Catie Munnings, a professional rally driver and winner of the 2016 European Rally Championships for women, brings passion and determination to every race. Competing in Extreme E events, she also finds time to explore adventures off the track. In October, she shared a video on Instagram of herself paragliding at the GoPro Base Camp, showcasing her love for pushing limits and staying active.

1. She Stays Centered

Munnings shared how she stays centered in an interview with Brummel Magazine. “I always stay grateful for how much I’ve got and focus on that, even if others around me seem to have more. As for resilience – I have a really good support network, I rely on my family a lot. Maintaining a good, stable mindset is also important. Having a grounded place means you don’t take every decision that’s made around you personally. Because it is business at the end of the day.”

2. She Wants To Promote Female Races

Munnings tells Tempus Magazine that she wants the racing world to be more inclusive to women. “I think championships like Extreme E having a regulation that each team should have a male and a female, and a combined overall result for the team really increases the level that the females are racing at because it provides more opportunities and more incentives for teams to train and support females developing in Motorsport. We’ve seen the level of talent rise a lot from the first season until now. There was a bit of a gap between the males and females at the start of Season 1, and now we regularly have race winners that are females over the men which is awesome to see.”

3. She Supports The Environment

Munnings wants to support the environment. In the caption of this Instagram video, she talked about protecting coral reefs. “@carlosduartephd has a massive project to grow and replant the coral reef in the Red Sea at the university of KAUST, each year it has to adapt to higher temperatures. We visited shark reef to see them at work. 1 in 4 marine animal relies on the reef, and 1 billion people around the world depend on the reef for livelihood. Amazing to see the work the marine biologists are doing to protect it 🫶🏼🌍”

4. She Swims

Munnings likes to swim to keep herself in shape. In the previous Instagram link, Munnings is seen snorkeling. The Cleveland Clinic states that swimming has a lot of benefits. “Swimming isn’t just good exercise, it’s great exercise. That’s thanks to the water itself, which offers buoyancy and resistance that makes it easier on your whole body than other forms of exercise.”

5. She Hikes

Munnings also enjoys going for hikes to keep herself in shape. She shared this photo on Instagram of herself on a mountain with her dog. Hiking has a lot of benefits. Harvard Health states that, “Like brisk walking, hiking is a good way to improve your cardiovascular fitness, particularly if your route includes some hills, which will force your heart to work harder. Taking a hike on the slightly uneven surface of a trail also provides a natural way to engage the core muscles in your torso and to hone your balance skills.”

Mel Reid is celebrating on the green in her workout gear. The golf star recently shared a moment with fellow golfer Celine Boutier after she clinched a win against Lexi Thompson during the 2024 Solheim Cup. Dressed in white shorts and a star-spangled top, Reid, known as one of the fittest golfers in the world, stays in shape through a combination of challenging workouts and balanced priorities. From intense gym sessions to goat yoga, Reid has embraced a holistic approach to fitness and personal well-being. Here’s how she keeps her body and mind sharp while navigating her professional and personal life.

1. She Has a Trainer

The Solheim Cup - Final RoundDavid Cannon/Getty Images

Sporting white shorts and a white shorts-sleeved white and blue top with stars, Reid recently celebrated with Celine Boutier after she won her match against Lexi Thompson on the 18th green during the singles matches on the final day of the 2024 Solheim Cup at The Robert Trent. Reid is known for being one of the top players in women’s golf but also billed as “one of the fittest golfers in the world,” per Golf Magazine. One way Reid stays in such great shape is by working out with Ken Macdonald, who is a level 3 Golf Fitness Specialist and Certified Tennis Performance Specialist.

2. She Does Density Workouts

Mel ReidGolf Magazine

Reid shows off her impressive gym skills in a video for Golf Magazine. Her trainer, Macdonald, was also on hand to explain her intense workout regime. “It’s a 15-minute density set, which means we’re going to do five exercises in a circuit fashion.” Each exercise is done in about one minute.‘What we’re trying to do is get some strength and power but in an endurance fashion,” Macdonald said.

3. She Does Goat Yoga

Goat Yoga has become increasingly popular over the last few years, and Reid has tried out the hot fitness craze in a post captioned “In the presence of greatness. G.O.A.T.” Reid has a goat on her back and is in a yoga pose. According to Arizona Goat Yoga, the out-of-the-ordinary workout has several benefits, including stress release, increased mindfulness, mood enhancement, and a connection to nature and animals.

