Kay Adams, known for her NFL coverage and hosting Up & Adams, frequently shares glimpses of her life and fitness routine on Instagram. Recently, she posted a mirror selfie in black workout clothes during a Q&A with fans. In an interview with GQ, Adams revealed that she works out early in the mornings, combining hiking and Pilates to stay active. Whether she's working out, walking, or swimming, Adams stays committed to keeping fit while balancing her passion for live television and NFL coverage.

1. She Works Out In The Morning

Fitness,Girl,Lifting,Dumbbell,In,The,Morning.Shutterstock

In an interview with GQ, Adams talked about her life and career. She says that she works out in the mornings. “I will wake up and do a hike at like 5:30 in the morning. This weekend I might do a hike and a Pilates class. Then I will feel good about all of my time on the couch. During the games, I’m taking notes and feverishly texting my producer. But other than that, I just watch like everybody else. I’m a fan!”

2. She Enjoys Her Job

Adams tells GQ that she’s lucky to be doing a job she loves. “I think every Sunday—every week, every quarter, every minute—is so precious. That’s one of the big lessons as you do this job: the preciousness of the moments in an NFL season. They’re so fleeting. I’ll catch myself on a Tuesday morning saying, ‘Let’s wrap up Week 11.’ Week 11?! My heart skips a beat because I love the NFL, I love football, I love celebrating the game, and it ends too soon! I’m a fan of the extended season and expanded playoffs because I can’t get enough.”

3. She’s Comfortable On Live TV

Adams shared her favorite type of journalism in her GQ interview. “I love live [TV]. I would pick live over anything, any way. I hate taping anything. I think I’m too impatient to want to do something again, or edit. If you do something live, it’s behind you, there’s nothing you can do about it. There’s a real sense of being in the present moment that I don’t shy away from. I’m saying impatient, but maybe I mean lazy. I just don’t want to do anything again. I think it’s always the best the first time. I think I’m always my best the first time. If I’m not, I’ve got another chance to do it 23 hours later.”

4. She Walks

Adams likes to walk to keep herself in shape. She shared these photos of herself walking and enjoying the scenery on vacation on her Instagram. Adams captioned the post, “Wallflower.” Adams also posted this set of photos from the Riviera Maya. In the first one, she is seen walking on a bridge. Lastly, she is seen taking a couple of walks in this reel, and captioned it, “Rancho relaxo.”

5. She Swims

Adams likes to swim to keep herself in shape. She posted this photo on Instagram of herself in a pool in Aspen. Better Health reports that swimming has a lot of benefits. “Swimming is a great recreational activity for people of all ages. Recreational swimming can provide you with a low-impact workout and it's a good way to relax and feel good. Swimming is a great workout because you need to move your whole body against the resistance of the water.”

In the previous Instagram video, Adams is seen lifting weights. ACE Fitness states that this can have a lot of benefits. “Lifting heavy weights elevates levels of anabolic hormones—specifically testosterone, growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1)—which are used to repair muscle fibers damaged during exercise. This helps the muscle fibers to become thicker and capable of generating higher levels of force.”

She Doesn’t Stress About Her Diet

Adams has learned to not stress about her diet. She opened up about this in the caption of this workout video she shared on Instagram. “Celebrating the small wins ❤️🩹 Any kind of carb or calorie during training used to scare me. She Does Lunges

In this workout video on her Instagram, Adams is seen doing lunges. According to The Mayo Clinic, these have a lot of health benefits. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles. The lunge is a great conditioning exercise for many sports, especially those that involve lunging movements, such as tennis, basketball or soccer.”

She Uses A Fitness Bike

Adams is seen using a stationary bike in this Instagram post. Doing this can have a lot of health benefits. Penn State PRO Wellness says, “Cycling is an excellent way to get your heart pumping. Cardiovascular or aerobic workouts, such as cycling, strengthen your heart, lungs, and muscles. They also improve the flow of blood and oxygen throughout your body. This, in turn, can benefit your health in a number of ways.”

