Trish Stratus is a WWE legend and is considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. She recently shared a tribute on Instagram to celebrate Vince Carter’s upcoming jersey retirement. Stratus captioned the post, “It’s over. Number 15 will be retired 02.11.24. Congrats @mrvincecarter15. Forever @raptors. 15 Forever 💜” Here’s how Stratus keeps herself in shape and maintains a healthy lifestyle.

1. She Does Yoga

Stratus revealed to Real Style Network that she likes to practice yoga to stay in shape. “I have a 20 minute yoga routine which is derived from a style of yoga I designed (Stratusphere Yoga), which has callisthenics and strength moves incorporated into a yoga flow, so you get the best of both worlds. I do this every day – I like it as a way to set my intention with my meditation and also if I don’t get a run or outside training session in, I’m still covered.”

2. She Eats Healthy

Stratus makes sure to eat healthy, and broke down her diet to Real Style Network. “We eat mostly organic, unprocessed foods and we don’t have dairy on the regular (as in we don’t drink cow’s milk, but we are okay to an ice cream cone once in a while!). Breakfasts are usually any of the following: eggs, sprouted break, nut butters, oatmeal, and non-dairy yogurt. Lunches and dinners include lean proteins like chicken, grass-fed beef and fish – we usually eat fish 2-3 times a week, quinoa is the favourite grain around here and lots of veggies. Some of my staples for snacks are vegan protein powder, hemp seeds, all nuts and fruit and we use coconut oil, grass-fed butter, and avocado oil to cook our food. Pretty simple, and clean and that allows us to have a cheat here and there with NO guilt! We look forward to our pizza nights and burger nights out.”

3. She Doesn’t Obsess Over Fitness

Stratus shared her wellness secrets and approach to fitness with York Region. “I don’t obsess over it like I used to,” she says. “Now it’s about keeping up my fitness to give me energy to keep after these kiddies and to set an example. We try as a family to integrate fitness into our daily routine, doing things like taking walks, riding our bikes or having the kids do yoga with me.”

4. She Makes Fitness A Priority

Stratus tells York Region that while she doesn’t obsess over fitness, she does make it a priority in her life. “The domino effect is strong,” Stratus explained. “You put in the time, and soon you become more energized, you look better and you start feeling better about yourself. Endorphins and serotonin are powerful hormones. Everyone could use more feel-good hormones in their life.”

5. She Makes Time For Herself

Stratus tells York Region that she makes sure to make time for herself. “I thought I was balancing it all by running my business and raising my kids, but this comeback has shown me that doing something for myself, like disconnecting and returning to longer yoga sessions, getting in my full-out, sweaty training sessions, is something for me,” she said. “I realized I was using the ‘too busy as a mom’ excuse and cutting off my workout sessions, which are essentially my me time. I thought I would end up burnt out from doing more, but it actually energized me and made me a better person in the morning. That let me be a better mama.”

WWE Hall of Famer Stacy Keibler embraces a holistic approach to health, focusing on both mental and physical well-being. Recently, she shared an Instagram video of her workout routine, captioned, “It’s not just about staying fit—it’s about unlocking your inner strength and living your best life. ✨💪.” The video emphasizes the importance of daily movement, with the text reading, “Never underestimate the power of moving your body every day.” From dopamine-boosting activities to clean eating and self-care, Stacy prioritizes a balanced and intentional lifestyle. Here’s how she stays on top of her health and wellness.

She focuses on dopamine

She looks for ways to get that hit of dopamine. “Taking in some sunshine when I can tops my list, tell me yours! I’m always on the lookout for good things to add to mine 💖☺️ #dopaminemenu,” she said on Instagram. Other ways to get that rush on her list include making the bed, meditating, calling friends, working out, lemon water, and taking supplements. According to the Cleveland Clinic, “dopamine is a neurotransmitter made in your brain. It plays a role as a “reward center” and in many body functions, including memory, movement, motivation, mood, attention and more.”

