Professional volleyball player Sabina Altynbekova may be best known for her skills on the court, but she’s equally at home embracing an adventurous lifestyle beyond volleyball. In October, Altynbekova shared a spirited Instagram post capturing highlights from a horseback riding trip with friends, captioned, “Qazaq vibes only,” as she bonded with a “crazy” but charming horse. Her active lifestyle includes everything from horseback riding and tennis to gym sessions where she powers through push-ups and squats. Altynbekova’s fitness routine highlights her dedication to maintaining a balanced and strong physique, while her love for diverse activities shows that staying fit can be as fun and varied as life itself.

1. She Rides Horses

In her Instagram post, Altynbekova is seen horseback riding. According to The American Heart Association, riding has a lot of benefits. “Horseback riding has been shown to be good aerobic exercise. Maintaining good posture in the saddle ignites your core muscles. Riding requires strength – so does saddling a horse, and carrying buckets of hay and water.”

2. She Plays Tennis

Altynbekova shared these highlights from a vacation on Instagram she's seen playing tennis. The Columbia Association states that tennis has a lot of benefits. “Because tennis includes short bursts of activity, it offers the same conditioning benefits of interval training, which has an unparalleled positive effect on the heart and lungs, slashing your risk of heart disease by 56% (!). Just an hour of play burns between 400 to 600 calories.”

3. She Plays Golf

Sabina Altynbekova.4Sabina Altynbekova/Instagram

In the previous Instagram post, she is seen playing golf on a course and virtually. Golf is very beneficial. Better Health states, “Golf can be good for your health and your heart. Walking an average course for a round of golf can be between five to seven kilometres. If you walk 18 holes three to five times a week, you’ll get an optimal amount of endurance exercise for your heart. If you pull your clubs or carry them, you’ll burn even more calories each round and benefit even more.”

4. She Does Push-Ups

Altynbekova shared this video on Instagram of herself in the gym. One exercise she is seen doing is push-ups. Altynbekova captioned the post, “Work while they sleep. Learn while they party. Save while they spend. Live like they dream 🦾” NASM states that push-ups have a lot of health benefits. “Typically thought of as an upper-body only move, depending on the variation, push-ups can be extremely effective at challenging the core and lower body muscles too—virtually the entire kinetic chain (science term for, ‘from your toes to your head’).”

5. She Does Squats

Sabina Altynbekova.5Sabina Altynbekova/Instagram

In the previous Instagram video, Altynbekova is seen doing squats with a landmine weight. Squats have a lot of health benefits. Allina Health says, “The squat is one of the all-around best exercises to do for your lower body. It strengthens and tones muscles in your thighs, butt and calves and improves posture, balance, flexibility and inner core strength. Squatting also improves bone mineral density to keep your bones strong. Include squats in your exercise routine two to three days a week to reap the benefits from this dynamite move. Rest at least one day to allow muscle recovery.”

Victoria Azarenka is hitting tennis balls – in her workout gear. In a new social media post the professional athlete shows off her impressive physique in an exercise set while on the court. “Here I am,” she writes across the Instagram video. “If you’re not having at least a little bit of fun, you’re not doing it right,” she added in the caption. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Smoothies

Victoria likes to drink her nutrients. “A smoothie with raspberry, banana, mint, almond milk and almond butter. And a bit of granola on top,” is one of her favorite fuel-up treats. “It's gluten-free and vegan. It's healthy and has all-natural nutrients to start the day. It gives me lots of energy and is naturally sweet!” she told ESPN.

Power Exercises

Victoria focuses on developing fast-twitch muscles. “I do power exercises like medicine ball throws and I recently, like a year ago, started doing olympic weightlifting because it's the most complex movement with the most explosiveness and power in it to help you extend faster and get to the first step faster,” she says.

Stretching

“For me it was a lot of educating myself to just understand, first of all, how the body works so I knew what to do. I'm constantly reading and learning injury prevention. Basically, injury prevention is discipline,” she told Elite Daily. Stretching has been key. “It was also a lot about mindset, 'cause I hate doing it -- like, I absolutely hate stretching. But once I started to understand it a little bit more, it became fun for me,” she says.

Cold Plunge

An aesthetically pleasing ice plunge bath.

She also recovers with cold plunges. “Ice baths are another alternative, they are most common because cryotherapy is not everywhere. We have it at the tournaments, so after the matches it's very efficient, especially somewhere really hot,” she says.

She Tried A Vegan Diet

Victoria is not a fan of the vegan lifestyle. “I wanted to be vegan because I love animals, but it was the worst thing I could've done for my body and my body wasn't recovering. So I had to learn it the hard way... but that was fine. Every body is unique. You can't really find out [about your body] without experimenting and learning,” she said.

