Pro surfer and model Alana Blanchard always makes her health and wellness a priority in her life. On a TikTok, on a video of her on the beach goofing off, doing the flip TikTok trend, she said “hi im back! I was locked out of my tik tok for so long.” We’re glad she’s back, too, to inspire us and share how she stays so fit and strong.


1. She travels

Even now that they have kids, she still enjoys traveling. “Just because you have kids doesn’t mean you have to stop living your dreams. We have been traveling our whole life as professional surfer and having kids wasn’t going to stop us. Yes it’s harder and sometimes things don’t go your way. But the moments you do get are so much sweater. I will forever remember these moments,” she said on Instagram.

2. She surfs

As a professional surfer, she loves spending time on the water. When she goes surfing, she loves to be with her family, passing on her love of surfing to her kids. “I can’t stop smiling watching these clips💙 @tavaruaislandresort 📸 @hooklinensinkr,” she said on Instagram on a video of her and her family catching some waves.

3. She has mental strength

She takes care of her mental health, in addition to her physical health. On a video on Instagram of her having fun outdoors by the water, swimming and playing with her kids, she said “when the world feels crazy and chaotic, remember that you don’t have to. You deserve to take control of your mental and physical health.”

4. She’s passionate

She has found her passion in life that feeds her soul, keeping her physically fit and offering mental clarity out on the water. “This is not just a hobby; surfing is my sport—it’s my life, and it brings me joy,” she said on a video on Instagram of her riding the waves. According to Better Health, “surfing provides many health benefits including cardiovascular fitness from paddling, shoulder and back strength (these muscles will strengthen from the paddling), [and] leg and core strength [because] once you’re standing up on the board, strong legs and a strong core will keep you up.”

5. She’s active

She enjoys staying active and being in a good routine with her workouts. “Nothing beats a post-travel, outdoor beach workout to reconnect with my routine and get me out of my jet lag funk. This workout is my favorite way to help me transition back to everyday life while keeping my adventurous spirit alive,” she said on a video of her on Instagram doing squats, jogging, swimming, stretching, lunges, and jumping jacks.
