all the other things I have going on in my career,” she told THORNE.