Training

To avoid injury Azarenka has a long training period and increases focus on her physical conditioning. “I will have, this time, an extended preseason. I want to get at least eight good weeks of training before I go to do my season, but usually it's about five to six weeks. And you start mainly with general physical training for two weeks, just really hard work getting your base endurance, etc., and then it goes more into tennis,” she told Elite Daily.

Daria Kasatkina is vacationing in the Maldives – in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the tennis star shows off her amazing body in an exercise set (and swimsuit!) while taking a much-needed break from tennis in the tropics. “Season 2024 is over, and it’s been great🙏🏽 Now living life in paradise🏝️ Loving this place,” she captioned the Instagram photos. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Tennis

Tennis is Daria’s main form of fitness. “The only thing I love about tennis is tennis itself. It's the game of tennis I like so much to play. You know, to hear the sound of the ball coming from the racquet, so like the sound of the ball touching the ground and you know this beautiful feeling of hitting the ball,” she told We Are Tennis.

Coffee

Daria is a coffee drinker. Here she is holding a cup while on vacation. According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Ice Skating

When she’s not on the court, you can find Daria ice skating. “Making sure she knows how to skate⛸️👻 @natalia_zabiiako 💜 #love,” she captioned a post from the rink. According to Harvard Medical School, ice skating will burn up to 200 calories per hour. It is also great for joint and muscle health and helps improve balance and coordination.

Stretching

Daria understands the importance of stretching before and after playing tennis or exercising. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Strength Training

Daria lifts weights to keep her body ready for the court. Here she is during a strength training session. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Sarah Pavan is a former beach volleyball player and fitness teacher. She recently announced her retirement from the sport. Pavan thanked her fans for all their supportive messages and announced her career goals in an Instagram post caption. “Thank you to everyone who took time to reach out following my retirement announcement. I am overwhelmed (in the best way, of course) at all of the memories, stories, and words of encouragement and support that were shared. It means so much to me 🥹❤️Many of you were asking, ‘What’s next?’ Volleyball has given me so much and continues to bring joy to my life, so I definitely plan to stay connected to the sport. I will continue to manage my consultancy, Next LVL Consulting, which supports young volleyball athletes looking to play in university. I will also maintain my online channels that I started during the pandemic, as those communities mean so much to me. I am hoping to pursue a career in sports media and broadcasting in order to share my knowledge and insights about the game as a host or analyst. I have taken the first steps in doing that with my new podcast, @volleytalk_podcast so be sure to check it out! You will definitely continue to see me around the volleyball world, just in a different way than we are used to 😊”

1. She Enjoys Working Out

One of Pavan’s fitness secrets? She actually enjoys hitting the gym for a sweat session. She opened up about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “Sweat is my medicine, whether my struggle is physical, mental, or emotional. No matter what I’m going through, a good workout is always one of my first steps to move through it and feel more like myself.”

2. She Lifts Weights

Sarah Pavan.2Sarah Pavan/Instagram

In the previous Instagram post, Pavan is seen lifting a barbell. Using weights in exercise has a lot of benefits. ACE Fitness states, “Lifting heavy weights elevates levels of anabolic hormones—specifically testosterone, growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1)—which are used to repair muscle fibers damaged during exercise. This helps the muscle fibers to become thicker and capable of generating higher levels of force.”

3. She Hikes

Pavan enjoys going for hikes to keep herself in shape. She shared these photos on Instagram of herself hiking the Gros Piton Point. Pavan captioned the post, “Gros Piton hike. 2,000 feet of elevation in 2 km 🥵💪🏻If Oprah says something is a must-do, you have to listen! We are so glad we did… it was well worth it!”

4. She Plays Pickleball

Another sport that Pavan enjoys playing is pickleball. She shared this photo of herself on the court on her Instagram. Pavan captioned the post, “A little time off the sand means active recovery, including pickleball and @kttape Recovery+ Recovery Patches! Pickleball makes my soul happy (I love cross-training with different sports) and my recovery patches keep my aches and pains happy! It’s a win-win 😉”

5. She Loves Yoga

Pavan likes to practice yoga to keep herself in shape. She shared this photo on Instagram of herself doing a pose on the beach. Harvard Health states that yoga has a lot of health benefits. “Several small studies have found yoga to have a positive effect on cardiovascular risk factors: it helped lower blood pressure in people who have hypertension. It's likely that the yoga restores ‘baroreceptor sensitivity.’ This helps the body senses imbalances in blood pressure and maintain balance.”

Two-time Grand Slam champion Aryna Sabalenka is having a lot of fun training with team members in a recent social media post. Sabalenka, 26, shared a video of herself wearing blue shorts and a pink sports bra, goofing around with her teammates while lip syncing to audio. “The tiger clique 🫡,” she captioned the fun post. “Best team🔥🙌❤️,” a fan commented. Sabalenka’s career is only going from strength to strength—here’s how she stays fit and focused.

