MMA fighter Kayla Harrison is active even during her down time, but she’s making it fun. Harrison, 34, shared a video of herself wearing leggings and a sports bra, hiking in the gorgeous Utah mountains. “In my hiking girl (and no days off) era. 😌 My fight camp for #ufc307 continues here in #utah with a few of my favorite people. 🩵 📌10.5.24 #slc #hiking #outside #outdoors #mma #mmatraining #kaylaharrison,” she captioned the post. Here’s how the fighter stays strong, healthy, and happy.

1. Visualization Techniques

Harrison says all athletes have days where they question if the hard work is worth it. “I do a lot of visualization and positive thinking as part of my routine,” she told the Los Angeles Times. “Even when I’m not physically training, I’m training my mind to believe that I am a winner and believe that I’m the best. I visualize myself winning tournaments and winning the Olympics. And at night I go home and cry because it’s been such a bad day and I feel like I can’t do it anymore, but then I go through my little mantra and I visualize and listen to the right song, and then I feel a little bit better.”

2. Preparing For Pacheco

Harrison is never not training. “I train year-round anyway, so it’s not like, Oh, I’m back in the gym, or I take a longer time off or something like that,” she told the New York Post about preparing to fight Larissa Pacheco. “And the reality is, Larissa fights very similar to Cris Cyborg; she fights very similar to Amanda [Nunes]. These are heavy strikers. These are front-runners. These are girls who I’m thinking about all the time when I’m in the gym. So I’ve been preparing for this fight for a lot longer than three months, and I’m ready.”

3. Switching Up Her Routine

Harrison’s training routine changes depending on what her goals are. “I was fortunate to be able to work one-on-one with a strength and conditioning coach three to five days a week,” she told the Los Angeles Times. “We also run sprints and intervals three to five days a week, and we do judo every single day. Judo doesn’t have a season per se, but there are down times when I really need to focus on building my strength, but before competition I need to focus on conditioning and getting in as good shape as possible. Sometimes I do Olympic-style lifts, and others I do a lot of circuit training. It depends where I am in the year and what I’m peaking for.”

4. Nachos and Chocolate Cake

Harrison lets herself splurge after a fight diet-wise. “Post-fight, I love nachos. And I always get chocolate cake after I weigh in” she told the New York Post. “Chocolate cake is a must. … I’m a lightweight for a reason: I’m known to eat (laughs). [If] it’s not nailed down, I’ll probably eat it. But I’m lucky. I don’t live to eat; I eat to live.”

5. Role Model

Harrison says her number one goal is to be healthy. “I try to instill a healthy lifestyle into my children, more importantly,” she told the New York Post. “Maybe before I had my kids, I didn’t think about it as much. But now that I have them and I am so conscious of [diet], I want them to grow up and be healthy and capable of making good choices and understand the difference between the choices they’re making, I’m much more health conscious. And we have a pretty clean household. On the weekends, we tend to let our hair down a little bit.”

2. She Has Dogs

She captioned the post, “Front squatting with two kettle bells like this is SO AWKWARD , it’s only 70 pounds which for a back squat is nothing but doing it this way is actually weirdly hard . I dislike it greatly 😂 but when my PT gives orders I listen ( orders came from @kimeperformancept ).”

5. She Swims

Ladd likes to swim to stay in shape. She shared this video on Instagram of herself and her dogs enjoying a day at the lake. Taliqua Clancy, an accomplished beach volleyball player, made history as the first Indigenous Australian to compete in Olympic volleyball. She won a silver medal at the 2020 Games alongside partner Mariafe Artacho del Solar and is now competing on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. Recently, she posted a photo of herself spiking the ball on Instagram, captioned, “Back on tour 😃 with @georgia_johnson. 7th Place at Haikou Challenger 🇨🇳.” From her dedication to wellness to her role as a trailblazer, Clancy embodies excellence both on and off the court.

1. She’s Consistent

Clancy shared some of her wellness secrets in an interview with Body + Soul. When it comes to fitness, she makes sure to be consistent. Especially in the offseasons. “It gets a bit harder [to train] once we’re on the road, so that maintenance and rehab we have in the preseason is super important. I think winter is actually the most important time to be active. Not just for your physical goals, but for your mental health.”

2. She Wants To Be A Role Model

Clancy wants to be a role model for her community. She opened up about being an Indigenous athlete to Body + Soul. “Competing in my first Olympics, I really had that understanding of how important it was for my community. Being able to have that representation of our mob doing well is just so important. And if that leads [young Indigenous Australians] into sport, that’s amazing. But if it just helps them excel in whatever they choose to do with their life, that’s also amazing.”

3. She Eats A Balanced Diet

Clancy talked about her diet in her Body + Soul interview. She says that she is a big believer in balance. “If you want to have that winter snack that makes you feel cosy, [go ahead]. But it’s about finding balance. It’s important to have good, healthy proteins, so [reach for] protein powders and protein snacks. [And] I definitely take time to just relax. It’s OK to enjoy a wine with dinner.”

4. She Works Out With Others

Since Clancy plays beach volleyball, she’s used to working out with someone else. She tells Body + Soul that she likes to hit the gym with friends. “I think it’s good to have somebody to help with your accountability. It can help with those tough days. I’ve always been more drawn to team sports because I enjoy working out with somebody else.”

5. She Hikes

Clancy shared this photo on Instagram of herself hiking in Switzerland. According to Piedmont, hiking has a lot of health benefits. “Going up and down hills gets the heart pumping, creating a great cardio workout. Like most cardio exercises, hiking helps reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and even some cancers.”

