Savannah Guthrie is best known for being the co-anchor of NBC’s The Today Show, going fearlessly toe-to-toe with world figures like Donald Trump one minute and taste-testing Eat This, Not That! food trends the next. With a busy life and a grueling morning schedule (if you can even call a 3AM wake-up call “the morning”), she still manages to prioritize her health, wellness, and activity. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Savannah Guthrie stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Enjoys Carbs

"West Side Story" New York PremiereRoy Rochlin/Getty Images

She doesn’t avoid carbs like so many other celebs. "I'm not anti-carbs; I just try to do my carbs early in the day, so by the end of the day, I try to be carb-free," Guthrie said. "And then on Friday and Saturday nights, I eat and drink anything I want. I don't think you can do this job or parenthood without caffeine, a little wine and dessert."

2. She Goes To Bed Early

Vanity Fair, Amazon Studios And Audi Celebrate The 2020 Awards Season - ArrivalsMatt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images

She jokes that her bedtime is the same as her kids, but sleep is so important for your overall health. With such an early job, to get a sufficient amount of sleep, she really would have to go to bed early. "Reading helps me fall asleep," she said. "It has to be kind of boring, but also sufficiently captivating that you get into it. I read a lot of The New Yorker," she said.

3. She Plays Tennis

2019 Common Sense AwardsBen Gabbe/Getty Images

During TODAY's "Summer of Yes," Guthrie made a goal to start taking tennis lessons to improve on her game and get back to the court. Tennis is excellent for exercise and gets you outdoors. According to the Mayo Clinic, although there are still risks and you should perfect your swing with a professional to learn these skills properly, “tennis is one of the healthiest things you can do.” It has brain and heart health benefits.

4. She Tries New Classes

The Hollywood Reporter's 9th Annual Most Powerful People In Media - ArrivalsDominik Bindl/WireImage

Guthrie prioritizes trying new things at least a couple times a week. "I do a class in New York called Bari,” she said. ”It's a hybrid of old-school Jane Fonda-type aerobics — because, in the '90s, I was an aerobic instructor — cardio bouncing on a trampoline and strength training, and I do that about three times a week," she said.

5. She Starts Her Day At 3AM, So She Prepares For It

2019 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

The anchor starts her day at 3 AM and it is go time from there. Putting emphasis on clean eating, working out, and a good sleep schedule can help the busy mom prepare for her long day and keep her on track. "Create a room that's ideal for sleeping. Often, this means cool, dark and quiet. Exposure to light might make it more challenging to fall asleep. Avoid prolonged use of light-emitting screens just before bedtime. Consider using room-darkening shades, earplugs, a fan or other devices to create an environment that suits your needs," says the Mayo Clinic. "Doing calming activities before bedtime, such as taking a bath or using relaxation techniques, might promote better sleep."

Savannah Chrisley is snapping selfies – in her swimsuit. In one of her latest social media posts, the Chrisley Knows Best star shows off her beautiful body in an aqua-blue bathing suit. In the rare selfie, she smiles wide for the camera, enjoying a day in the sun. How does the reality star maintain her fit physique? Read on to see 5 ways Savannah Chrisley stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Stays On Top of Health Issues

Savannah started to gain weight in 2019 due to endometriosis. “I was on a medication and the highest dose possible for six months, and I gained about 30 pounds within the six months,” she told Life & Style in July 2020. She would “work out like crazy” and “try to eat right” but she simply couldn’t drop the weight. “I mean, it was hard,” she said. “There was nothing I could do to control it.”

