1. Hot Tub Soaks

Ana Maria recovers from her grueling training regime with a variety of self-care methods. One of them? Hot tub soaks. “My new happy place😍🇭🇷 ,” she captioned a post. If you don’t have access to a hot tub, just take a bath. They have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits.

2. Strength Training

Ana Maria maintains that her strengths are her explosiveness when running, always looking for the ball and not giving up, and also being able to move in space correctly. “My talent was born from training, dedication and perseverance, that is the key, of course I always feel that I can improve more. I train almost every day of the week,” she told Croatia Week about the importance of strength training. “We love gym,” she added in an Instagram post.

3. Jet Skiing

Ana Maria burns calories when she isn’t on the field. When on vacation you can find her jet skiing. According to Health Fitness Revolution, the average 150-pound rider will burn a surprising 238 calories during a half-hour ride. The sport is also great for cardiovascular endurance.

4. Hydration

Ana Maria understands the importance of hydration. Here she is getting her fluids and electrolytes. “Coconut 🥥😍,” she captioned the Instagram snap. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

5. Soccer

Ana Maria started playing soccer at the age of 14, “because of the motivation I felt when I saw that women’s football was growing more and more. Also because of the motivation generated by watching some men’s football matches, especially when Cristiano Ronaldo was playing, obviously,” she told Croatia Week. “I played in some little-known amateur clubs. At first it started as a form of a hobby, but then thanks to all the support I received from my family and my environment, I was improving. I was always a forward, it was what I liked the most – scoring goals.”
