1. Tennis With Friends
Flowers loves to play tennis with her friends, which is a great way to exercise while enjoying social time. “Tennis is great aerobic exercise with a social component where you can play with friends and meet new people,” Michael Donaworth, MD, tells UC Health. “It’s a lifelong sport that you can play at any age and find a competitor of similar age and skill level. Tennis is a worldwide sport, so no matter where you are, you can likely find someone who plays.”
2. Running Cardio Sessions
Flowers likes to run outdoors for a good cardio workout. “Running has shown to improve heart health, assist with weight loss, and improve mood,” according to the experts at Harvard Health. “Worried about your joints? Some studies have found that running may actually improve the health of aging knees and ease symptoms of osteoarthritis like joint pain and stiffness.”
3. Winter Ski Trips
Flowers enjoys skiing trips over the winter holiday months, something that has multiple health and wellness benefits. “The benefits of time spent with friends and family on the chairlift, memories made over après, and laughs had on the slopes are immeasurable, but the physical and mental ones can be measured, and the numbers don’t lie," says the Canadian Ski Council. The direct effect skiing and snowboarding has on your lower-body strength and muscle mass will be evident after a day on the slopes as your quads, calves, and glutes feel the burn!”
4. Skincare and Bedtime

Flowers winds down with her simple evening skincare routine and an early bedtime, so she gets enough sleep for optimum health and wellness. “I take off the day with Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser and load up on moisturizer,” she told Us Weekly. “I get to bed before 11:30 p.m. in order to be an early riser.”
5. Weight Training
Flowers starts her mornings with weight training, before diving into her busy work day. “I grew up playing basketball and tennis, so working one-on-one with my trainer, Eric [Johnson], gives me that coach [and] athlete discipline I’ve missed from playing sports,” she told Us Weekly. “One of my favorite things to do is attend a Dallas Mavericks basketball game. I grew up coming to these with my family, so I try to catch one whenever I’m in town.”