2. She Follows a Low-Carb Diet

Concept,Of,South,Beach,Diet,Write,On,Sticky,Notes,WithShutterstock

Savannah is a South Beach diet devotee, telling Fox News that the low-carb diet taught her how to eat right. “It’s about progress, not perfection. South Beach Diet has given me control. It’s taught me moderation, portion sizes and that a keto-friendly lifestyle works. I am so proud of how far I’ve come since this time last year and I feel better than ever,” she said. What does she eat on the diet? "We make lasagna but with zucchini instead of noodles. We're taking some of her recipes and making them healthier. We did a kale salad, which is my go-to and everyone in the family loves it, except Todd. He’s a lost cause. But Grayson loves it. So it’s just fun coming up with recipes that are healthier, but the kids love too because I want to start teaching them that it is important to start living healthy younger,” she said. As for snacks? "I mean, chips and guac are my go-to, but I’ve learned to substitute the chips for cucumbers. It’s not the same but it works. And like I said it also follows along with the South Beach Diet because it doesn’t have carbs in it,” she dished to Us. “I still have cheat days, cheat weekends and cheat meals, but I jump back on to the South Beach diet.”

3. Her Weight Fluctuates

“My weight fluctuates and that’s just called being a woman and loving food,” Savannah told Fox News. “I believe that being healthy starts from the inside. Eating right helps my moods tremendously. If I’m feeding my body great food, then my moods and life will thrive. I want to be healthy for my family and my future children.”

4. She Lifts Weights and Boxes

Savannah exercises in order to build strength. “I lost about 20 pounds and then gained about 10 pounds back due to muscle because I’ve been lifting weights,” she told Fox News. Boxing is another one of her go-to workouts.

5. She Practices Self-Love

SavannahChrisleySavannah Chrisley/Instagram

Savannah emphasizes the importance of self-love. “For a long time, I compared myself to so many other people because I felt like I just didn’t measure up,” she told Fox News. “I wasn’t good enough. I kept hearing ‘you’re too big’ or ‘you’re too skinny.’ I have realized that if I am happy and I love me, then no one else’s opinion matters. Loving yourself is the key to being fit, in my opinion.”

Singer, actress, and fashion maven Jessica Simpson has been open about her struggles with her weight. In a 2010 interview with Oprah, Simpson talked about her struggles and how she came to love her body. ”Every day, we'll find something new out about ourselves that is authentic and is unique, but I really just finally relaxed. I don't care what people have to say about my weight. I really don't, because I think I look great," she said at the time. Read on to see five ways Jessica Simpson stays in shape, which she revealed to others over the years, and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bikini Photos!

1. She Uses Weight Watchers aka WW

Simpson was a longtime advocate of the Weight Watchers, or WW, program, even appearing in several of their commercials. Simpson first started using the program in 2012 after having her first child, and lost 60 pounds. “I saw the results really quickly,” she told USA Today.

2. She Works With A Personal Trainer

After having her third child in 2019, Simpson worked with celebrity trainer, Harley Pasternak, to shed the baby weight. Simpson revealed on Instagram that while working with Pasternak, she dropped 100 pounds, and weighed 240 pounds while she was pregnant. “6 months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240),” Simpson captioned the photo showing off her weight loss. Pasternak toldE! News that he worked with Simpson to make sustainable changes to her lifestyle. “It had to be more than just getting back from her baby weight, but how do I keep whatever I am doing now forever,” he said. “That’s why we are not a big fan of doing any extreme diet or radical forms of exercise.” Pasternak praised Simpson’s drive and commitment in the same interview. “We were kind of just getting in shape between kids and now it was sort of OK, I want to look fierce again and look great, confident and energized and I want to do it in a sustainable way,” he said. “That was her main goal.”

3. She Worked With A Dietician

Simpson also works with nutritionist Liz Josefsburg, on her diet and meal plans. Josefsburg told HollywoodLife.com about her and Simpson’s process on developing her diet. “She spent well over 6 months working off weight from her first and second pregnancies. She ate regular meals throughout the day. Usually three times and a snack. The key for Jessica was moderation and learning to indulge intelligently.”

