Strictly Come Dancing star Ola Jordan is showing fans what her Dance Shred routine looks like. Jordan, 41, shared a video of herself wearing black leggings and a tank top, doing a dance-based workout with a group of enthusiastic clients. “Are you looking for an exciting and fun energy in your workouts? Come and join us and let’s dance! ❤️” reads the caption on the video. Jordan and her husband lost weight and got strong and fit after packing on the pandemic pounds—here’s how they did it.

1. Pandemic Pounds

Jordan and husband James gained weight after having a baby and being forced to stay at home during the pandemic lockdowns. “Like for many people, food became a comfort,” she told Top Sante. “We would sit on the sofa every night watching a movie eating crisps and tucking into a sharing bag of Minstrels. I couldn’t help myself and, because we had also let our exercise regime slip – something so many new parents will relate to – my weight crept up.”

2. Relationship Secrets

Jordan and husband James have been married for over 20 years. "We're strong as a couple and always there for each other," she told The Sun. "The secret is having a sense of humor. We're always joking. James is a real softie with a really good heart. He's wonderful with Ella, such a good dad. We've been together for a long time - we know each other inside out, and what makes each other tick.”

3. Long-Term Health

For Jordan, getting back into shape was more than just vanity. “I also wanted to lose weight to look after my health long term,” she told Top Sante. “I want to live as long as I can for my baby – anyone with kids will understand that. When I used to go out partying and drinking, I’d never think twice about the impact all the excess was having on my long-term health but now I do.”

4. Baby Joy

Jordan is glad she waited to have a baby. "We definitely did the right thing having Ella older,” she told The Sun. "We can look back knowing we traveled the world, had a lot of fun partying and did all the jobs we wanted to do. Now it's amazing being at home with this little person we longed for. I love her to bits - she's the best thing that ever happened to me."

5. Dancing and Lunges

Jordan was committed to losing weight, and together the couple made it happen. “Once I began on my health journey, I lost 1st 9lb [23 pounds] within the first month,” she told Top Sante. “James and I committed to cutting down on all the bad stuff. The three of us would be cha-cha-ing around the house and slowly – by combining the dancing with squats, lunges and planks, as well as following a 1,500-calorie-a-day eating plan – the weight started coming off. It was so refreshing to be doing something positive. And, it’s been brilliant creating our online programme Dance Shred so others can reap the benefits, too.”

Dutch model Doutzen Kroes is happiest on the dance floor with her friends, getting a solid workout while having fun. Kroes, 39, shared a picture of herself wearing an orange shirt and black workout pants, flashing the peace sign. “I love dancing. It’s like my therapy being in class dancing while letting go, out of the mind and into the body and enjoying the flow!” she captioned the post. Here’s what Kroes’s fitness and wellness routine looks like.

1. Dancing Workouts

Kroes developed a love for dance-based workouts aftering dancing in a lingerie campaign. “I was luckily introduced to Vincent Vianen who is an amazing dancer and choreographer,” she told Vogue France. “When I was asked to shoot lingerie while dancing, it was something where I was really faced with my own insecurities. I am going to continue to dance because I am going to be the first one on the dance floor now. One of the most important things Vincent taught me was to let go and to not think because I overthink and when you dance you have to let go, enjoy the music and really feel it. It's really fun to bring the best out of yourself and compete with yourself and it's getting better and better."

2. Ballet and Pilates

Kroes swears by ballet workouts and Pilates for a strong core and long, lean muscles. “When I come to New York, I always try to see Mary Helen Bowers because I love to do my ballet exercises with her. When I do Ballet Beautiful, I feel muscles the day after that I didn't even know I had. It lengthens my body and changes my posture,” she told Vogue France. "[Pilates] strengthens my core and because of that I feel very strong and it changed my posture. Pilates is so much harder than it looks and something Cheryl always tells me is that I have to make it look like it's easy."

3. Organic Produce

Fresh,Juice,With,Different,Pieces,Of,Fruits.,Top,View,VitaminsShutterstock

Organic fruits and vegetables make up a huge part of Kroes’s diet. “Every morning I mix an orange, grapefruit, and lemon with wheatgrass or green powder in the blender,” she told Vogue. “I make it for my son and husband. It’s very sour. It doesn’t taste good at all, but I do it because it’s healthy. My mom grows wheatgrass in her garden and my son goes there and he chews on it and thinks it’s gum! Kids are amazing—you can teach them anything and they’ll eat anything. Of course every kid is different. My son didn’t have any sugar until he was 3 years old. Growing up, my mom gave me really healthy food. Everything was fresh from the garden and organic before the organic hype. I still eat mostly organic food.”