Jessica Olie is a very successful influencer. She is known for her fitness content on Instagram. Olie recently enjoyed a trip to Arizona, and did a lot of hiking there. She shared a post on her page of herself and her boyfriend enjoying the scenery. Olie captioned it, “A sky full of stars 🌌 Hiking up in the dark under the stars was so special, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many at once 🥹✨ No.7 to see the sunrise at the top of Cathedral Rock, I didn’t think we’d get any pink (wait for it) and then all of a sudden the whole sky changed colour 🌄🙏🏼”

She Hikes

As you can see from her Instagram post, Olie likes to hike to keep herself in shape. She shared this post on Instagram of herself and her boyfriend enjoying a morning hike in Sedona. Olie captioned it, “Exploring the world with you 🥹🌵🥾🌄❤️🔥We hiked up Cathedral Rock in the dark to watch the sunrise at the top and it was one of my favorite things we’ve ever done ✨As we walked up, we watched a sky full of stars slowly turn pink just before the sun came up to say good morning 🌅”

She Strength Trains

Olie does a lot of strength training to keep herself in shape. She shared some of her favorite exercises in this Instagram post. Olie captioned it, “When I decided that I wanted to run 57miles (93km) for my Dad for charity in April 2025, I knew my training was going to have to change and running would of course take priority. BUT, my strength training has helped prep my bones and body so nicely for the increase in running and my yoga has of course done wonders for injury prevention. So, I’ve gone from 4 strength sessions a week to 2-3 & 0 runs a few months ago to now 5 x a week.”

She's Consistent

Olie makes sure to workout on a regular basis, no matter how busy her life gets. She shared one of her favorite quick workouts in this Instagram post. Olie captioned it, “To some this might look like an ‘incomplete’ workout, but this is what it looks like when you’re busy and don’t have as much time as normal to train but you still want to get your favorites in and MOVE. So, this is my workout from the other day. It was short, it was sweet and I hit a few of my favorites in 30min. Something is always better than nothing. I always feel better doing what I can with the time I have available to me, even if it looks different sometimes.”

She Does Pull-Ups

Jessica Olie is seen doing a pull-up.

Jessica Olie/Instagram

In the previous Instagram post, Olie is seen doing pull-ups. Gymless states that this exercise has a lot of benefits. “Pull-ups can give size and strength to your upper body muscles. It allows you to target your lats, biceps, traps, and many more muscles. Practicing this consistently along with other variations that target different muscle groups, inevitably will give you the muscular aesthetics that you’re seeking. A study emphasized this by suggesting that this close kinetic chain exercise is designed to increase the muscular strength and endurance of the upper body and torso.”

She Does Lunges

Olie is also seen doing lunges with a barbell in the previous Instagram post. ACE Fitness says that lunges are a form of unilateral training, which makes them very beneficial to do. “Unilateral training is a more effective way to build functional strength (than using both legs) because these types of movement mimic other everyday motions, like walking and climbing stairs — and not just to the working leg. Research suggests the strength gains to the nonworking side are about half of the strength gains of the working side.”

How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

She Loves Bananas

Tammy Hebrew has a banana snack.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying bananas in her “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

She Loves Cottage Cheese

Tammy Hebrew's snack the contains banana and cottage cheese.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying her bananas with cottage cheese in the previous Instagram video. Cottage cheese is very healthy. It’s hard to believe that Jennifer Aniston is 55 and turning 56 in February! Since soaring to fame in 1994, the Friends star has hardly aged in the three decades that have passed – and she has never been secretive about her devotion to health and wellness. Her hard work over the years has paid off through her strong and lean body and ageless looks. Here is everything you need to know about Jennifer Aniston’s approach to longevity.

She Maintains a High Protein Diet

Jennifer Aniston arrives to the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards

"My nutrition is very much the same. It's usually a lot of high protein, vegetables, salads, soups,” she tells People. “I do 80/20. I give myself days where I can have whatever I want. I don’t deprive myself,” she added to TODAY. Why should you consider amping up your protein intake? According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW) but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

She Cheats on Occasion

Jennifer allows herself to indulge in “everything I would possibly want on a weekend,” she told People. Her cheat meal “depends,” she says. “I mean, dare I sound repetitive, but Mexican food is a real favorite of mine. It's not even that much of a cheat, to be honest. Or a cheeseburger or pizza or pasta — all that stuff.”

She Tries to Get Enough Sleep

“My bigger challenge is sleep. I think that’s all part of our nutritional hygiene — the amount of water we get as well as the amount of sleep we get. It’s the combination of all of those things that make your workouts the most effective," she told TODAY.

She Exercises in the Morning

“I’ve become gentler with myself,” she says of her approach to fitness, which has “definitely evolved” over the years. “I find that I can be gentler on my body and still get the benefits of a great workout,” she told Prevention. She specifically loves P.Volve workouts, a functional fitness that helps you “function throughout the day” and “work out your essential muscle groups to keep your body strong,” she says. “So you can live a long, healthy, strong life.”

She Hydrates

Aniston prioritizes hydration, drinking a whopping 100 ounces of water per day. "But occasionally I just have to have a Diet Coke—there's nothing like it!" According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is essential for various reasons. Water helps eliminate waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature regular, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

She Does Pilates, Spinning, Elliptical, and Running Workouts

“I had an injury last fall and I was only able to do Pilates, which I absolutely love. But I was missing that kind of sweat when you just go for it,” she recently told InStyle. “I'm going back to my 15-15-15, which is a 15-minute spin, elliptical, run. And then just old school: I can chase myself around a gym. I need some kind of movement, even if it's just 10 minutes a day on a trampoline.”