4. She Gets At Least 10,000 Steps In A Day

Simpson makes sure to get her steps in everyday. Simpson’s trainer, Harley Pasternak, told E! News that one of the changes he and Simpson made involved increasing her daily steps to 14,000 a day. Simpson’s nutritionist, Liz Josefsburg, agreed. "Jessica loves to walk. She gets out almost every day to hit at least 10,000 steps. She loves it because she can do it anywhere, she can do it with her family and it helped her lose weight after every baby," she said to HollywoodLife.com.

5. She Stays Hydrated

Jessica Simpson Celebrates Her Memoir "Open Book" At Macy's Herald SquareKevin Mazur/Getty Images

Simpson tries to stay hydrated throughout the day, as recommended by her nutritionist, Liz Josefsburg. Josefsburg told HollywoodLife.com, “Hydration is a secret weapon for weight loss. In my book Target 100 I urge people to get in at least 100 ounces per day. Which might seem like a lot, but it is right for our bodies. Staying fully hydrated while losing weight is critical. Much of the overeating we do is mistaking thirst for hunger. If we can keep our bodies, which are made up of over 60% water, hydrated, they burn calories and metabolize food at an optimal rate!”

Kandi Burruss is flaunting her recent weight loss. After losing 30 pounds, 20 of which she gained during the pandemic, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star and former member of Xscape showed off her phenomenal figure in a gold, halter swimsuit while vacationing in the tropics. “Living my life like it’s golden!” she captioned the stunning images of herself. Read on to see 5 ways Kandi Burruss stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Works Out Early in the AM

In an Instagram Story posted in September 2020, Burruss revealed that she had gained 20 pounds during quarantine. “The beginning of COVID, I was working out and I was in shape. And even then, I wanted to lose 10 pounds, but I ended up getting lax and comfortable and I ended up gaining 20. So that means I have 30 pounds of which I really would like to lose. And I just want to better myself overall. I just want to get used to making working out a part of my regular routine,” she said. She started working out with her cousin Patrick. “He’s a trainer,” she revealed. “He got up and came to my house at 7 a.m. for us to work out. It’s gonna be our regular time. So, I hope that I can stick to this.”

2. She Cut Sugar and Bread From Her Diet

In March 2021, she revealed that her weight loss journey was successful. “I’ve lost 20 pounds since November,” she told Hollywood Life. “I want to lose 10 more pounds.” She also revealed that cutting out two things from her diet was the game changer: Sugar and bread. “I took out all sweets,” she said. “I stopped eating all sweets, bread.”

3. She Only Drank Water

Glass,Of,Water,On,A,Wooden,Table.,Water,Was,PouredShutterstock

Another way that Kandi achieved weight loss success, was eliminating all sugary beverages. “I only drank water, no juices, anything,” she added to Hollywood Life. "So how much fluid does the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate need? The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is," says the Mayo Clinic:

  • "About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men
  • About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women

These recommendations cover fluids from water, other beverages and food. About 20% of daily fluid intake usually comes from food and the rest from drinks."

4. She Took Appetite Suppressants

BMI Presents A Night With Lil Nas X Awards DinnerParas Griffin/Getty Images

Kandi also admitted to taking appetite suppressants, “so I didn’t feel hungry all of the time,” she told Hollywood Life. “I’m not even going to lie to you, I needed a little help, so it just helped me stay on course.” BE careful before taking any supplement for weight loss. "It's important to do your homework if you're thinking about trying a weight-loss supplement. Check credible websites, such as those run by the U.S. Office of Dietary Supplements and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health," says the Mayo Clinic. "Also be sure to talk with your doctor before taking any supplement. This is especially important if you have health problems, take prescription drugs, or are pregnant or breast-feeding."

5. She Fasts

Celebrities Visit BroadwayBruce Glikas/WireImage

Kandi is also a fan of fasting. “I always do this prayer fast during the first month of the year,” Kandi told Hollywood Life. “But I actually did it for 2 months. December, January.” There is another type of fasting called alternative day fasting. "Followers of alternate day fasting adhere to a schedule that switches back and forth between eating and fasting. Those who abide by this diet alternate between one feast day and one fast day, which typically includes a 500-calorie meal," says our sister site Eat This, Not That! "The trick is to make sure you are still eating healthy on days when you are not fasting," Heather Hanks, MS CAM, nutritionist and medical advisor at Medical Solutions BCN, told Eat This, Not That!. "If you overindulge in calories from refined sugars and carbs, you'll throw your insulin and hunger hormone levels off and wind up storing more glycogen than you're burning."