4. Wonder Woman Role

Kroes was thrilled to play Amazon warrior Venelia in Wonder Woman. "I was a fan of Wonder Woman growing up—I loved the fact that she was as strong and as smart as Superman," she told Glamour. "I was able to do my own riding, and had several weeks of combat and weapons training for the scenes on the beach. I've always ridden horses, but learning to handle a sword at a full gallop was pretty intense. But I loved every minute of it!"

5. Beauty From Within

Kroes believes beauty and happiness are one and the same. “It sounds so clichéd but it definitely chimes from within,” she told Harper's Bazaar UK. You can put as much make-up on as you want, and hide certain things, but it’s cyclical. So, when you have gratitude and feel good, make-up emphasizes how you feel already. I see products as a tool to look even better and then because you look even better then you feel even better – it’s a positive circle... I’m discovering by practicing gratitude - that when you feel grateful and find that in the smallest of moments you then find it over and over again. You feel happier and happier and happier – because you continue to find it everywhere. It’s a really nice way of living.”

Jordynne Grace is doing a special dance for husband, Jonathan Gresham. In a new social media post the professional wrestler shows off her moves, while trying to appease her athlete hubby. “When he asks you to dance for him but you are a pro wrestler,” she wrote on the Instagram video. “Date night 💪🏾😅,” commented one of her followers. “Too cute,” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. From Pro Wrestler to Bodybuilder

Jordynne recently transitioned from wrestling to bodybuilding. “I want to be the first pro wrestler to ever go to The Arnold,” Grace told Sports Illustrated, referring to The Arnold Classic. “That’s my dream.” Even she was astounded by her transformation. “I feel like the same person, then I look in the mirror and say, ‘Whoa,’” says Grace. “The weight loss has become noticeable in my face, and I never thought I’d have a six-pack in my life. It’s been insane to see my body change.”

2. Pilates

Pilates,Instructor,Training,Women,At,The,Gym.,Two,Fitness,WomenShutterstock

On her anniversary, Jordynne hit a Pilates studio. “@stretch_atl for an incredible stretch session 🔥,” she wrote in the caption of a post. According to research, Pilates exercises are designed to increase muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility, and to improve posture and balance. Experts maintain that it is a great workout for leaning out.

3. Lots of Cardio and Dieting

“Bodybuilding doesn’t go with pro wrestling. I feel so weak. You’re putting your body through extremely intense stress. It leaves you exhausted,” she told Sports Illustrated, adding that there is lots of “cardio and dieting” involved. “I can’t wait to see what happens,” says Grace. “This is something I’m doing for a specific competition, and I think it’s important that people know that. There is so much behind it. Posing, memorizing routines, it’s a whole different ball game. When it’s over, I can’t wait to eat a lot of food.” She added: “But look at me now—I’m on the stairs every day for 90 minutes, and I’m eating chicken and rice every day.

4. Her Body Is Changing

Jordynne recently shared a photo of her body changing, from March to July to August. “March - four days out from a bodybuilding show, strict diet + 90 min daily cardio for 12 weeks.

July - about four months of little to no diet structure, lifting HEAVY, 20-30 min cardio 2-3x a week

August/currently: structured diet for apprx 4 weeks, daily cardio, lifting 5-6x/week,” she wrote. “Seeing all these wrestling and bodybuilding shows going on is causing me elite level FOMO.”

5. Not Listening to Haters

“I’ve gotten relentless hate about the way I look on social media,” Grace wrote in a post. “I’ve heard I was too big or that I was too short—now I hear that I’m too muscular and I look like a man. I am here to prove that you can do whatever you want to, especially if you use those negative comments as fuel.”

Julianne Hough is showing off her dance moves – and her slim figure. In a new social media montage, the Dancing with the Stars judge dances her way through life, confessing that she is always busting a move. “Not, not dancing,” she joked in the Instagram caption. “I love it!!! And I love you!!!” one of her followers commented. “Whatever it is, babe, you have GOT IT. :) Really hitting your stride. And lookin' gorgeous, btw,'' added another. What do you need to know about Hough’s go-to exercise? Celebwell has the details.

1. She Moves “Every Day"

Hough gets her daily exercise. “Working out and staying healthy is part of my daily routine,” she told Us Weekly. “I move my body every day doing a variety of workouts.”

2. She Does Body by Simon

For years, Julianne relied on Body by Simone, a dance-inspired cardio workout created by Simone de la Rue. The method mixes dancing with intervals of conditioning moves to target the upper and lower body and core. "We do lots of mat work, body-weight moves and free weights," she told Good Morning America.""The trampoline cardio might sound crazy, but it's a great low-impact option. As a dancer, you've got to take good care of your knees!"