4. She Has a Strong Communtiy

Reid often travels for work with her wife and their baby, which is challenging, but she explained how they make it work in an interview with LPGA.“The people that have been very welcoming and open to staying with us have made a huge difference,” Mel said. “It gives us a little bit of a break at the end of the day because they want to just hang out with Kai, as well. He is starting to recognize faces. He sees Emily (Kristine Pedersen), and he sees Carlota (Ciganda), and he sees Olly (Brett), and he gravitates to them. I think that's a cool experience, not just for us but for them as well.”

5. Learning Balance and New Priorites

Reid shifted her focus to motherhood when their son was born, and golf is no longer the top priority. “Golf is secondary, if not third, now to be honest with you,” Mel explained in the LPGA interview. “I've always played golf for myself and tried to prove to myself that I can do this. The competitiveness inside of me, it's almost taken that away a little bit. I can have a bad day, and it sucks, but it doesn't suck anywhere near as much as it used to. I have to find that little fire in me again to see what my purpose is on the golf course. That's probably been the biggest challenge for me this year.”

Pippa Mann is best known for being an IndyCar driver. She is also an advocate for other female IndyCar drivers. Mann shared a set of biking photos on Instagram on March 31. In them, she rode to pick up ice cream. Mann captioned the post, “Beautiful weather today in Indy. Took myself on a little Easter Sunday bike ride for some ice cream!” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Pippa Mann stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Car Races

Pippa.Mann.3Pippa Mann/Instagram

Racing is the main way Mann stays in shape. She talked about driving to TopGear.com. “The simple physics and dynamics are: you are going incredibly fast between two concrete walls. One on the outside, one on the inside. If something goes wrong at those speeds… it's going to be ugly. When you're on the outside looking in, it looks more dangerous. When you are racing it, you are just a racing driver. It's just another race track, it's just another race car.”

2. She Supports Other Female Drivers

Pippa.Mann.1Pippa Mann/Instagram

Mann is known for supporting female drivers. She has a foundation, Shift Up Now, that serves that purpose. “It's about trying to foster this sense of community, these groups of women who are supporting each other while they're racing,” says Mann to TopGear.com. “A lot of the women we work with are pretty fed up of that feeling of being by themselves, and understand the idea that ‘if everybody's rising, that helps me too.’ With Shift Up Now, we're trying to create our own halo effect where we help the people who are most like us really get somewhere. It's kind of a statistics game. But you have to have more of those opportunities to start building.”

3. She’s Tough

Pippa.Mann.2Pippa Mann/Instagram

Mann talked about her career in an interview with Females In Motorsport. She says that she has a very thick skin. “For a female of any age coming into motorsport, you do have to understand that you are walking into what still is in general a boy’s playground,” she said. “You have to be able to ignore a certain level of noise and be prepared to work harder to get the same level of recognition. There will always be people trying to tear you down, but there will be people out there who want to help you succeed, and who want to help you get there, those are the people you want to pay attention to, and align with. But, for the rest of it, you’ll have to grow pretty thick skin.”

4. She’s Driven

Pippa.Mann.4Pippa Mann/Instagram

Mann has a strong desire to succeed. “The drive to succeed comes from my mother,” she told Females in Motorsport. “She’s a strong business woman, and I’ve definitely inherited her no-nonsense, get things done attitude and determination. Beyond that, it comes from deep inside me personally. I always want to do better, to run better, to put up a better result.”

5. She Bikes

Pippa.Mann.5Pippa Mann/Instagram

In her recent Instagram post, Mann is seen biking. A Healthier Michigan states that biking has a lot of benefits. “Cycling is considered a low-impact exercise because even though it’s a form of cardio and can help you work up a sweat pretty fast, it is done with easy movements that are gentle on your legs, arms and joints.”

Madeline Sturt, a seasoned CrossFit competitor known for her dynamic workouts and engaging social media presence, recently thrilled her followers with a workout video set to Cher’s hit "If I Could Turn Back Time." Known for her rigorous training routine, Sturt showcased her skills on gymnastic rings, demonstrating the high level of fitness and dedication required in her sport. In her Instagram post, she playfully challenged her audience’s taste in music, suggesting that anyone who didn’t find the song a 'banger' was simply lying to themselves. This blend of humor and hardcore fitness exemplifies Sturt’s approach to training—intense yet accessible, inviting her audience to both admire her athleticism and join her in a shared love for classic tunes and tough workouts.

1. She Jumps Rope

Sturt shared some of her favorite workouts in this Instagram post. She captioned it, “Saturday burner.” In the first video, Sturt is seen jumping rope. The Cleveland Clinic states, “Jumping rope can be a good form of cardio, which increases your heart rate and can help decrease your risk of cardiovascular disease…And when you increase your heart rate, you also burn more calories. So, how many calories does jumping rope burn? While it depends on your pace, on average, someone may burn about 100 calories jumping rope for 10 minutes.”