How does the sunbathing beauty keep herself fit and happy? She has a few simple health habits she prioritizes on a daily basis.

1. Self-Care and Mindfulness

Relaxed,African,Woman,Taking,Bath,With,Foam,With,Pleasure,,EnjoyingShutterstock

Monica is all about self-care. “The only [routine] thing I try to be mindful to create for myself is at least one day off a week--- completely off,” Monica told XONecole. “I'm very mindful of that self-care time, which is a dope bath, with Epsom salts, candles, music. The nature of the beast is keeping up---whether it's a game broadcast or a studio broadcast or the podcast. It's important to take that time to recharge.”

2. Regular Gym Workouts

You can Monica at the gym “regularly,” she told the publication. “I travel with gym clothes, and even if I [only] have 20 minutes, I'm going to get that 20 minutes to get some sweat in. As I've gotten older, I start to feel wired and almost anxious. Working out is hugely important to me.”

3. Surrounding Herself with Love

Monica says that keeping an “intimate circle” around is “hugely important” to her. “I kind of argue with them sometimes as to whether I'm an introvert. I don't know! I just draw a lot of energy from solo time. The nature of my career path is to have on the 'on' switch. I don't know if people realize the energy that requires, so when I get to spend time with my man or my friends and do nothing, I relish the opportunity to do nothing. When my time is free, I'm doing nothing, on purpose,” she told the publication.

4. Kettlebells

Monica trains at Harlem Kettlebell Club – a fitness studio specializing in the weights. “I’m big on Wellness & know that looks different for everybody. Personally a good gym session is part of my wellness equation but that doesn’t mean you always love it in midst of it. S/o to @saneetarenee for helping me work off the week on Friday. Make time to take care of yourself, y’all. Be good to you,” she captioned a recent post of her kettlebell workout.

5. Basketball

Basketball is one of Monica’s go-to workouts and actitvities. “Basketball promotes speed, agility, strength, power and endurance. It [has] also been shown to increase flexibility and motor coordination. As a result, basketball is uniquely oriented to improve fundamental motor skills that are shown to be beneficial in promoting general health,” Koco Eaton, M.D., orthopedic surgeon, founder of Eaton Orthopaedics and a former basketball player, tells Nike.

Megan Olivi is a professional reporter. She is known for her coverage of the MMA and The San Diego Padres. Olivi recently shared a carousel post of her favorite 2024 memories on Instagram. In them, she is seen spending time with her loved ones and her dog. Olivi captioned the post, “A few favorite 2024 moments .. too lazy to make a reel 😂 .. more posts to come.”

She Gained Experience In Her Field

Olivi talked about her career and what advice she gives to others in an interview with The Province. “I always tell people that I feel like experience is the biggest thing,” she said. “When people are trying to decide what they want to do, I always tell everyone, ‘Just go where you can intern and that way you know if you like it or not.’ I would have went into the world of politics thinking this is what I want to do forever, probably hating my life and making nothing, but who has the time for that?”

She Works Hard

Olivi makes sure to work hard. She talked about taking a job at Heavy.com and going all in on it to The Province. “I told my family – they were hysterical and then they were supportive – and I was just like, ‘Okay, I’m going to do this’ and I dove in headfirst. If I ever do something, I give it everything and so I was going to give it my everything and it became a real passion, both professionally and personally.”

She Doesn't Put Up With Mistreatment

Olivi encouraged people to not put up with mistreatment, even if it’s at work in her Province interview. “As long as you’re not showing up to work drunk or hungover or with a serious drug problem – if you love horror movies and that’s not okay, that’s not okay. It’s like, ‘Why do you care if I’m drinking or not? Why do you care what I’m doing on my free time? I’m not asking you what you were doing.’ My free time consists of me doing yoga and hanging out with my dog, that’s about it. If that bothers you, we have an issue. And if they tell you that you look ugly with a ponytail, tell them to go **** themselves because that’s not okay.”