3. She Created KINRGY

Julianne formulated her own workout, KINRGY, inspired by her love of dance. “Dance continues to surprise me. Dance strengthens muscles that I didn’t even know I had - physically, emotionally and energetically 💪🏼😊✨ I’m feeling so grateful for my daily #KINRGY practice which brings me strength and power - internally and externally! Connecting with the elements and moving intuitively is what it’s all about! The more I move, the more I feel myself in #flow and fully expressed,” she wrote in a recent Instagram post.

4. She Maintains It’s “Not About Getting the Steps Right”

"It's important to remember that it’s not about getting the steps right, but just about keeping your heart rate up and having a good time," Hough told GMA.

5. What Makes Dancing a Great Workout?

Dancing is a great workout for many reasons. Not only does it build strength and promote flexibility, but helps you lose weight and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop heart disease or die from it than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues.

Rashida Jones is showing off her dance moves – in her workout gear. In a new social media post the Sunny actress flaunts her amazing figure while dancing with John Havic. “Dancing into summer,” she captioned the Instagram video. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

1. Pilates

Jones doesn’t consider herself a "[workout] freak," she told Women's Health. She rarely sticks to a routine. "I'll go through stages when I get really into something; like, I'll start running six times a week," she said. "Right now I'm into pilates three times a week, which is great because it makes me feel strong."

2. Spinning

Jones told Health that she also likes spinning. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is great for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis. Why is pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic there are lots of benefits to the workout, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

3. Meditation

Calm,Serene,Sporty,Young,African,American,Ethnic,Woman,Meditate,SitShutterstock

Jones gets wellness inspiration from her mom, Peggy Lipton. "She has always been holistic about beauty — she puts on sunblock, drinks a ton of water, takes care of herself, meditates. I'm less strict, but I do meditate, eat well, work out. And I love being in nature with no mirrors — just trees and a good sweat,” she said. “When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress,” says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

4. Loving the Post Exercise Feel

While Jones hates exercise "more than anything when I am on my way to the gym," she told Health, she tries to think about that post-exercise glow. "I love exercise more than anything as soon as I leave the gym and for the rest of the day," she said.

5. Dancing

Jones revealed to Health that her workout inspiration comes from Fox's So You Think You Can Dance. "Those dancers are ridiculously strong and amazing," she said. "It makes me want to move my body (in a much less graceful way)." Dancing is a great workout for many reasons. I’ve been doing pilates, I’ve been doing yoga, I’ve done just plain old walking. In addition to her impressive acting ability, the star is a total bombshell and has one of the fittest figures in Hollywood. Here are the top 5 habits that help her stay fit at 27.

Water Skiing

Sydney has been water skiing since she was a toddler. “The moment I could walk, my mom put me on what’s called a U-board to learn how to ski,” she told Women’s Health. “I remember that whenever we would go by the docks of my grandma’s or my cousin’s house, I’d wave. I felt so cool because I could take off one hand. That’s my earliest memory of skiing, but I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. It’s my favorite.” How does it help her achieve her amazing body? “It’s a lot of upper body strength, it’s balance, it’s core, it’s legs—you get tired really fast,” she says. “I see such a change in my body after an entire summer of [skiing]. My arms are stronger, more sculpted. My abs are rock solid. But I never look at it as a workout because it is so much fun,” she said.

Morning Workouts

Sydney mixes up her exercise routine, but likes to get workouts over with early in the day. “I like to work out in the morning, so I’ll either go for a run or I’ll go to Solidcore,” says Sydney. The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Self-Care

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Walks and Hikes

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana Morais is showing off her ab-fab figure – in a two-piece exercise set. In a new social media post, the fitness influencer flaunts her fantastic figure in a brown sports bra and leggings. “Self Progress & Development is not always linear. Sometimes we take steps back & that’s just a sign to course correct so we can leap forward. If 2024 wasn’t the year you expected, use it as an opportunity to learn, grow, & carry on. It’s you VS you - continue to try, focus on consistency > perfection & you will prevail 🤎 rooting for us all to strengthen our mind & bodies this year,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Prioritizing Digestion and Getting Blood Work Done

Other healthy habits? “Prioritizing digestion,” she writes in the same post. “Making sure I get enough fiber & starting off every morning with a juice cleanse. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Hiking

Mariana enjoys hiking. “Elevation therapy,” she captioned a post from one of her fitness adventures. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues

According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.
