Ajla Tomljanović is getting her sweat on – in her workout gear. In a new social media post the tennis player shows off her championship body in a two-piece exercise set during a grueling outdoor workout. “Afternoon hangout, invites only,” she captioned the Instagram post, driving her followers wild. “Looking good,” commented one. “Guapa,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
1. Tennis
Tennis is Ajla’s go-to workout. Why should you consider the sport? ACE Fitness explains that it combines cardio and aerobic exercise."While tennis provides numerous health benefits—improved aerobic fitness and anaerobic endurance, muscular fitness (grip strength and endurance), flexibility, multiple skill parameters (balance, speed, agility and quickness), reactivity, and power—it also is psychologically demanding," they say.
2. Walking
Ajla also gets her steps in, with the help of her dog. “Squirrel watching and Midnights on repeat….How’s your Saturday going?” she captioned a post of herself with her beloved pooch. Walking your dog every day can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. According to a study published in JAMA Internal Medicine, walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
3. Riding Horses
Ajla is an equestrian. Horseback riding offers many health benefits according to the American Heart Association. Not only does it boost cardiovascular health, but builds core strength, burns calories, and lowers blood pressure. It is also great for your mental health as it helps relax you.
4. Hydration
Ajla understands the importance of hydration. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.
5. Running
In her latest video, Ajla runs on the track as part of her workout. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. “For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories,” they say.