She Wants To Make People Comfortable

Olivi shared how she approaches interviews with The Province. “Because I work for the UFC, they know I’m not going to stir the pot with them,” she explained. “I’m not going to bring up things that are going to catch them off guard; that’s not my deal. My deal is we’ve got this incredible platform and everyone on our roster has got a story to tell, so let me give you a safe space so that people that see you in the Octagon know what you’re like when it’s been two months since your fight and you’re just chilling with your family. That’s really important to me.”

She Hikes

Megan Olivi is seen hiking with family.

Olivi is seen on a hike with friends in her Instagram post. Hiking has a lot of benefits. Piedmont states, “Hiking is a weight-bearing exercise that builds muscle mass and helps prevent osteoporosis. Hiking can help you manage your weight. It is a joint-friendly form of exercise that can keep arthritis sufferers more limber and mobile.”

A natural athlete, Haley started getting burnt out with gymnastics and cross country. Next to her gym was a CrossFit studio. “Wow, that’s really cool, and I would love to try that,” she thought. “I looked up CrossFit Games because I knew nothing about it, but I would see these girls competing and they had just had the teen division the year before because I remember watching that,” Adams told Muscle & Fitness. “With being very competitive, I wanted to try it and I was able to make the games the next year and after that, it was a wrap. I just fell in love with the process, training and the rest is history.”

4. Sauna

Adams focuses on recovery. “I love the sauna,” she says. “I’m usually in there for about 25 to 30 minutes and about two to three times a week.” Should you take a dry sauna? While some claim the health benefits of saunas are plentiful, including detoxification, increased metabolism, weight loss, increased blood circulation, pain reduction, antiaging, skin rejuvenation, improved cardiovascular function, improved immune function, improved sleep, stress management, and relaxation, there isn’t a lot of research backing up the claims.

5. Sleep

“Obviously, a lot of sleep as well,” is helpful. “I try to get a minimum of eight hours a night,” she says. “Learning more about my sleep, recovery, what things help me feel better, and having the data to prove it has been huge,” she recently said on the Whoop podcast. “Even the little things, like when I eat, what I eat, and knowing how that affects me have made a big difference with my performance.”

This exercise is vital for developing a stronger posterior chain, contributing to improved athletic performance, alleviating lower back pain, and enhancing overall physique. From skincare rituals to core-sculpting workouts, De Bortoli’s daily habits make it clear that staying in shape is about more than just hitting the gym. Whether she’s cooking up homemade meals, breaking a sweat, or showing off a fresh new look, she’s all about feeling her best from the inside out. She Takes Care Of Her Skin

De Bortoli has impressive skin. Naturally, she takes care of it on a regular basis. De Bortoli shared this video on Instagram sharing her skincare routine. She captioned it, “The secret to perfect skin? Here is my step by step routine! ✨💦🎀 What product can you absolutely not live without?”

She Changed Her Hair Color

De Bortoli recently changed her hair color. She explained why in the caption of this Instagram post. “The good thing about this color is that it does not require frequent touch-ups and it easily adapts to natural hair growth, it is versatile and can enhance any body and face shape 🧡for those who are tired of blonde or brown, bronde is the solution to change harmony without distortion 🤍for those who have a fair complexion, the most golden tone is recommended 🤎 for the dark complexion, on the other hand, more ash brown ❤️ 🔥what can I say... For me the bronde conquered, and what do you think?”

She Cooks

De Bortoli likes to cook, and she was taught to do so by her grandmother. She shared this video on Instagram of herself and her grandmother cooking together. De Bortoli captioned it, “Grandparents are wealth in society, my grandmother loves to cook and do it with her since I was a child. She has always inspired my creativity, patience, discipline and order but above all traditions, history, and the concreteness of nature's gifts. The greatest teaching my grandparents passed on to me is respect for people, the environment, animals and the kitchen... Today together we made Carnival Frittelle, an easy, quick dessert that adults and kids love. The ingredients are few and simple (but of high quality) and, trust me, the result is guaranteed: nice round but above all soft and tasty.”

