"The golf courses have finally opened up so I got to go out there - and you can play if you stay safe. I have some really cute new outfits from my new Polo Ralph Lauren collection, and it's just a good incentive - I finally get to go and show them off! It's a great way to get some exercise and just be outside."

Newton makes sure to eat healthy. She talked about this in an interview with Only Natural Diamonds. “A good meal makes me feel powerful. I felt really powerful on set, being able to run around for 10 hours a day and then go work out after hurting myself or pushing myself too hard. So I love that I’m strong. I don’t diet; I’m not trying to look a certain way. But I love that I was able to use my body for this part.”

When playing Cassie Lang, Newton does some of her own stunts. She talked about this to Only Natural Diamonds. “I had to run through this tunnel. They were like, ‘Okay, so there’s going to be some sparks that are going to go off.’ And then we did it and it was genuine explosions, walls exploding, fire bombs. I was running so fast. They were like, ‘If we had told you what was going to happen, I don’t think you would’ve done it.’ I wouldn’t have. It was exhilarating. It’s no different than carrying my golf bag for 18 holes. I have the stamina to do it. And, I got to wear a super suit — it was purple, my favorite color. It made me feel invincible.”

4. She Celebrates Herself

Newton revealed to Only Natural Diamonds that she believes in celebrating herself. “I woke up at 4:00 AM today. I don’t know why. And then I saw the poster was released and I was like, wow, my dream has come true. You need to feel that, because I don’t think people celebrate themselves. I certainly don’t. I’m always onto the next. So I took a little second to celebrate that moment.”

Newton tells Only Natural Diamonds that she has a lot of supportive Marvel co-stars. “From the very beginning, I came to set very quiet,” she revealed. “I didn’t want to get fired. I didn’t want to be noticed because I was so excited to be there. I just didn’t want to mess up. I wanted everyone to be proud. And then all it took was Peyton Reed to say he believed in me and because he believed in me, I believed that I was Cassie. He showed me where to go and I just trusted him. Then Paul Rudd gave me the space to play and to take risks and laugh. It really took the pressure off and then I just didn’t hold back. I didn’t want to let this moment slip. There’s never going to be another first time to be Cassie. I keep telling Paul, ‘You guys have ruined my life. Nothing’s going to be better.’”

1. She Golfs

Golf is the main way Hull keeps herself in shape. The sport has a lot of health benefits. Better Health states, “Golf can be good for your health and your heart. Walking an average course for a round of golf can be between five to seven kilometres. If you walk 18 holes three to five times a week, you’ll get an optimal amount of endurance exercise for your heart. If you pull your clubs or carry them, you’ll burn even more calories each round and benefit even more.”

She says that she always makes sure to be prepared. “If you put the effort in and prepare as well as you can, that should help build your confidence,” Hull explained. “I think it’s great going into something knowing that you’ve prepared at least as well or maybe even better than anyone else.”

No matter how busy Hull gets, she makes sure to take care of herself. She shared her favorite self-care practices with Marie Claire UK. “I’m very into my skincare and love having facials whenever I’m home. As a golfer, we are out in the sun/ wind/ rain for up to 8 hours each day so I do my best to protect it from the elements and keep it hydrated. I also have regular massages to stay relaxed.”

Hull shared some of her favorite workouts in her Marie Claire UK interview. She says that sprints are a favorite of hers. “Working out is really important to me, both physically and mentally. Obviously I need to be strong for golf, but I enjoy the challenge of a good workout and love doing sprints etc. My trainer (@precisiongolfkate) is a top Hyrox athlete so she’s great at challenging me and keeping it fresh. It’s good for my mind and I think the routine that comes with being a professional athlete helps me. I also remind myself how lucky I am to be travelling the world, doing something I love for a job!”

She starts off with eight compound exercises, each of them working two muscle groups simultaneously. Examples include doing bicep curl as she squats, or situps with combination punches. Then, she might do a 90 to 120 seconds of a cardio interval, like rowing or the VersaClimber, then repeat the entire circuit with heavier weights, added bands, or faster reps. Finally, following the 45 minute circuit workout, she’ll finish with a cardio interval using a rubber Inertia Wave, or one-leg pushes on a curved SkillMill treadmill. After her workout, she will stretch.

On the putting green I do a drill because your eye-line and eyesight change every single day. You may see the ball and your line differently every single day, so doing a line drill is really important as you start your putting. Try it for five minutes to make sure you dial in your alignment. Once you do that, then you work on your distance.”

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.