She swaps artificial dyes

In an effort to avoid refined sugars and harmful dyes, she finds ways to incorporate sweet treats into the holidays. “This year we’re swapping the artificial dyes and refined sugars for fun, healthier alternatives. This “candy” apple bar is made with sliced apples dipped in chocolate and caramel sauces that are free of harmful dyes, emulsifiers, and preservatives. Just chop up a variety of your favorite nuts and let the kids go to town. My kids definitely enjoyed it! 😂🧡,” she said on Instagram.

She’s grateful

She’s thankful for her beautiful life. “Another trip around the sun, and my heart overflows with gratitude. 🌙✨ There’s a quiet beauty in the passing time—a sense of gaining deeper wisdom, greater strength, and a clarity about what truly matters that brings everything into focus. I’m thankful for this life, my family, my friends and the simple things like feeling the earth beneath me and the sand between my toes. 🌊💛 Right here, right now, there is no place I’d rather be,” she said on Instagram.

She has blue spirulina

She incorporates blue spirulina into her diet. “Just stopping by to add a pop of color into your life with blue spirulina! 💙 Not only does it brighten up your day, but it also boosts nitric oxide, relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. And it’s anti-inflammatory powers can even help with allergies! 🌿,” she said on Instagram.

She does self care

She prioritizes self care and detox when it comes to her health and wellness routine. “Even when we prioritize healthy living, we can still encounter toxins in our everyday environment—whether it’s from air pollution, food, water, household products, or personal care items. While minimizing exposure is essential, it’s nearly impossible to avoid them entirely. That’s why incorporating detox practices into my wellness routine has been such a game-changer! I can truly feel the difference. It’s all about elevating my health from the inside out. ✨,” she said on Instagram.

In an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, Natalya Neidhart opened up about what she eats before a match. “I went to the Sky Lounge in the LaGuardia airport and had a little bit of Greek yogurt and a cappuccino with skim milk. I always like to have a little bit of coffee in the morning — it’s more of a ritual for me than the taste. I like to sit and have 15 minutes to myself to just drink my coffee and reflect and think about what my day is going to be like. They served a breakfast burrito on the plane. To be brutally honest, I don’t really love airplane food, but no matter what, you can make something out of nothing. I had a couple of bites, that that way I could feel like I was getting a little bit without all the calories. Then I just had water on the plane. Whenever I travel I try to hydrate as much as possible. I hate that dehydrated feeling, it makes me super tired. They also served some fresh fruit so I had a little bit of that. That way when I landed I didn’t feel too bloated or heavy.”

4. Carmella

Carmella, also known as Leah Van Dale, shared her workout routine with Women Fitness. “I always warm up on the bike or treadmill for about 20-30 minutes before I lift. Stretching is something I really need to get back into my daily routine. With my schedule, it’s so hard to fit everything in. I usually only have time to train OR stretch, but I really need to start making time for both. I notice such a difference in my body when I take the time to stretch properly.”

When I’m home, in a typical day, I wake up, go to the dental office and I’m there sometimes until 7pm, come home, eat really quick, say hello to my boyfriend (who just happens to be fellow AEW superstar; Adam Cole then I go to the gym.”

6. Becky Lynch

Back when I was younger in Australia, I wanted to be a wrestler and loved what I did with WWE. It’s completely different now. It’s not five minutes on TV where I’m asked to do such and such. It’s having competitive singles matches every night. There are different opponents every night. I’m meeting new people and improving my own skills every time by working with different people in the ring. It got me going again.”

I’m not against the losing weight part. But, I’m against calling people out for it. And I’m against people who call themselves fans thinking it is okay to criticize a woman’s body because it is more than doing squats. I do squats every day. It is a mental game as well. It is so much more than just working out. You know what I mean?”

14. Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair opened up about how she approaches her wrestling career in an interview with Muscle and Fitness. “It’s about being kind to yourself,” says Flair. “How you talk to yourself really matters. I never believed that I could be on TV, or be a performer, or any of those things … Why did I tell myself that for so many years? And now, here I am, the most decorated women’s champion of all-time. Why do we tell ourselves that we can’t do something? It’s because we are scared of it. So, do what you are scared of. That biggest fear that you have…do that!”

17. Toni Storm

All of those things started to weigh heavy on me but now I don’t drink any alcohol. I’ve noticed an immense difference. My workouts and everything has totally changed.”

Ivelisse Velez, a well-known wrestler, continues to dominate in the world of professional wrestling. Famous for her time with Lucha Underground, Velez recently shared some thrilling highlights from her latest match with Shine Wrestling on Instagram. She captioned the post with pride, "My best match of 2024 🤼‍♀️🇵🇷⚔️🇯🇵." With a career centered on breaking barriers and raising the bar for women’s wrestling, Velez has become a powerful voice for female athletes. From her dedication in the ring to her role as a dog owner and advocate for healthy living, Velez's journey continues to inspire. Her passion for promoting women's wrestling shines through, solidifying her as a trailblazer in the sport.

1. She Wrestles

Wrestling is the main way Velez stays in shape. The sport has a lot of health benefits. FloWrestling states, “Wrestlers learn from challenging one-on-one struggles against an opponent and also develop an awareness of diet and nutrition through the process of making weight. While not all wrestlers and coaches approach weight loss in healthy ways, when done correctly, this can teach a physical life skill that many young athletes may never learn.”

2. She Has A Dog

Velez has a dog, whom she prominently features on her social media accounts. She shared this video on her TikTok and Instagram. Harvard Health states that having a dog can have some health benefits. “Ongoing research is showing that the health benefits of owning a dog are undeniable. Dog owners have lower blood pressure and healthier cholesterol levels, and a lower risk of heart disease, than non-owners.”

3. She Wants To Highlight Women’s Wrestling

Velez opened up about her career in an interview with The Huffington Post. She says that promoting women’s wrestling is important to her. “I have always wrestled like a guy; I have always had it in my mind to have that standard. I have always wanted to bring that level of credibility to women's wrestling. Women can fight. Women are just as good as men. Women are just as tough as men."

4. She’s Proud Of Herself

Velez is extremely proud of the way her career has gone. "With Lucha Underground, here I am, where I was meant to be all along," she said to The Huffington Post. "That's why I feel like I was meant to go through all that hell. This is perfect for what I wanted to bring to the world. It definitely means a lot. Being in this career and giving everything I have given, being acknowledged... It makes that feeling ten times bigger. I'm happy it's happening, happy for everything to come and extremely grateful!"

5. She Helped Change Things

Velez talked about being a part of getting women’s wrestling promoted to The Huffington Post. "I highly doubt it has anything to do with the talent, the women out there itself. It has to do with the fact WWE was the main wrestling entity, and that's what they wanted to sell. Anyone else who had a different agenda pretty much got short-handed. Now it's out there; there's a higher demand for that type of performer. They sort of have no choice but to roll with the punches and finally give people what they want to see."

For Hewitt, fitness is all about variety. “I try to switch it up a bit,” she told OK! Magazine. “I’ve found that if every week I do something different it tricks my muscles into not getting used to doing any one thing. I’ve been doing pilates, I’ve been doing yoga, I’ve done just plain old walking. I wear 10 pound weights on my ankles while I’m working just so that as I’m moving during the day I’m constantly building muscle. It’s not great for your back but I’m doing it anyway. I do a booty workout thing that I just did for Shape, which was really fun. And I do Zumba. I have DVDs and I dance around like a crazy person in my house.”

She Builds Confidence

Hewitt tells People that she wants to build her confidence up. “I think I’m a work in progress,” she admits. “[But] I feel it’s so much better than [it was] a year-and-a-half ago, and I feel like in another eight months, it’s going to be so much better than it is today.”

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

Pilates

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