1. Tennis Dreams

Sabalenka always knew she wanted to be the best. “I really only started thinking I might become a professional when I was 15 or 16, when I started playing small tournaments,” she told Vogue. “But when I was a kid, I just really liked to compete—I liked to be the best in the practice. I don’t know—I guess it’s just the way I was made.”

2. Partnership With OAKBERRY

Sabalenka recently partnered with OAKBERRY to create her own açaí bowl. "It's the perfect partnership for me,” she told Sports Illustrated. “I've always taken care of how I feed my body, and I'm crazy about sweets. For me, this is a healthy snack, and it's like a whole meal because you can put everything you need in that bowl. It's really cool and a perfect fit because it's healthy and gives you a lot of energy. It's important for me to have a partnership where I can come up with my own signature stuff. This bowl is full of stuff I really like, and the design is beautiful, and the name is awesome. It's something I'm really excited."

3. Shoulder Recovery

Sabalenka is well on her way to recovery after injuring her shoulder. "Finally, I'm really happy to say that this injury is behind already and is in the past,” she told Sports Illustrated. “I would definitely say that the first two tournaments after the injury, I was kind of struggling with the fear of getting injured again. But I don't know; something just clicked in Cincinnati, and I'm really happy about that. I kind of just let it go. Now, I feel protected and safe with the shoulder. I'm super happy that it's in the past. But now it's part of my routine to keep doing all the rehab exercises to make sure my shoulder is strong."

4. Building a Brand

Sabalenka is learning how to build for success off the court as well as on. “It’s about building a brand, making smart decisions and planning for the future,” she told Forbes. “As I gained more experience and started seeing the bigger picture, I knew I needed to be involved in decisions that would impact my long-term success, both on and off the court.”

5. Team Spirit

Sabalenka is grateful to her team for the constant support and guidance. “I would call them my family,” she told The New York Times. “They’ve been there for me no matter what. I had so many tough life situations, and they were there for me, supporting me and doing everything for me. I’m trying to pay them back the same way. I’m always there for them. Whatever they need, I’m happy to help them.”

Here’s how Sanon keeps herself in top shape with a variety of exercises that work both body and mind.

She Does TRX

Sanon does a lot of things to keep herself in shape. She is seen using TRX cables in her Instagram video. NIFS states that these exercises have a lot of benefits. “If you have ever taken a class or done some of even the most basic exercises, you quickly see that core activation is one of the most important aspects. The workouts are simple yet very challenging, and you can easily complete a total-body workout only using one piece of equipment in 20 minutes.”

Strength Training

Sanon is seen doing a lot of strength training exercises in her Instagram video. Strength training has a lot of health benefits. The Mayo Clinic states, “By stressing your bones, strength training can increase bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Strength training can help you manage or lose weight, and it can increase your metabolism to help you burn more calories.”

She Does Hip Thrusts

Sanon is seen doing hip thrusts with a shoulder press in her Instagram video. Hip thrusts have a lot of benefits. Gymless says, “Hip thrusts are a controlled and powerful movement, mainly focusing on the glutes, hamstrings, lower back, and core. This exercise is vital for developing a stronger posterior chain, contributing to improved athletic performance, alleviating lower back pain, and enhancing overall physique. Considering that about 65 million Americans experience some form of back pain, hip thrusts are a great exercise to include in your routine.”

She Does Russian Twists

Another exercise that Sanon is seen doing in her Instagram video is Russian twists with a weight. Gymless says that this exercise is very beneficial. “Russian Twists are a great exercise that develops all parts of your core, especially the obliques, it also targets the shoulders and hips. This exercise involves rotating your torso from side-to-side while maintaining a sit up position with your feet off the ground. This rotational movement often occurs in sports, which makes it a popular exercise amongst athletes. It is speculated that this was developed during the Cold War by the former Soviet Union as a training exercise for the Russian Soldiers.”

She Uses A Stationary Bike

Sanon also shared this workout video on Instagram. In it, she is seen using a stationary bike. Penn State PRO Wellness reports that stationary bike workouts have a lot of health benefits. “Riding a stationary bike can help build strength in your legs and lower body, especially if you use a higher resistance. The pedaling action can help strengthen your calves, hamstrings, and quadriceps. Additionally, it can work the muscles in your core, back, and glutes.”

From skincare rituals to core-sculpting workouts, De Bortoli’s daily habits make it clear that staying in shape is about more than just hitting the gym. Whether she’s cooking up homemade meals, breaking a sweat, or showing off a fresh new look, she’s all about feeling her best from the inside out. She Takes Care Of Her Skin

De Bortoli has impressive skin. Naturally, she takes care of it on a regular basis. De Bortoli shared this video on Instagram sharing her skincare routine. She captioned it, “The secret to perfect skin? Here is my step by step routine! ✨💦🎀 What product can you absolutely not live without?”