She Works Her Abs

De Bortoli shared this video of herself working out on Instagram. In it, she is seen doing core exercises like sit-ups. Core exercises are extremely important. The Mayo Clinic says, “Strong core muscles make it easier to do many activities. When your core muscles are strong, it's easier to swing a golf club, get a glass from the top shelf and bend down to tie your shoes. Strong core muscles help athletes, such as runners. That's because weak core muscles can lead to more fatigue, less endurance and injuries.”

She Works Out With Others

In the previous Instagram video, De Bortoli is seen working out with a friend. Better Health says that this has a lot of benefits. “You’re less likely to get bored when you have a workout buddy, especially a friend. While you’re catching up, having a laugh, encouraging each other, you’re also getting healthier. It’s a win-win. Chatting to a friend during exercise and breaks can help time pass quickly too. You’ll have more options as well, such as a game of tennis or squash.”

Kristin Cavallari is a reality TV and fashion icon. Since she debuted on Laguna Beach, people have clamoured for her fashion and beauty secrets. Cavallari recently shared her eye makeup secrets on Instagram, after several people asked for them. She captioned the post, “This is for the girlies in my DMs asking about this eye every time I do it. Sorry the lighting is awful. I also don’t know why the audio isn’t in sync for half of it 🫣 but here ya go 💗”

She's Less Strict With Her Diet

Kristin shares a Zucchini Almond Butter Blondies recipe

Kristin Cavallari/Instagram

Cavallari has written several cookbooks, and they have changed as her diet has changed. While promoting her book, Truly Simple with EatingWell, she revealed that her diet is less strict. “I've gotten to a point in my life where not everything has to be so perfect anymore,” Cavallari said. “I used to be so strict about what I was putting in my body. I'm still very healthy and very conscious of it, but I've gotten a little bit more lax. True Roots and True Comfort had nothing ‘white’ in them: no white flour, no white sugar, no white salt. But in Truly Simple, I bend a little bit in a few of the recipes, which really reflects where I am in my life and my new way of eating. Everything is a little bit more relaxed around here now.’

She Loves Cauliflower

Cavallari tells EatingWell that she loves making foods with cauliflower. “I love cauliflower because I think it's very versatile, and there's actually a Sweet Harissa Cauliflower recipe in Truly Simple that's my absolute favorite cauliflower recipe on the planet. If you've ever been to True Food Kitchen, their cauliflower was the inspiration behind it. There's this sweet harissa dressing that's on it, and there's little chopped-up dates in it, so it has that nice balance between sweet and savory. It's the absolute best.”

She Loves Salad

Cavallari likes to make salads. She shared one of her favorite recipes with EatingWell. “This salad has a few of my favorite things: salmon (which has omega-3s and is so, so good for you), bacon (no explanation needed), avocado (healthy fats), and spicy tomatillo ranch dressing (just yum). Together, they create culinary heaven. If you aren't familiar with tomatillos, they're similar to tomatoes but are slightly less sweet and are perfect when drenched in ranch.”

She Works With A Trainer

Cavallari tells Us Weekly that a lot of her gym sessions are with her personal trainer. “He kicks my ass,” she says. “He pushes me really hard. He has me actually lifting really heavy weight, the heaviest weight I’ve ever lifted in my entire life. I feel the best I ever have. I feel like I’m the strongest I’ve ever been.”

She Shared Her Eye Makeup Trick

Cavallari shared some of her wellness secrets in an interview with Us Weekly. She says that consistency is one of her biggest priorities. “My goal is sort of, right now, just to maintain the muscle that I have,” she says. “I’m really petite. I have no hips. I’m just small. And so if I don’t work out for like a week or two, I feel like all my muscle goes away. So it is about consistency for me.”