Dani Elle Speegle in Two-Piece Workout Gear is "Just a Girl and Her Barbell"

Discover how elite CrossFit athlete Dani Elle Speegle stays in peak condition with weightlifting, golfing, jumping rope, hiking, and cold plunges.

Dani Elle Speegle isn’t just strong—she’s unstoppable. The elite CrossFit athlete and social media sensation has built a massive following by sharing her intense training sessions and inspiring fitness moments. Recently, she posted a series of weightlifting photos on Instagram, proving once again why she’s a powerhouse in the gym.

“Just a girl and her barbell,” she captioned the post, letting her strength do the talking. From lifting heavy to outdoor adventures, here’s how Speegle stays in peak condition.

She Lifts Weights

In her Instagram post, Speegle is seen lifting weights. According to ACE Fitness, doing this has a lot of benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

She Golfs

Speegle likes to golf to keep herself in shape. She shared a video of herself on the course in this Instagram post. According to Randa aerobic exercise. “Golf can help strength and balance, improve quality of life and provide aerobic exercise. On a regular 18-hole course, most players will walk between four and five miles, burning up to 2,000 calories.”

She's Into Jumping Rope

Speegle shared this video on Instagram of herself competing in Crossfit events. In it, she is seen jumping rope. According to The Cleveland Clinic, jumping rope has a lot of benefits. “Benefits of jump rope can help improve your coordination, get your heart rate going and help burn calories — and it’s an easy, affordable way to get some cardio in.”

She Hikes

Speegle likes to hike to keep herself in shape. She shared this photo on Instagram of herself hiking the Koko Head Summit. Speegle captioned the post, “Woke up and chose pain today. Every 45 min X 3 rounds: Koko head 💀💀💀 Then sat in my car and stared into the abyss while munching on Banan 🥲🥲🥲”

She Does Cold Plunges

Speegle makes sure to recover. One thing she likes to do is cold plunges. Speegle shared this video of herself jumping into a tub. According to The Mayo Clinic, these have a lot of benefits. “Research on cold-water immersion has found evidence that it helps reduce the degree of exercise-induced muscle damage that can occur after physically challenging activities. Less damage leads to less inflammation, which in turn reduces soreness and helps restore physical performance the next day. These benefits may be the result of rapid constriction of the blood vessels due to the cold water. The cold can trigger responses in your body, such as decreased metabolic activity, alterations in hormone production and blood flow, and activation of the immune system.”

Golfer Tvesa Malik in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Awesome" Exercises

Discover how Tvesa Malik, SuperSport Ladies Championship winner, stays in peak shape with weightlifting, core work, and golf.

Golfer Tvesa Malik in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Awesome" Exercises
Tvesa Malik / Instagram

Tvesa Malik isn’t just a pro golfer—she’s a powerhouse athlete dedicated to staying in peak shape. The SuperSport Ladies Championship winner knows that strength and endurance are just as important as skill on the course. That’s why she takes her fitness seriously, incorporating weightlifting, core work, and mobility exercises into her training.

Last year, Malik gave fans a look at her workout routine in an Instagram video, where she powered through hanging crunches, lunges, and weightlifting sessions. She captioned the post, “Got some major work to do before my next session,” proving that even elite athletes are always striving to improve. Here’s a closer look at how Malik keeps her body strong and ready for competition.

She Lifts Weights

Malik is seen doing a lot of weight lifting in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness says that this has a lot of benefits. “Lifting heavy weights elevates levels of anabolic hormones—specifically testosterone, growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1)—which are used to repair muscle fibers damaged during exercise. This helps the muscle fibers to become thicker and capable of generating higher levels of force.”