She Changed Her Hair Color

Alice De Bortoli dyed her hair

De Bortoli recently changed her hair color. She explained why in the caption of this Instagram post. “The good thing about this color is that it does not require frequent touch-ups and it easily adapts to natural hair growth, it is versatile and can enhance any body and face shape 🧡for those who are tired of blonde or brown, bronde is the solution to change harmony without distortion 🤍for those who have a fair complexion, the most golden tone is recommended 🤎 for the dark complexion, on the other hand, more ash brown ❤️ 🔥what can I say... For me the bronde conquered, and what do you think?”

She Cooks

Alice De Bortoli is seen cooking

De Bortoli likes to cook, and she was taught to do so by her grandmother. She shared this video on Instagram of herself and her grandmother cooking together. De Bortoli captioned it, “Grandparents are wealth in society, my grandmother loves to cook and do it with her since I was a child. She has always inspired my creativity, patience, discipline and order but above all traditions, history, and the concreteness of nature's gifts. The greatest teaching my grandparents passed on to me is respect for people, the environment, animals and the kitchen... Today together we made Carnival Frittelle, an easy, quick dessert that adults and kids love. The ingredients are few and simple (but of high quality) and, trust me, the result is guaranteed: nice round but above all soft and tasty.”

She Works Her Abs

De Bortoli shared this video of herself working out on Instagram. In it, she is seen doing core exercises like sit-ups. Core exercises are extremely important. The Mayo Clinic says, “Strong core muscles make it easier to do many activities. When your core muscles are strong, it's easier to swing a golf club, get a glass from the top shelf and bend down to tie your shoes. Strong core muscles help athletes, such as runners. That's because weak core muscles can lead to more fatigue, less endurance and injuries.”

She Works Out With Others

In the previous Instagram video, De Bortoli is seen working out with a friend. Better Health says that this has a lot of benefits. “You’re less likely to get bored when you have a workout buddy, especially a friend. While you’re catching up, having a laugh, encouraging each other, you’re also getting healthier. It’s a win-win. Chatting to a friend during exercise and breaks can help time pass quickly too. You’ll have more options as well, such as a game of tennis or squash.”

Kristin Cavallari is a reality TV and fashion icon. Since she debuted on Laguna Beach, people have clamoured for her fashion and beauty secrets. Cavallari recently shared her eye makeup secrets on Instagram, after several people asked for them. She captioned the post, “This is for the girlies in my DMs asking about this eye every time I do it. Sorry the lighting is awful. I also don’t know why the audio isn’t in sync for half of it 🫣 but here ya go 💗”

She's Less Strict With Her Diet

Kristin shares a Zucchini Almond Butter Blondies recipe

Kristin Cavallari/Instagram

Cavallari has written several cookbooks, and they have changed as her diet has changed. While promoting her book, Truly Simple with EatingWell, she revealed that her diet is less strict. “I've gotten to a point in my life where not everything has to be so perfect anymore,” Cavallari said. “I used to be so strict about what I was putting in my body. I'm still very healthy and very conscious of it, but I've gotten a little bit more lax. True Roots and True Comfort had nothing ‘white’ in them: no white flour, no white sugar, no white salt. But in Truly Simple, I bend a little bit in a few of the recipes, which really reflects where I am in my life and my new way of eating. Everything is a little bit more relaxed around here now.’

She Loves Cauliflower

Cavallari tells EatingWell that she loves making foods with cauliflower. “I love cauliflower because I think it's very versatile, and there's actually a Sweet Harissa Cauliflower recipe in Truly Simple that's my absolute favorite cauliflower recipe on the planet. If you've ever been to True Food Kitchen, their cauliflower was the inspiration behind it. There's this sweet harissa dressing that's on it, and there's little chopped-up dates in it, so it has that nice balance between sweet and savory. It's the absolute best.”

She Loves Salad

Krisitn Cavallari/Instagram

Cavallari likes to make salads. She shared one of her favorite recipes with EatingWell. “This salad has a few of my favorite things: salmon (which has omega-3s and is so, so good for you), bacon (no explanation needed), avocado (healthy fats), and spicy tomatillo ranch dressing (just yum). Together, they create culinary heaven. If you aren't familiar with tomatillos, they're similar to tomatoes but are slightly less sweet and are perfect when drenched in ranch.”

She Works With A Trainer

Cavallari tells Us Weekly that a lot of her gym sessions are with her personal trainer. “He kicks my ass,” she says. “He pushes me really hard. He has me actually lifting really heavy weight, the heaviest weight I’ve ever lifted in my entire life. I feel the best I ever have. I feel like I’m the strongest I’ve ever been.”

Cavallari shared some of her wellness secrets in an interview with Us Weekly.
