Carmen Jorda, the professional racer, is admired for more than just her talent on the track. Recently, she shared photos of herself in two-piece workout gear, showcasing her dedication to fitness and health. From core exercises to Pilates, Jorda incorporates a wide range of activities into her routine, ensuring she stays strong and balanced. Even with a demanding travel schedule, she finds ways to maintain her workouts, hitting the gym wherever she goes. In addition to staying physically active, Jorda takes time to relax and enjoy life, whether skiing down slopes or soaking up the summer sun. Her holistic approach to wellness highlights the importance of both physical fitness and mental well-being.
1. She Loves Core Exercises
In the same post mentioned above, Jorda shared that she loves to focus on her core. “Practice makes perfect 🏁That’s why I am to train core workout 2-3 times per week,” she wrote. Too often, people ignore their core, but the Mayo Clinic emphasizes the importance of working out your abs. “Core exercises train the muscles in your core to work in harmony,” the site states. “This leads to better balance and steadiness, also called stability. Stability is important whether you're on the playing field or doing regular activities. In fact, most sports and other physical activities depend on stable core muscles.”
2. She Works Out While Traveling
Mainting a version of your workout routine is recommended by fitness experts so you remain consistent. According to the Movesapp, even though your travel schedule might seem jammed packed, it’s important to still squeeze in some movement. “When you’re stretched thin by travel, exercising might fall low on your priority list. But workouts can add structure to hectic and unpredictable travel days and keep your energy levels high.” And Jorda proves she never misses a workout, even on the road. In June, the racer was in England and she posted pics of herself hitting the gym, which she captioned, “My new fav spot in London ❤️🔥💪🏼@peakfitnessclubandspa”
3. She Skis
Jorda continuously stays active, and skiing is one way she stays so toned. “Skiing is a full-body workout that uses different muscles at different times in a dynamic way,” per the Idaho Sports Medicine Institute. “The main muscles that skiing uses are your abdominal muscles, glutes, quads, hamstrings, adductors, feet/ankles, biceps, and triceps. If you’re new to skiing, you can expect to be more tired than a seasoned skier because of a lack of technique. “Snowploughing” and doing the “pizza” can be extremely demanding on your quads, hamstrings, adductors, and calves.”
4. She Does Pilates
Wearing a two-piece black and white checkered workout gear, Jorda showed off her toned body in an Instagram video tagging her Pilates instructor. According to the Cleveland Clinic, Pilates has several health benefits, including improved muscle tone, flexibility and strength, pain relief, better posture, and balance and coordination. “The nearly century-old practice of Pilates provides a low-impact, full-body workout that could be a great addition to a well-balanced exercise program,” the site stated. “While the research on the health benefits of Pilates isn’t definitive, it suggests Pilates can positively impact your physical and mental health.”
5. She Takes Time to Relax
It’s not always easy to carve time out to enjoy a day off or relax with a busy schedule, but Jorda makes it a priority. She recently showed fans what the few weeks have been like for her in a series of photos that began with her on a boat soaking up the sun. “Couldn’t have asked for a better summer,” she captioned the post. “The ability to relax and de-stress is important for maintaining mental health and can be very helpful for lessening symptoms of many mental and physical health conditions,” the American Psychiatric Association stated. “For example, relaxation can improve focus and mood, sleep quality, blood pressure, and digestion.”
