Megan Clark is a former pole vaulter who embodies strength, both mentally and physically, in her approach to life and fitness. Whether it’s exploring the outdoors, staying active, or cherishing time with loved ones, Megan makes the most of every moment. Reflecting on a recent trip, she shared on Instagram, “Whirlwind Hawaiian weekend recap,” highlighting her adventurous spirit. Here’s a look at how she stays fit, focused, and fulfilled.
1. She travels
She enjoys traveling and exploring new destinations. “Watched the sun rise over Makapu’u Lighthouse, spent time with family and friends, and caught a Hawaiian monk seal taking a nap,” she said on Instagram on a series of photos.
2. She loves animals
Being around her dog brings her so much love and joy. On a video on Instagram of her puppy, she said “a year ago today, we brought home a crazy little pup and it’s been an adventure everyday since #1yearofKoda #pup #shenanigans #blacklab #adventure #puppy.” According to News in Health, “interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure. Other studies have found that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood.”
3. She runs
She runs to stay fit, adding some cardio into her routine. “This morning we all finished our first half marathon 🙌🏾 We went into it with the goal of having fun, finishing the race healthy, and strengthening our friendships. 10/10 success,” she said on Instagram on a slideshow of photos of her and her friends.
4. She works hard
She knows the value of hard work and dedication. “Athletics began to shape me long before I stepped foot on a runway. From the beginning, sport taught me to value the work. It teaches us teamwork, the beauty of progress, and that we are capable of WAY more than being looked at. We’re powerful, and athletics are a great way to remind us of that. Happy #NationalGirlsAndWomenInSportsDay,” she said on Instagram.
5. She hikes
She spends time hiking out in nature and being present. “Fall break in Colorado was a success. Spent time with mom, caught up with friends, drank a little moonshine, saw wild elk, buffalo, big horn sheep, antelope, Garden of the Gods, Rocky Mountain National Park, saw the Aspens, [and] slept,” she said on Instagram on a slideshow of photos and videos from Colorado.