2. She Lifts Weights

Madeline Sturt.3Madeline Sturt/Instagram

In the previous Instagram post, Sturt is seen lifting a barbell. ACE Fitness states that lifting weights has a lot of benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

3. She Climbs

Madeline Sturt.2Madeline Sturt/Instagram

Sturt is seen climbing a wall in the previous Instagram post. Climbing of all kinds has a lot of benefits. All Climbers states, “Climbing is an endlessly variable series of movements. No climbing surface or route is quite like another, so the work you ask your muscles to perform during a climb changes each time you exercise. This ensures you’re training a greater number of muscles. Research suggests this kind of dynamic muscle activation is much more challenging than simple, repetitive movements.”

4. She Runs

Sturt shared this video on Instagram of herself running on a treadmill. FloTrack states that running has a lot of benefits. “Running releases endorphins, which then trigger a positive feeling in your body. The chemicals released after any exercise improve your mood and decrease anxiety and stress. You get a boost of energy and self-esteem and your sleep also improves. Running can set into motion a continuous cycle of improving different facets of your mental health.”

5. She Uses A Stationary Bike

In the first photo in this Instagram post, Sturt is seen on a stationary bike. Penn State PRO Wellness states that doing this has a lot of benefits. “A stationary bike workout is a low-impact workout that uses smooth movements to strengthen bones and joints without putting much pressure on them. This makes it a good workout option for people with joint issues or injuries.”

She captioned it, “Practice ✅ This @vivaseltzer @fordperformance car was feeling pretty good in practice. Made some good changes headed into qualifying in the morning! @monsterenergy.”

2. She Hikes

It is a joint-friendly form of exercise that can keep arthritis sufferers more limber and mobile.”

3. She Cooks

Since she’s a professional athlete, Deegan has to eat healthy. One way she does so is by cooking. Deegan shared this video on Instagram of herself doing a cooking demonstration. Harvard Health states that cooking has a lot of health benefits. “The more people cook at home, the healthier their diet, the fewer calories they consume, and the less likely they are to be obese or develop type 2 diabetes. A growing body of scientific evidence supports teaching patients how to cook meals at home as an effective medical intervention for improving diet quality, weight loss, and diabetes prevention.”

4. She Uses An Elliptical

Deegan makes sure to workout on a regular basis. One way she does so is by using the elliptical. She shared this video on Instagram of herself using one at her house. With the new @nordictrack elliptical with @ifit technology you can get the best of both worlds.”

5. She Snowboards

"Both skiing and snowboarding demand a high level of physical engagement, making them excellent full-body workouts. Skiing engages various muscle groups such as the core, quadriceps, hamstrings, and calf muscles, promoting strength, endurance, and flexibility. Snowboarding, with its emphasis on balance and coordination, activates the core, legs, and upper body muscles," says Physio Fitness.

Leonie Hanne is living her best life in Thailand – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the German model flaunts her fantastic figure in a $750 Missoni bathing suit while enjoying a boating day in the tropics. “She dreamed of a tropical adventure 🦋,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Stunning,” commented one of her followers. ”So beautiful,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Coffee

Leonie enjoys the perks of caffeine. In one of her posts from Thailand, she drinks a cup of coffee at the poolside. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Pilates

Leonie does Pilates at the super exclusive London studio Pilates in the Clouds. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress, and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

At-Home Workouts

Leonie tries to get a workout in daily, preferably in the morning. I still try to get up early to maintain a sense of routine. I start every day with a quick at-home workout and a homemade acai bowl, before starting work on emails and content creation. I’ve been getting really into TikTok lately, it’s funny and keeps me feeling energised!” she told Arcadia.

Community

It takes a village, according to Leonie. “Community is key! The people you surround yourself with are more important than ever, as we are all trying to find ways to stay connected without being physically present. Speaking to people either on the phone or through social media can shift your mindset and motivation more than ever before,” she says.

Small, Healthy Habits

Leonie focuses on maintaining small, healthy habits. “Do something every day that brings you joy. Even if that means having something small to look forward to, like having your favourite snacks around the house or changing into an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself,” she says.

How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

She Loves Bananas

Tammy Hebrew has a banana snack.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying bananas in her “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

She Loves Cottage Cheese

Tammy Hebrew's snack the contains banana and cottage cheese.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying her bananas with cottage cheese in the previous Instagram video. Cottage cheese is very healthy. UCLA Health reports, “Cottage cheese’s protein content and low calories make it an ideal food for weight management. Research shows that whether you are trying to lose weight or reduce your risk of overweight or obesity, eating a high-protein diet can help you feel full and satisfied for longer.”