She Does Lunges

Malik is seen shifting into lunges in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness says that lunges are a form of unilateral training, and that makes them effective. “Unilateral training is a more effective way to build functional strength (than using both legs) because these types of movement mimic other everyday motions, like walking and climbing stairs — and not just to the working leg. Research suggests the strength gains to the nonworking side are about half of the strength gains of the working side.”

She Does Core Workouts

Malik is seen doing core workouts, like hanging crunches in her Instagram video. Core workouts are extremely important. The Mayo Clinic says, “While it takes aerobic activity to burn fat in your stomach, core exercises can strengthen and tone the underlying muscles. Strong core muscles make it easier to do many activities. When your core muscles are strong, it's easier to swing a golf club, get a glass from the top shelf and bend down to tie your shoes.”

She Does Pull-Ups

An upper body workout that Malik likes to do is pull-ups. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing them at the gym. Malik captioned it, “Got some major work to do before my next session.” Asphalt Green says that pull-ups have a lot of benefits. “Pull-ups are a fantastic way to improve upper-body strength. This exercise primarily targets your back and biceps, but involves many stabilizing muscles in your core, arms, and shoulders. Depending on the way you grip the bar, you can even work your chest. Plus, you don’t need any fancy equipment to do a pull-up. Tree branches, scaffolding, and even door frames are all places people can do pull-ups.”

She Golfs

Golf is obviously one of the ways that Malik keeps herself in shape. Better Health says that the sport has a lot of benefits. “Golf can be good for your health and your heart. Walking an average course for a round of golf can be between five to seven kilometres. If you walk 18 holes three to five times a week, you’ll get an optimal amount of endurance exercise for your heart. If you pull your clubs or carry them, you’ll burn even more calories each round and benefit even more.”

Camila Guper is more than just a fitness influencer—she’s a motivation powerhouse. With 1.1 million Instagram followers, she inspires her audience with workout routines, wellness tips, and a disciplined approach to staying fit. Recently, she took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her latest gym session, including a stairclimber workout, a snapshot of her Apple Watch tracking her progress, and a post-workout mirror selfie in pink workout gear.

Her message? Consistency is key. “Don't underestimate the power of small, consistent actions! Every effort is worth it when you know where you want to go,” she captioned the post. From intense stair workouts to leg-sculpting exercises, here’s how Guper stays in top shape.

She Uses A Stairclimber

In her Instagram post, Guper is seen using the stairclimber. Stair workouts have a lot of health benefits. ACE Fitness says, “Improving metabolic health in terms of lower risks of heart problems and other complications, also by definition improves fitness. You can feel your heart working harder and the fire in your lungs when you ascend stairs. And that’s provoking important changes in your cardiorespiratory system that will make physical activities, like running and walking, feel easier.”

She’s Consistent

Guper makes sure to stay consistent with her workout routines. One way she does so is by staying disciplined. Guper talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “Good morning! May we always have the discipline to do what is good for us. Amen 💪🏽🙏🏽✨ 40 min stair + shoulder and chest workout today.”

She Does Lunges

Guper shared some of her favorite lower body workouts in this Instagram video. One thing she is seen doing is lunges. According to The Mayo Clinic, lunges have a lot of benefits. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles.”

She Does Leg Extensions

In the previous Instagram video, Guper is seen using the leg extension machine. Asphalt Green says that leg extensions have a lot of benefits. “These machines provide isolation exercises for your legs. This type of exercise works only one muscle or group of muscles, which means you can build up that part of your body quickly. If you want your thigh muscles to really stand out in those shorts you just bought, the leg extension machine is for you!”

She Spends Time Outside

Guper likes to spend time outside. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself enjoying a day by the pool with her dog. Guper captioned the post, “Good Morning! What book are you reading? 📖💚🐺🌮 I'm loving reading How to become super natural! I'm already sharing saying it's a must-read.”
