Nicola Roberts in Two-Piece Workout Gear Does "Pilates With a View"

Here are her lifestyle and fitness tips.

Former Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts is enjoying the incredible beauty of the French Alps while sticking to her exercise routine. Roberts, 38, shared pictures of herself wearing two-piece workout gear, doing a full Pilates mat session against the stunning snowy mountain landscape of Les Trois-Vallées. "Pilates with a view ⛷️🗻🧘‍♀️❤️," she captioned the post. "This is the motivation I needed today," a fan commented. Here's how Roberts approaches fitness, wellness, and beauty.

1

Squats and Dog Walking

Roberts does 100 squats every morning as she brushes her teeth, and makes sure to stretch every day. "I enjoy walks with my dogs and also like to run from time to time," she told Express. "I have danced since I was little, too. I keep my body supple and flexible with dance stretches." She's onto something—research shows walking is one of the most effective exercises for practically all fitness levels.

2

No Ultraprocessed Foods

Roberts enjoys a healthy diet with minimally ultraprocessed foods. "I'm quite fussy about food now," she told Glamour. "I won't eat frozen food and I like to know where my food has come from. I don't like anything going in my body that's from a packet. I used to eat microwave ready meals, because we were so busy, but now I like to eat clean." Roberts is sensible to stick to a whole foods diet. "Health consequences of ultraprocessed foods are dire. A large study conducted over 19 years showed a 31% higher mortality for the highest versus lowest consumers of ultraprocessed foods," preventive cardiologist Stephen Devries, MD, tells the American Medical Association. "The concerns include recent documentation of an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and dementia."

The Natural Look

Roberts prefers a natural look, with an emphasis on skincare and minimal makeup. "I love Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream," she told Express. "I apply it liberally to my lips throughout the day and before bed. It's also great for your hands, especially in the winter. For those days when I do need a little more help, Rodial Dragon's Blood Eye Masks are great, along with the Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Mask. I feel more like myself without make-up, because I'm at my most natural. It's no great revelation, but for me less is more."

Pilates Sessions

Roberts does regular Pilates sessions, both on the mat at home and using a reformer machine at a studio. "Thank you @pilatesbymarsha for the stretch of my life! Loved mine and @itsmikeyabegunde class. Can't wait to come back and see you soon 🖤 @nobupilatesofficial," she captioned an Instagram post.

5

Bath Oils

Roberts loves using bath oils to wind down and relax. "I don't pamper myself very often," she told Glamour. "I paint my own nails and only get my hair cut when it really needs it. Just a day to myself with a nice long bath, body oil, a cozy night with movies and a full fridge is perfect for me."
